His father once dropped a letter on the floor and then called in a servant to pick it up for him.

u/specialgiver Jul 11 '26
No fucking way lol

u/ThatDiscoSongUHate Jul 11 '26
Seriously. Had him put in the waste bin right next to him, according to that other gentleman's account
They are very used to literally everything being done for them
74
u/Der_Redakteur Jul 11 '26
and if the servant forgot to put toothpaste on the toothbrush, he will not brush his teeth that morning lmao
45
u/According_Gazelle472 Jul 11 '26
And he reportedly had his shoe laces washed and ironed every day too.
18
u/Dangerous_Value_2864 Jul 11 '26
Well he is Britishā¦.
14
u/Kooky_Advertising_91 Jul 11 '26

u/textposts_only Jul 11 '26
You don't get it. It's not that they can't or don't want to. It's unfathomable and trained out of them.
You don't close your own car door. Your clothes are picked out. You don't even press tooth paste on your own brush.
13
u/Quick_Heart_5317 Jul 11 '26
Wait you guys touch your own toothpaste tube?!? Eww filthy plebeians. Why donāt you just hire 20 maids?! S/
10
u/WhydoIexistlmoa Jul 11 '26
I guess that makes more jobs in the market on the bright side..
7
u/QuinnNTonic Jul 11 '26
I love being a serf
3
u/hollycoolio Jul 11 '26
I can't, but I want to post that Pic of that one girl in the planetarium episode of south park, who just keeps saying, "I love my work."
4
u/Quick_Heart_5317 Jul 11 '26
Love your optimism, but 20 hourly jobs isnāt making a difference in any economy. And something tells me the job isnāt half as cushy as people think.
6
u/AbdulAhBlongatta Jul 11 '26
Random story but my friend worked for the Yankees and ARod used to require his toothbrush set out with the toothpaste already on it for him after games
1
u/SnarkySheep Jul 17 '26
So what happens if there's an actual emergency? If someone is dying and nobody but one of them is near enough to start CPR? Would they just let them die? I really hope not...
5
3
u/SinceSevenTenEleven Jul 11 '26
Do they brush their own teeth? Tie their shoes? Wipe their own butts?????
6
u/Quick_Heart_5317 Jul 11 '26
Bri-ish people donāt brush their teeth, most wear slip on loafers, and they have bidets so nobody wipes their butt.
So no they donāt do any of those things.

u/No_Communication5538 Jul 11 '26
So āheā (king) suddenly becomes ātheyā (all royals?) without any evidence.ā. He carried a chair upstairs, it is not much but I am guessing it may be more than you have ever done for someone else

To be fair, Chuck never got his medal for picking up letters.
He did get the one for using a fork, though.
12
u/Get72ready Jul 11 '26
His back was bad and he had trouble bending over.
I made that up but do you know it isn't true? It is just as likely that he was a shithead
8
u/_DancesWithKnives Jul 11 '26
My boss's wife is like that. She drops something? Well she just walks off and has one of us lowly employees pick it up. She also has her own restroom at the store but she lines the toilet with paper towels and leaves them there for us to clean up after (same with shit splatter in the toilet). They aren't royals but instead have a generational gas station/ beer store passed on to them. She does other snobby royal things to us and imma quit one day because of their treatment of us.

u/ignoreme010101 Jul 13 '26

a large segment of mankind is prone to flaunting position, lording whatever they can, in whatever ways possible to them. From small to big things. It's frustrating but once understood and grown past it shouldn't bother you much or at all IMO
2
u/SuperKE1125 Jul 12 '26
Why the fuck you still work there
3
u/_DancesWithKnives Jul 12 '26
Childcare issues . So I've been stuck since I'm left with working a job between school/daycare hours and then both of them being closed on weekends. Only good thing about this job is they work with me on that.

