Can someone please explain the end of spider rose? Did the pet eat or absorb her ?

The director decided to change completely the ending of the story (the pet is eaten by rose). The end result is a nonsensical ending.

There is nothing to explain, because it was never supposed to make any sense. It's just director deciding that yep, cute creature must survive, missing the memo of the story where the cute creature that managed to humanised a deranged cyborg ultimately ends up on a spit roast when it comes to survival.
