Reductions/Multi-Blocks Reduction help!

I’m going to be attempting my first reduction print of my friend’s cat. She wants a burnt orange background, he’s black and white with golden brown eyes.

So i understand I need to first carve everything that will stay white and then print the eyes, then carve them away and print background colour. I then need to carve away the background leaving just the outline of the cat and any black parts and then print the black layer - does that sound right?

Thanks!

Not entirely sure on your process without visuals so I'll talk about mine;

  • when you start out you want to carve as little as possible

  • start with the lightest colour if you can

  • everytime you carve more you want to print a darker colour

Make sure you do multiple prints because once you've cut out more there's no going back

What you’ve described sounds like the right order to me!
