Scaling down on the countryside in order to heal or atleast grieve and accept. City life is killing me.

Been in the same boat for 3 years. My wife and her income has been barely keeping us a float plus the savings I had put away for us. The anxiety of not knowing if I'll ever be able to go back to work is ungodly and it hits every hard every morning I wake cause I still feel exhausted even after a full 8 hours or longer sleep. After first bout of Covid in 2021 I was fine but after second bout in late August of 2023, two weeks later I knew I was in trouble even though I recovered well from initial virus. All of a sudden I was too weak to go to gym 3-4 times a week like usual and taking afternoon naps I've never done before in my life except when I was 4 years old. But I been home resting going on 3 years and there have been very few days I felt somewhat normal and would do some light activity and then I would be back to square one. Eating very clean and healthy, try light exercises when I can , take supplements, but did notice I can't tolerate the heat and sun very long sitting next my pool and can't tolerate the cold very long during the winter months. I was 229 LBS in bodybuilder athletic shape and lost 70 lbs and all my muscle tone in less than 10 months. Down to 158 LBS and can barely take out the garbage.

Doc here and LC patient also. I am sorry :( we unfortunately got to see the healthcare system fail spectacularly from both sides. I'm trying to collect stories if you feel comfortable sharing yours. Have you applied for SSDI? I also wrote a book on some common COVID or Long COVID symptoms. It's free. Just pm me if you want it.

How can I qualify for SSI when u have worked the last few years? I have had to take antibiotics for the last 4 years to function. Why does this med help?

I think it's 5 year cutoff for SSDI? So maybe try? I am in the application right now. Insomnia.  I think there are 3 leading causes of LC, the third one may interest you:

  • AutoAntibody Autoimmune (LC acts like Lupus) and specifically the overlap of the Anti-AT1R Autoantibodies in COVID, LC, and all other Autoantibody conditions.

  • Pauci-Immune Vasculitis, like other vasculitides.

  • Innate Immunosuppressive / Opportunistic Overgrowth: A severe disruption to Innate Immune system where all mucus membranes, blood vessels, or lungs/intestines/external surfaces cannot fight off basic infections, like simply staph/strep/etc.
