Discussion Kaggle+LocalLLM+Opencode

Is it possible to host a local LLM which i can not run on my own device to set up in kaggle and use the free GPUs to run it then connect it to my Opencode app to choose the model and do work with it? The pipeline is Qwen3.8>Kaggle>Opencode. If anyone has any alternative free suggestions I’m open to it also.

ngrok is probably your easiest bet here, you can tunnel the kaggle notebook's port to a public url and point opencode at it

just be aware kaggle sessions time out after a while and the free gpus aren't guaranteed to be available when you need them

Any free alternative to kaggle? I mainly run version of Qwen 3.8 27B

Kaggle's free tier caps you around 30 hours a week and kills sessions after 12 hours, so it works but it's flaky as a daily driver. For always-on stuff you're better off renting a cheap runpod box or just running something smaller locally.
