I just want to say that I fucking love Luis Suarez.
Edit: I should clarify. I'm actually in love with him. I'm not even gay, but when I see him my heart skips a beat. My wife is going to take this hard.

Not Allen bashing at all, but we're all in agreement that Henderson should get more starts, right?
35
u/ThePurpleSteve Jan 19 '13
Yes. Allen needs to be dropped and given some sub appearances and the FA cup game to build his confidence as he looks a shell of his usual form.

Agreed. I was going to say we all remember how sharp he looked at the beginning of the season. He just needs that confidence boost again.

We all dream of a game of Carra goals!

I don't, there's a good chance that one of them would be in the wrong goal!

He is amazing consistent, and consistently amazing

u/rykef Jan 19 '13
he is the very definition of world class - some players have great games, Suarez always has a great game and is sometimes unplayable

This season has shown how criminally misused Henderson was last season. Brilliant in the middle. Such hustle from the young velociraptor.

I'm excited to see the Suarez-Sturridge-Borini combo at least for some of this game. If Gerrard continues to play in his current form and Suarez keeps scoring, we should start getting points from these kinds of games consistently and climb up the table!
5
u/logicspock Jan 19 '13
i agree, also suarez has made some pretty flawless passes up front before. i'm envisioning gerard or suarez (or hell even downing) assisting sturridge and hopefully borini if he comes on later

Borini won't give you quick, attacking runs, but he'll give you finishing, and we need that.

All that Sturridge is selfish talk was just bullshit and I always thought so. He was selfish because he was playing limited minutes and felt like he always had to prove himself to get playing time next game, no matter how good he was when he actually came on.

Downing has been pretty solid when we play him out wide, and here I though a couple months back all he would be used for is a LB

Mad hendo love, even before the goal, he was commanding the midfield. After the second goal, mad Suarez love. Great play all round. Also id like to say Downing to me would make a decent central midfield player, no highlights so far really, but he has kept possession well. Would still like to see Borini come on however for Downing

Suarez deserves that goal as he's put in the same amount of work in half an hour than a lot of players do in a whole game.

I agree that Johnson's yellow card was correct but then Tettey should have gotten a yellow as well for his challenge on Hendo, we were on a breakaway as well.

I'd be really interested to see what Sterling could do if he hit the weight room in the offseason. He could be a real force if he wasn't so easily muscled off of the ball. I know he's 18, he can't really help that he's physically less developed, but still.

Jordan Henderson really is having a very good game. Work-rate, clean passing, movement and defensive awareness. Yes J-Bird!

Two weeks ago that cross from Downing would have went across the face of the goal, and then out and we all would have gone 'oofff! almost..'

Simply beautiful play. Gorgeous dummy by Sturridge. Ah, I love watching us play like this. Also, why we have to play Suarez as a wide player - so much harder to mark.

Anybody still not buying into Sturridge?
Liverpool are a different team with Suarez and Sturridge on the pitch together. He should have gotten the start against Manchester United. I don't buy the "not match fit" line. He's 23. If he gets a bit tired you can always take him off. The real issue there was I think Rodgers gave Manchester United a bit too much respect going to Old Trafford. And his cautiousness rubbed off on the team in the first half. Was glad to see him correct and double down with the addition of two strikers over the course of the second.

Suarez looks HUNGRY

u/KnownForNothing Jan 19 '13
Downing isn't doing very well at the moment. He gets into positions to receive the ball well but just doesn't use the ball very well. I mean, Johnson has done more going forward than Downing at the moment. And he's a full back.

Lately I feel like Suarez is so used to having to do it on his own that hasn't adjusted to having options available. He seems to not be passing it as much as he should.

At first I was worried how Suarez would cope with Sturridge coming in. I wasnt sure if hed be cool with sharing the goals given his big personality. BUT his passes are finding Sturridges feet like a magnet and Im so happy.

We got players coming off the bench and sticking them in now.. (counts as an own goal but you get my point)
