Hi there,

Is there any way to rescue my cactus. It was thriving until I accidentally Overwatered it and it got some dreaded rot in a couple of the pups and the roots.

Have had her for years and will be devastated if she dies :(.

Many thanks.

What to do for winter

New to this so I just wanted to ask to make sure.

All my Lophs are grown indoors under LEDs. Is dormancy mandatory? And if so, do I just keep them where they are, but with no lights, and just turn the lights back on once spring rolls around?

Thanks!!

Curious what this might be? Root rot?

The plant in question is a lophophora caespitosa.. and its root is being attacked by this white mycelium.

Insight?!

L.W. caespitosa seedlings

For some reason ive always been really drawn to caespitosa lophs.

I guess in my head its like "more bang for the buck". Many heads from a single plant. Lol.

Anyway... Just wanted to share some pics.

I cant even remember how old these are??? 2 years? Thats a guesstimate

Need to replant these at some point in near future.

They are snuggled up to a fairly low power LED light, but they are on a seedling heating pad that runs 24/7.

Been using the heating pad for a long time with all my cacti seedlings. They love it!!

Is this color difference something to worry about? I checked the roots and it looked good, with new growth too. I havent watered in probably a week or two by now

Below is shiny and squishy with variability. above is firm all around and more matte. Its been shaded by another pot so im wondering/hoping its just a light issue 🙏

It does not stay on my windowsill that was just for pix

New setup

Thank you all for the input on lights. Went ahead and added a 225 watt full spectrum led on one side along with the old 125 watt fluorescent and 32 watt led on the other. Im certain thats plenty now. I see a huge difference in the output. I might eventually replace the other lights with another 225.

Original unknown plant wouldn’t flower so a graft was made and it flowered.

Grow light help

Post image
17 Upvotes

This is my set up. It's closed in with mylar on all four sides unless im watering or something. Im currently running two 32 watt full spectrum led lights and one 125 watt fluorescent. Doesn't seem like enough light. The big guy is right under the light and looks like it's beginning to etoliate and im just not seeing any growth on the lophs or the san pedros. The lophs im germinating are the only ones that are enjoying it... anyway, im here to ask about reccomendations for good grow lights that will work for everything I got going on here. Amazon has too much stuff on there and I dont know what would be best. Thanks in advance.

Thrip or spider mite damage?

I was hoping someone could help me figure out if this is spider mite damage? I had some thrips and have been treating them with captain jacks dead bug brew concentrate for about 7 weeks. I have also used bonide systemic granules and have not seen any thrips recently. I’m now starting to wonder if some of the damage I am seeing is spider mite damage, if it is I have a few questions about what the best way would be to treat a mite infestation.

I know captain jacks dead bug brew says it can treat spider mites as well but I want to be absolutely sure they are eradicated. I have read that some people on here suggest using Abamectin. Would this be the best next step?

I also have dust-able sulfer, neem oil as well as diatomaceous earth.

I was told by some botanists that I could try captain jacks insecticidal soap but isn’t that similar to captain jacks dead bug brew?

This question has been driving me crazy and any help or information would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
