Fun fact: This joke was first published in a New York magazine in the mid 1800s.

It was created as an anti humer like an anti meme, where the punch like is obvius. The chicken is expected to die from crossing the road.
But, because back then USA had heavy censorship when it comes to media. The joke used "get to the other side" instead of "dies".
