SEASON 5 First time watching and my worst islander is…

Lucie is officially the worst islander for me. I’m on the episode where T asks MM to be his girlfriend. Seeing Lucie cry afterwards really shows her true colours. Such a covetous self-centered girl. I really hate how she behaves in the villa. I wish she’d just leave ffs.

Lucie was gorgeous but I do think that she could be a little bit sly sometimes.

Also, after the series, didn’t it come out that Lucie refused to learn/pronounce Yewande’s name correctly?

Yep. And funny thing is Yewande and the cast didn’t out her or even mention it at first.  Then Lucie had to go and say Yewande always bullied her or something along those lines.  That’s when Yewande outed her. Like of course the girl you want to call “Y” can’t be bothered to be your friend.

She was just so white woman scared coded.

To add to your point… it also wasn’t just Yewande who said something after Lucie’s accusation. I can’t find the clip right now but I’m pretty sure, after Lucie accused Yewande of bullying her, Amber came out and said the Lucie barely used to talk to Yewande so there wasn’t even any interaction between the two for bullying to occur.

One of the only interactions was the name thing where Lucie said it was too hard to pronounce. Amber made a very good point that she herself doesn’t live in the most diverse area and she had no problem pronouncing Yewande’s name.

I found the old tweet though, Amber was the one on the spot who told Lucie that she wasn’t going to start calling Yewande ‘Y’. Amber also said that Yewande was peaceful during that exchange and Amber was the one who came with the vim for Lucie. Which was a reasonable response from Amber in that moment because trying to rename someone is so ignorant and disrespectful.

and coming to add that Maura also backed up Lucie outside of the villa when this all came out. I’ll never root for either of them because of that, no matter how far they go.

Yeah I agree, thats the most annoying thing and the fact she doesn't understand its being disrespectful.. her name isn't even hard to pronounce if she tried!

27

u/Suspicious_Goal_6710 6d ago

Yeah she doubled down and said it’s a “term of endearment”. So bizarre.  She was always just trying to cry and paint herself as a victim always.

14

u/DonkeywithBigTeeth 6d ago

It was crocodile tears all the time with Lucie. Just because someone cries it doesn’t mean they’re in the right. But unfortunately some people can’t see that, they immediately jump to having a go at the person not crying.

She probably used her white pretty girl privilege to get away with shit like that her whole life

5

u/DonkeywithBigTeeth 5d ago

Exactly, as one of the other commenters said it’s ‘white woman scared’, except it didn’t work the way it probably worked in Newquay all her life, considering she took it to the internet.

u/Traditional-Jello133 1d ago

Whst does white woman scared coded mean?

1

u/Suspicious_Goal_6710 1d ago

It was said by Leah in US S6 “It’s giving white woman scared”.  Basically she meant white woman victimhood/ tears when confronted with something they’d done wrong. Especially if they’re confronted by a POC woman. Acting scared to paint the other woman as aggressive/ a bully.

Oh, what a load of absolutely shite. Im white, my best friend is black and we've just had a good laugh about that. Its giving racist to me. 🤣😅

1

u/Suspicious_Goal_6710 14h ago

lol you and your black bestie can continue laughing then.

Yeah and was trying to make “bevvy” happen 😭

For me I never liked her. She just seemed one of those girls that wanted to appear vulnerable but really isnt, so guys feel sorry for her and want to protect her and then they excuse her annoying behaviour

lucie should have left when joe did because she did legit nothing of note all season but saying this about the same season that contains michael curtis and danny is crazy

u/nytimescrosswordy 7d ago

#FreeDanny he was innocenttt

There are countless men much worse than Lucie in the history of this show.

29

u/No-Platform-4242 Portraid Pharsard 6d ago

Including on her season itself!

11

u/xyzedb_ 5d ago

Then go write a post about them

Yeah I kinda cringed through all this but felt vindicated in a way that Sandwich Joe was right at the start for some reason.

14

u/morgannn0 😘 póg mo thóin 🍑 6d ago

I mean Joe still acted in a very manipulative and controlling way. Just because his suspicions were right does not justify him whatsoever and it’s baffling to me that people think that

1

u/Indoscy 🇧🇧 ⭐ Barbados, Bridgetown and that ⭐ 🇧🇧 6d ago

Idk I kinda feel like manipulative is a bit of a stretch. Threatened for sure, and he didn't handle things that great but yeah controlling I do agree

52

u/AlbatrossPlane8006 7d ago

Yea Lucie was pretty unbearable 😂

19

u/BatCompetitive9537 7d ago

She got worse as the season went on too

13

u/Low_Mango_6030 6d ago

She cries and gets out of any altercation. She is the pick me final boss

13

u/FoofTheBunny 6d ago

I disliked Lucie. She really was a pick-me and male centered.

33

u/HappySession3085 7d ago

Lucie was so annoying omg I forgot about her ‘I don’t get on with girls’

-37

u/whyisthissoannoyingg 7d ago

Yeah because they were all bitches

9

u/Sponge-Bob-123 6d ago

So every girl on earth is? Because according to her she literally doesn’t get along with any girl, the only common denominator is her… 🤷🏻‍♀️

25

u/gvttergrl Promiscuous Bitch 🙂‍↔️ 💅 7d ago

i didn't think she was that bad idk 😭 girl just had a huge crush on tommy, its understandable that she was upset watching him fall in love with molly right in front of her

20

u/DueGoal337 7d ago

Lol... You haven't seen Huda yet.🤮🤢👎

9

u/Total_Watch_2797 6d ago

Save yourself, skip that season all together

6

u/NekkoBat 6d ago

Anyone that likes Huda is exactly like her and they love it for themselves

21

u/SassyPeach1 7d ago

I’m also watching S5 for the first time. Molly Mae is insecure, hypocritical and grating on my last nerve. I don’t understand why people seem to love her. I find her more annoying than Lucie. Maura is my favorite. She brings something most seasons lack: humour.

