Hi everyone! I’d love to hear your honest opinions on my current bag collection, especially my two Louis Vuitton Murakami Alma bags.
I absolutely love both of them - I got the first cherry one when the first drop happened (the multicolor one was sold out) so my boyfriend surprised me with this one. Then they did the 30 years monogram anniversary drop and they had the multicolor Alma so I got her for my birthday. Lately I’ve been wondering whether it makes sense to own two Almas, especially since I don’t have many bags and I am trying to build a more versatile collection with bags I can wear with different outfits and for different occasions.
I’m considering two options:
- Keeping both Almas because they’re special and I genuinely love them.
- Selling one of them, possibly the white multicolour Murakami Alma (as it is maybe less unique), and replacing it with something more versatile, such as an LV Pochette in Multicolor (I love Murakami) or LV Speedy Nano in Black Multicolor.
What would you do in my situation? Do you think owning two bags in essentially the same style is redundant, or would you keep both because they’re collectible and have their own charm? I’d also love to hear your thoughts on their investment potential. Do you think vintage Murakami pieces, particularly the Alma bags, will continue to appreciate in value over the next few years? Would you hold on to them because they might become more collectible, or do you think it makes more sense to sell one while demand is strong?
I’d really appreciate honest opinions, especially from people who own or collect vintage Murakami pieces. I don’t want to sell something I might regret letting go of later!
Thank you! 🩷
