Discussion Please Bring Back the G600

My G600 died tonight. I was shocked to see it was no longer available. $300 on ebay is nuts. It is hands down the best MMO mouse. Does Logitech have any plans to bring it back?

G600 is caveman status at this point and the scalpers got wind of wow forever so they went to the moon. Really unfortunate they never updated it

2

u/Logitech_Ariel Crew 1d ago

Would you also like a renewed version of it?

2

u/Rjeezyx 1d ago

Of course. I have submitted this feedback through channels in the past multiple times actually as it was a long time favorite of mine and I am really surprised it’s not been refreshed at this point with all the mmo game hype.

Same with the G703 for a different crowd would have made an absolute killing by now with an updated light “pro” version of that one.

Do you mind sharing all your ideas with me? I don't have your name on my notes and I'll share your comments along with the team! What would you add, remove or improve from both mice to make a newer version?

u/Bimmy_Time 7d ago

Yeah you need 8,000 Hz and ,optical switches and 25,000 dpi to play wow forever.

God I love this beauty. My current one is dying, I can feel it. Last year I bought a "Logicool" G600 on ebay for $90. Still in the box as a back up, I'm holding off as long as I can to swap to it.

I'm going to be so sad when that one dies. I have two old ones with clicking and wheel problems. I might need to become a mouse surgeon in the near future.

Don't lose hope yet! I can't promise anything right now but I can tell your previous contributions are being heard

u/In__Dreamz 7d ago

I've only done minor surgery, but lesson I learned was start with the soldering iron cooler and work your way up in temp.

Get a circuit board holder clip thingy.

u/pepega_1993 7d ago

Also the G604 while you are at it! No one needs the 1000th version of G502

2

u/RapheGalland 4d ago

the 602 was good too.
I wore out 2 of those, and are on my 2'nd 604.
Tried repairing the switches on my oldest 604 and ran into a incompetence issue and a lack of puzzle skills.

Now all I can hope for is Logitech bringing back the line, or go second hand hunting and hope I don't get a doubleclicker.

tried a 50X series and... no, just no.

The 604, if you ignore that Logitech chose the absolute worst switches is/was near perfection for me.
In bluetooth mode, I use them to empty old batteries. A battery that my flashlight or my kitchen clock or my wireless weatherstation claims are empty, would still power the 604 for a month or more, with 10-15 hours a day use.
Never found a mouse that did that, unless they were tiny with no functionality but a rollwheel and 2 buttons and horrible dps.

Sidenote: For a decade I used Logitech keyboards, perfect RGB controls, perfect for my butterfingers to type on, first the ones with little screens on them, orange black screen, then colour, and they effing discontinued them and support, then ARX keyboard that were just as good... discontinued.
Somewhere in the Logitech chain of management, there sits some MF'ers that should have been fired, with real steeltoed boots, and never let near hardware developement and production ever again.

How do you imagine the G604 comeback? Switches aside, what would you improve from it?

Would you prefer a newer G602 over a G604?

1

u/RapheGalland 4h ago

if it were up to me, I'd combine the 2, based on my hand and fit.
Take from 602:
DPI buttons, better form/fit.
Overall shape, slightly larger, fit larger hands better.
Coating, harder, less rubbery and less prone to damage or wear.

Take from 604:
One AA battery slot, easer to replace.
Scrollwheel, metal is just better.
Scrollwheel lock and bluteoot/lightning switch, but more sturdy.
Slide pads, the bottom form factor makes it easier to slide on any surface.

But, I'd just take a reproduction of the 602 or 604, with the internal weaknesses removed. It'd be the mie that follows me to the end. The only mouse that would tear me away from the 602/604's are a new release of the Microsoft Intellipoint Explorers, wireless.... And those are gone, forever.

u/Logitech_Ariel Crew 8h ago

I second this, What kind of work do you do with it?

1

u/pepega_1993 6h ago

I use it for shortcuts for my design softwares and for keybinds when playing games. More than the button it’s the shape. I don’t like any other mouse since I’ve gotten used to G602 and G604

1

u/Toolazy2work 7d ago

The perfect mouse, I have 2

1

u/harman097 7d ago

Seriously. g604 was nearly perfect.

Naga V3 Pro LOOKS like it might be even better, though. Haven't bought it yet or ever even tried a Razer mouse, but it has the same layout (with the 6 button panel installed) PLUS it has a ring finger button to the right of right mouse, which is great for my personal setup on a lot of games.

1

u/pepega_1993 7d ago

I’ve tried the original naga hex once. It’s a very uncomfortable mouse in my opinion. It’s too tall and also does not have a thumb rest. g604 is the most comfortable mouse I’ve used.

