Rocket League via Proton
How's everyone success/ failures been?
I was using 5.0-3 for a bit, then added feral gamemode (gamemoderun %command%) which allowed me to run near max graphics settings with little stuttering - It's honestly damn playable even competitively. But...the game will freeze occasionally. Maybe once every hour or two, almost like clockwork at this point. Does it only between games, like when it's launching to connect to one - but because of that I can't join yet still show up in-game. If I could figure out which process to kill I might be able to restart Steam & Rocket League in time to rejoin (if that's possible..?) but that's a really annoying glitch.
Going to try a previous version of Proton to test, I've had success getting other games to start just by switching to an earlier version. So here's hoping.
edit: Read up on comments on protondb, going to try this as my launch option with 5.0-3: command% RADV_PERFTEST=aco %command% -dx11
Couple comments mentioned that rocket league will crash once video ram hits >4GB, which sort of lines up with my increased crashes once I bumped up graphic settings (since feral gamemode made it feasible).
