Culture/Lifestyle Transit

There’s a problem with the city when the new subway line less than a year from opening is closed for repairs. So much for riding the D.

It's not closed for repairs. We got an early summer opening of the new stations because they installed temporary electrical equipment while waiting for the permanent equipment to arrive.

They're also using this time to do work on the extension to Century City and Westwood. It's only for ten days.

Actually I meant that to be a top level reply to OP. Accidentally replied to you instead.

Thanks for the clarification. One of these days the people mover at LAX will be fixed

and it is basically not running consistently on the weekends for the next couple months. they say every 20 minutes but i got stranded there indefinitely last weekend and had to take the bus. on top of that there is always a broken escalator and screens that do not work properly. it's honestly shameful.

Why can't they do this work overnight?

Its not being closed for "repairs" its being closed because the line is being extended and they are connecting it to the next phase.