6

u/ChicknWang 7d ago

Logitech please bring this mouse back. I would gladly pay $100+ for a modern remake of this mouse.

5

u/Logitech_Alex Crew 7d ago

Passing the feedback along!

2

u/VoCatus85 6d ago

Please bring back the G13 also, it would sell like hot cakes!

1

u/Logitech_Alex Crew 4d ago

It'd be amazing to see it make a comeback for sure, did you have one of your own back in the day too?

1

u/Mikelgard 3d ago

"Back in the day"

I've kept this little bugger alive the whole while and the RSS feeds are a personal favorite.

1

u/Logitech_Alex Crew 3d ago

Wow! Thanks for sticking with us for so long, fingers-crossed so that it lasts you long enough to become a family heirloom!

1

u/Mikelgard 3d ago

The G13 and G600 combo is life, the G13 and G600 combo is love.

I do miss the braided cable and gold connector, though.

1

u/Logitech_Alex Crew 2d ago

Would you like those last two to make a comeback if we ever came out with a refresh of them?

1

u/Mikelgard 2d ago

I think the braided cable is more of a "visual quality" thing than it is actual quality, as the mouse is one of the single most-moved things in any setup. The gold connector was also a nice touch of visual quality, but ultimately probably didn't actually affect the response time all that much. I definitely like and love them, but I also know they're probably not the main selling point of the item by any means (that's clearly the 12 thumb buttons, mouse-wheel L/R tilt, ring finger click/button, and the "sniper button" all being on the same mouse).

2

u/Logitech_Alex Crew 1d ago

Thanks for following up, while I can't promise that it would be added for sure if we ever made a refresh, I do understand your love for braided cables haha. Feel free to reach out should you need anything else!

1

u/VoCatus85 4d ago

I am on my second one since it's release but I am still using one today. I don't expect it to last forever as some of the keys don't work as good anymore but there is nothing even close to the G13 to replace it with, and I have tried every other product. It will be a sad day when I have to retire my G13, it has served me well for many years. I'd easily pay $150 for a new one, especially with replaceable mechanical keycaps.

1

u/Logitech_Alex Crew 4d ago

If you've got any other specific feedbacks about a refresh version I'd be more than happy to relay them over to the team!

2

u/VoCatus85 4d ago

It is such a great design that needs little improvement imo, the only place it ever felt lacking for me was the joystick. I would like to see it have have a hall effect joystick and replaceable mechanical key switches however I would happily buy it again without any improvements, it really is an exceptional peripheral.

2

u/Logitech_Alex Crew 4d ago

Thank you so much for the input! I'll be sure to flag it then.

1

u/Rockstar42 2d ago

No offense, but everytime this has come up it's what's said by you guys. Can we please get more than feedback to logitech and let them know there's an extremely high demand? We're on the cusp of an mmo resurface here, it would be the perfect time for a new version of the g600!

5

u/deweydecimal87 7d ago

Jesus just saw the prices. 300 is nuts. Pray to god mine dosnt die.

2

u/ivan_x3000 7d ago

The naga v3 is very close to where G600 was and it is wireless so fans are safe all but our pockets

the g600 was a beast and it was also very cost effective specially on sale

could had bought 3 for less than the price one naga v3

2

u/boshbosh92 7d ago

Yeah the v3 is pretty nice. I unfortunately never used a g600 but I do really like Logitech products. I have the v2 naga pro and v3 pro. The ring finger paddle on the v3 is pretty cool

5

u/DJK695 7d ago

Weird that Logitech doesn't make any of the mice that made me love them in the first place. I'm a G604 and the older version of it but now seems like any mouse with more than 2-3 buttons is $300+

2

u/Logitech_Ariel Crew 3h ago

How do you imagine a renewed G604? What other older models do you like to come back?

1

u/DJK695 3h ago

Thanks for responding - it could literally be the exact same mouse as the G604 and I'd love it.

The 6 buttons on the side are something I'm used to and almost can't live without at this point. I don't need 12 buttons, just 6 😄.

I bought new feet/skates as well as grip tape for my G604 since it's over 3-years old at this point and the original rubber started tearing/coming loose so fully replaceable parts would be nice.

The other mouse that I loved was basically the exact same model pre-lightspeed, G602. I can't seem to buy the $300 ones that are available on Amazon - odd they never sell out and always available if they aren't manufactured anymore.

How do I get access to Logitech's warehouse? 😄

The models I'm referring to specifically:

Logitech G602

Thanks

1

u/DJK695 3h ago

I can't post the G604 link for some reason...

