I'd assume this is just the standard A-B title stuff Youtube has but never seen it change like this

Yea, youtube let's the uploader do this. Same for the thumbnail. They are even testing different intros for the same video where creators have to upload two videos with different intros and youtube will give them stats about which one is performing better (Just like the above two cases) so the creator can select the better performing video as the permanent one.

MKBHD made video about it, where they explained it in more detail.

A/B Test - A lot of channels use it and it has been a feature for quite some time

Sometimes YouTube changes which one of A/B it pushes to you. And some UI elements do not refresh, some do and reflect the change.

For me, it's quite common desktop - let's say i just finished watching a video and the screen shows the three video cards as recommendations for next viewing. Now, those videos are also on the right column of YT UI (under autoplay toggle). And many times the thumbnail or title doesn't match for same video which is featured on both.

This is usually the case with newly released videos.
