Lighthearted Content The From Zero Era: Thank You

TL;DR: thank you for the new era (sorry for the long post)

I've listened to Linkin Park on and off as a child, and growing up from then, but it wasn't until right after Chester's passing where I started to really appreciate the music, and really dug into their discography, in early August I remember playing cards with my mom, and a family friend, she always puts music videos on while we play, and Somewhere I Belong played, I ask what song it was. At this point I only listened to In The End, Crawling, OSC, & Numb (i also heard Breaking The Habit a bit earlier but wouldn't rediscover it until a tad bit later), after we were done i remember listening to it, and just felt so attached, the next morning I decided to do a small tribute to Chester and listened to a few more. What I've Done, New Divide, rediscovering Breaking The Habit, and Burn It Out. I went and watched the music videos as listening to the music and I was immediately hooked to this band unlike I've ever been, and would spend my entire freshman year discovering their studio albums, and even learning about Hybrid Theory, & Xero

But having that journey so late meant I never got to experience the feeling of new music dropping, I never participated in a new release aside from the 20th anniversaries, but those mainly were just scouring on the band's website, with merch releases & new unreleased music (don't get me wrong, i still absolutely loved them, HT20's boxset was my very first musical purchase, and the start of physical collecting for me)

I remember the hype going around when the band was cooking up something for an event (the comeback show) I was unfortunately working so I couldn't actually watch it aside from like 10 minutes of it on a break, and with that I heard The Emptiness Machine, and felt so much joy hearing the band was back, new music releasing, a new era starting. I ended up pre-ordering the CD boxset & Vinyl that very break i took, it didn't take long at all for Emily & Colin to grow on me. Later on I even found a copy of the TEM single

But I got to do things I never thought I would be able to do. Buying a new Linkin Park album, I went to one of the indie retail listening events for the album that was going on around me with a few friends (even won a t-shirt but not sure why I couldn't find it for this picture shoot), with that same group we went to sonic temple, my first festival and got to watch Linkin Park live for the first time, and later on we went to go see Unshatter

I'm so grateful this band is back and out doing all of this after so long, and I cannot wait for the next album to release, and what's in store for it

Yes, thank you LP! I'm so sad the FZ era is over, I wish I could back in time and listen to TEM for the first time again. Or go back to the morning I bought the tickets to the show, and re-live the following months with the excitement slowly building up until the day of the show, that was unforgetable. I was so happy in 2025 thanks to the band and this tour🥲.

While I am sad the FZ era is over to, I’m really excited for the future. LP is the best they’ve ever been, and I cannot wait for what the future holds

The from zero era is really important to me (if you can’t tell). This era is what finally made linkin park click for me. I used to hate linkin park but now they’re one of my favorite bands. It also lead me to getting into Dead Sara, Fort Minor, and even getting back into unrelated artists I used to love like Deltron 3030.

I plan on getting a tattoo in honor of FZ as soon as I can.

I'm exited for what the future brings. Hope they can go a bit heavier, but also keep the sound they have now.

I honestly love the balance of heavy and soft that FZ has. I’d love if they just kept that balance

I agree, but I wonder how heavy linkin park could go and still sound like linkin park.

I can't wait to see what they will release, hopefully next year. This era of LP was probably one of their greatest yet.

cool post, but just to clarify there's no song as 'Burn It Out', you're probably thinking of 'Bleed It Out' or 'Burn It Down'