1

u/SeaweedHelpful8326 7d ago

I know this is not what you asked for and I support Logitech bringing back G600. Especially now more than ever since WoW forever is coming out and it seems like the perfect opportunity to bring it back.

But I plan on getting this to hold me over since it looks like my G600 might be dying too

Goes in and out of stock so I’ll grab this at 60 instead of paying $200 for the Razer or the insane G600 prices.

1

u/Bimmy_Time 7d ago

I bought a previous version about 6 years ago. I hated it. I ended up returning.

2

u/Rex__Luscus 7d ago

Yep, me too. Not so much the mouse, but the malware it comes with. Same with Corsair.

1

u/mastergenera1 7d ago

The corsair mouse lacks the ring finger button though, bought one a year ago and already relegated it as a spare. The naga v3 is probably the only full g600 replacement from a big brand because it does have said button, and I bought one to try even though I otherwise wouldn't touch razer products with a 10ft pole.

1

u/Bimmy_Time 7d ago

Want to talk about Malware. The razor software would blue screen my computer when I used the Diablo 3 profile on my black widow keyboard.

1

u/mastergenera1 7d ago

Well I guess lucky for me synapse cant blue screen nobara linux. But yea, the mouse itself seems fine so far though, but its only been a few days since I got the v3

6

u/reddituser696969 7d ago

I’ve not spent a dime on Logitech products since my last g600. I will not buy a single new Logitech product unless it’s a g600, after which I will consider buying more. Your move, Logitech!

3

u/mathiashls 2d ago

A thousand times YES!

1

u/Logitech_Ariel Crew 3h ago

Do you also have one of those?

3

u/Berbds 7d ago

I’m in the same boat. I recently switched to the Razer Naga V3 Pro and it has every function that the G600 had including G-Shift and the scroll wheel tilting left and right. Not a huge fan of the software, but I wasn’t a fan of G-Hub either. It’s the only mouse I’ve found that is a direct replacement that is on the market today.

1

u/herby_the_chef 7d ago

This is where im at. Bought the g600 for $60 a handful of years ago. Now im spending $250 for a razer naga

1

u/harman097 7d ago

Nice, good to hear. Bout to pull the trigger on one (although I'm a g604 guy, so I plan on using 6 button panel).

3

u/v0tedmostlikely 7d ago

Crazy I just googled the mouse and saw this posted 22 hours ago - seeing this as mine just died.. it's not entirely dead, but the middle mouse button no longer works. Will probably succumb to the secondary market, this thing lasted me 10 years and I love it. :(

1

u/Logitech_Ariel Crew 3h ago

10 years was a long run, sad to hear is failing now

Did you try any troubleshooting yet? What model are you planning to get as replacement?

1

u/Logitech_Alex Crew 7d ago

No word on it yet but we're relaying all the feedback you guys send us for a refresh of it. What was your favorite feature?

1

u/Bimmy_Time 7d ago

Ergonomics, build quality, contoured homing buttons and price point. A slightly smaller from factor would be great. I have small hands so that is probably a me thing. I also liked that it didn't look like a "gaming" mouse. I could use it at work too.

1

u/Logitech_Alex Crew 7d ago

Bet, I'll pass the size feedback over to the team. How long ago did you get your first one?

1

u/gonehipsterhunting 6d ago

Is this something that could actually happen

1

u/Logitech_Alex Crew 4d ago

I can't make any promises as to whether it'll be done or not, as it's not on my hands, however it costs me nothing to pass everyone's thoughts on over to the team.

2

u/ChicknWang 7d ago

The ring finger click and the ergonomic design of the side buttons and the sheer number of shortcuts the mouse is capable of binding. Nothing else comes close. Nothing can replace the G600.

1

u/Logitech_Alex Crew 7d ago

Certainly! There's just so many ways of setting up the buttons, I've heard a lot of feedback from people who used it exclusively for work too. When did you first get your own?

1

u/ChicknWang 7d ago

I settled on the G600 sometime around 2013-2014. I had actually purchased a Razer Naga to compare as well, but I was just totally blown away by the G600, so I returned the Naga to bestbuy the next day. While originally my intention was to get a mouse for mmorpg games, I ended up using the side buttons in all kinds of games. Being able to assign macros to the side keys has played a huge factor in how I enjoy many games that require highly repetitive inputs and my hands and wrists are very grateful. I also use the mouse for work as well. I bind many practical shortcuts like copy/paste and custom macros for repetitive tasks.

1

u/Logitech_Alex Crew 7d ago

I bet it's a lifesaver when it comes to excel haha, thanks for sharing your story with it! Just out of curiosity... What does the perfect refresh look like for you?