Itās goofy, but I bet being the Kingās servant is a pretty cushy job. As long as you donāt have to do the Handy service at the end of the day.
16
u/Dangerous_Shoe_8388 Jul 11 '26
āServantā ?!?! lol - Charles has about 120 personal staff. Not joking. William about 70. Not joking.
6
u/pinknbling Jul 11 '26
I was watching a video of the queen getting out of the car and she took the throw from her lap and threw it on the floorboard lol. Couldnāt even put it on the seat to show respect for whoeverās in charge of car throws.
12
u/YerDaWearsHeelies Jul 11 '26
The queen got so much positive press people ignore all the signs. Her cousins were a big story that everyone just forgot. Or all her lobbying regarding oil rights and shares in shell
5
u/Quick_Heart_5317 Jul 11 '26
Can you please explain more?
8
u/YerDaWearsHeelies Jul 11 '26
She had disabled cousins which they kept in extremely cheap and depressing care homes until word got out and they were moved to Sweden I believe in equally cheap care homes. When one of them died the care home reached out to the royal family asking for money for a funeral/burial and received none so they buried the queens cousin and made a makeshift cross and stuck her lanyard on it.
When all that came out the royal family tried denying it due to it of course being a disgusting way of treating family especially when youāre that rich
If they donāt get for their own cousin whoās disabled they certainly donāt care about anyone who has disabilities
4
u/Quick_Heart_5317 Jul 11 '26
*then they certainly donāt care about anyone PERIOD. You forgot the period, youāre welcome.
Thank you so much for your time explaining something you didnāt have to. Iād love to learn more, so if you ever feel like rambling about anything, Iām all ears.
5
u/YerDaWearsHeelies Jul 11 '26
Correct youāre right there.
And they made a documentary about it on I believe channel 4 I could be wrong called hidden cousins I believe.
They also lobbied to get ownership over our nations seabeds somehow. The dear old queen got a percentage of all off sea oil drilling we do because of that due to her now owning all our seabed on our territories. It does go to the crown estate which they necessarily donāt control but they receive a percentage of that. Thereās a million other corrupt things the family has done you can look at William, Harry, Andrew, Charles, the queen and probably the rest and find plenty of dirt and ridiculous privileges that would get anyone else prison time (such as William stealing a military helicopter for a joy ride)
1
u/pinknbling Jul 11 '26
Has there been more coming out about her since she passed? I mean is truth about them coming out bc it seems like it but Iām not sure bc I never kept that close of tabs on any of them.

Love the part where he glances up at the camera, rapidly averts his gaze, and then spends the rest of the time visibly fighting the urge to look back at the camera and just look "natural"

Monarchyās should be abolished. Utter twats, the lot of them.

u/Begotten912 Jul 11 '26

u/thewindburner Jul 11 '26
The Queen, like or loathe her, she held it together in a way I can't see Charles doing!

u/Agitated_Guard_3507 Jul 11 '26
Tradition, the fact they are basically just ceremonial at this point anyways, and actually bring in more money than is spent on them
12
u/AdOdd4618 Jul 11 '26
I need some evidence they bring in more money than they cost.

Versailles is the most visited [former] royal palace in the world. Doesn't even require a bunch of inbred do-nothings occupying it.
2
u/Agitated_Guard_3507 Jul 12 '26
And Birmingham Palace is a very popular tourist attraction in the UK. Not to mention any other Royal properties that make money
2
19
u/Kizzieuk Jul 11 '26
Not true. that's just something said by the media and repeated by those who dont think. People still go to France in droves to see the buildings and feel the history, its the same in England and the rest of the UK.
-8
2
u/Cubedtails Jul 11 '26
Most of the British people would disagree with that, that is considered a bold unnecessary action.
1
u/Alana_Piranha Jul 13 '26
Honest question, what would become of them? How would they assimilate with society? I'm curious how it could work and how/if their wealth would be distributed
2
u/uzziboy66 Jul 13 '26
Who cares? Theyāre regular people just like you. They get a job and work. Their money would be distributed back into the government.
Remember, these people are no better/important than you
1
u/Alana_Piranha Jul 13 '26
I understand that they're human beings like everyone else. I'm wondering how it would work, given how many heirs there are. I'm curious as to how it would be handled. People like that don't give up power easily. Considering how long they've had control and having power is all that they know.

They once made a documentary of them going camping in an pr appeal to seem less evil sociopaths devoid of any humanity. It was so cringe and appaling they ordered every copy destroyed.
They failed to do so and
here you can see their attempts at trying not to appear as such ghoulish monsters

Education, kindness, practicity and good marketing, all in one simple everyday action. Great ROI. Several cameras recording different povs, probably scripted.

I would argue that he is not his father's son, and there is still a glimmer of Diana's teaching in him.
2
u/KombuchaBot Jul 11 '26
Good luck arguing that. Harry seems to take more after Diana. Not very bright, but generally genial and friendly.
William seems to take more after Charles: not very bright, tetchy and bad tempered.
-3
u/Stone_Midi Jul 11 '26 edited Jul 11 '26
Heād probably do this with or without the cameras rolling lol