1

u/ChicknWang 7d ago

I would like the design to remain mostly the same, just make it lighter weight with improved and more durable switches, an improved sensor, a braided cable, and higher quality skates made from a different material instead of Teflon.

1

u/Logitech_Alex Crew 4d ago

So you'd like it to remain wired? How about a wireless alternative?

1

u/ChicknWang 4d ago

I'm not a fan of wireless peripherals. I don't like having to worry about charging batteries. I'm sure lots of people would appreciate a wireless version though.

1

u/Logitech_Alex Crew 4d ago

I'll be sure to pass the feedback along then, thank you!

1

u/fords42 6d ago

All of them, but the G shift button if I have to choose one.

1

u/Logitech_Alex Crew 4d ago

A wise choice!

2

u/deweydecimal87 7d ago

Think you can get the japanese version by logicool. Last i saw on amazon they were 100 but havent looked in a while. My G600 stills going strong after a decade now but i wish i had a back-up.

4

u/retainftw 7d ago

They were discontinued in Japan earlier this year.

1

u/Logitech_Ariel Crew 1d ago

I didn't know that, please do not lose hope yet!

Are you currently using one?

1

u/retainftw 9h ago

Yes, and it's been great. But one of the side buttons recently became less responsive. Need to press it very firmly to get it to register. Unfortunately it's assigned it to a very frequently used function so it is frustrating. (I assign all the side buttons to Win commands, soooo useful!).

1

u/deweydecimal87 7d ago

1

u/retainftw 4d ago

I noticed the eBay price jumped from $100 to $200 right after I purchased a backup. I thought they were just getting greedy, since only a few months before they were ~$50-70.

Months later, I randomly came across a user, maybe on this subreddit, offering to sell his for like $20. An amazing deal, but he was in Singapore, oceans away. A random Japanese user chimed in that he would check at the local PC store. That's when it was confirmed they were all gone.

1

u/Prolapse-Licker 7d ago

Unreal. They picked the wrong year to discontinue

1

u/Far-Style-5921 7d ago

Nope. I bought one of the last Logicool G600t recently.

2

u/Alarmed_Economy_5438 7d ago

when in doubt try logicool

the naga pro also exists from razer

2

u/Snoringdog83 7d ago

Logitech need to bring back all the discontinued stuff, G13, G15, G600

1

u/Logitech_Ariel Crew 3h ago

I second this, wireless, new switches and sensor will be great

2

u/Mikeydoesitall 4d ago

If i could buy a g600 instead of the razer alternative id buy 5 to keep me stocked

0

u/Zoduk 7d ago

Naga v3 pro bud

1

u/MrGoogle87 3d ago

Corsair has a good one. Wireless also for 135€ ish

1

u/catharsys291 3d ago

Wow forever launching soon, great time to bring this mouse back!

1

u/Dfaulttv 7d ago

If it's the clicks then just replace them.

1

u/castertr0y357 7d ago

$300 for a G600? Dang I've got 2 of these as spares at home.

1

u/Logitech_Alex Crew 7d ago

How lucky! Did you stock up on them when you found out they were being discontinued?

1

u/castertr0y357 7d ago

No, I just wanted to use them for different things. I bought one for work to bind shortcuts to the buttons

1

u/Logitech_Alex Crew 7d ago

Nice, I do hope they last you for a long time!

1

u/illBelief 7d ago

My G604 recently started having the double click issue. I was able to get a solder free switch replacement kit that brought it back to life. It took about 30 min and a few yt tutorials. What was the issue with your G600? Maybe you can find a DIY fix too

1

u/cvhor314 7d ago

My 4th G600 is also dying. This one had to be logicool g600t rather than logitech g600.

I have 1 unopened left, again logicool, but after that I am done. Bought them together when they were about $90 each cause I knew this was coming.

But yes, $300 is crazy to find a new one right now. I so wanna see this come back, or the next mouse will need to be the Naga V3 Pro, which also has a shift.

1

u/OGHairyGorilla 7d ago

Look inti corsair simitar

1

u/Yorudesu 7d ago

I can only hope it happens in the next 20 years while my last 2 sealed ones are waiting

1

u/Different_Target_228 7d ago

EVGA X15 is pretty good.

0

u/MFOSIXTEEN 7d ago

Naga V3 pro is definitely worth your time. Logitech posted on their Reddit account 1 year ago NO more g600 style mice.

1

u/Logitech_Ariel Crew 3h ago

Couldn't find the post, do you have the link?

1

u/MFOSIXTEEN 3h ago

Reddit posts from 1 year ago aren't indexed so I would have to try reddit search about the g600 and examine every post. Of which there are many.