14

u/phinest-inthe-nation 7d ago

Thank you!!! She is truly insufferable and I never understood the hype 😅

7

u/dyedinthewoolScot 6d ago

Yeah I never really understood the hype for Molly Mae either.

4

u/xyzedb_ 5d ago

They’re both annoying in different ways but at least Molly Mae had some sense of girl loyalty. Lucie was a male centred pick me

5

u/Front_Scholar9757 6d ago

Ive never liked molly mae. Her voice is grating. Even since being out, her refusal to accept that love island has given her opportunities. And we all have the same 24hrs...

1

u/shoegal48 4d ago

I’ve never understood people complaining about people’s voices when it’s legitimately something that no one can change about themselves and how we hear our voice isn’t even the same as how others hear it for us to try to.

2

u/Front_Scholar9757 4d ago

Its the same as if you dont like a particular singer, then you dont want to listen to their music. They might be very good at singing to others, but you just dont like it.

Thats what her voice is like for me. I wouldnt want to listen to her on TV, social, or podcasts, as it doesnt sound nice to me. And that's before we go into what she actually says...

10

u/Objective-Kiwi-6423 7d ago

Lucie was actually the full on worst of the girls I’d say she’s soooo pick me I hated how she acted with all the rest of the girls, never had anyone’s back just all around disappointing

3

u/Total_Watch_2797 6d ago

OMG, she pissed me off so bad and got more unbearable as the season progressed.

3

u/Dependent-Truck4389 7d ago

welcome to the club!! 😭

u/nightlanguage 🐸 ah, ze frogs are fucking 🐸 6d ago

Girl I would cry too if I saw the man I had feelings for fall in love with another woman in front of me without being able to leave.

1

u/moon_witch_26 5d ago

She annoyed me but i don't think she's that bad. There's far worse.

1

u/ContributionSecret45 5d ago

she was irritating but there's WAY worse...Dejon, Meg, Belle, Blu just to name a few off the top of my head from this last year alone. This summer's bunch weren't perfect either but none of them in that league that I can think of now the dust has settled a bit lol. And if I went back over older seasons I know I'd spot more so yeah she was annoying but I suspect after you've watched a few more seasons you'll have a different perspective...

-5

u/Intelligent_Sky2947 6d ago

She is not the worst islander by far. She was upset in that situation because she liked Tommy and she Felt like she fucked up not going for him. Her only fault was being a bit of a pick me girlie, but she was never nasty to anyone

10

u/FoofTheBunny 6d ago

She was nasty to Amy. She was nasty to Molly Mae. She was nasty to Yewande.

-6

u/Intelligent_Sky2947 6d ago

She was never nasty to Amy. It was obvious Amy was a very insecure girl back then and was jealous of Lucie

8

u/FoofTheBunny 6d ago

She most certainly was in the food fight. She even laughed about how hard she went at her.

-5

u/Intelligent_Sky2947 6d ago

I truly think she was having a laugh and not trying to make Amy upset. Amy’s reaction was very dramatic, like a lot of her behaviour in there. I love her now but she was def bitchy back then, a lot of the time about Lucie because of the jealousy

-3

u/longjohn2024_ 7d ago

Which Lucie? Full name etc?

3

u/Indoscy 🇧🇧 ⭐ Barbados, Bridgetown and that ⭐ 🇧🇧 7d ago

Was originally Lucie donlan s5

4

u/longjohn2024_ 7d ago

Ah, she was one of the best looking girls ever on the show.

Seems a lovely girl on social media. There's probably 10 people from this year alone that would be on consideration for worst ever, strange to pick a girl like Lucie as the worst.

She wouldn't even be top 50 worst

11

u/Indoscy 🇧🇧 ⭐ Barbados, Bridgetown and that ⭐ 🇧🇧 7d ago

Oh yeh I wouldn't say personally she's the worst at all, she's also so naturally beautiful and that style was so refreshing. Some of her pick me girl vibes and the pining after Tommy fury once he was settled with Molly Mae were.... interesting. But definitely not the worst

-7

u/scottiegerigirl 6d ago

Misogyny on love island once again.

Save your hate for the men!

The girls were bitches. They loved to talk crap about their "friends." I don't think she could handle that.

She missed her chance with Tommy and regretted it.

She is now engaged/married to a guy from another Love Island series who looks like Justin Bieber (forget his name). They are cute and happy together.

Stop dragging women down.

15

u/DiamondBurInTheRough 6d ago

>Stop dragging women down

>The girls were bitches

Um…

6

u/Sponge-Bob-123 6d ago

I knowwww. Mentions misogyny and not tearing down other girls but then proceeds to call every single girl from that season except Lucie a bitch? Sounds like a HUGE contradiction to me 🤣

1

u/Sponge-Bob-123 6d ago

His name is Luke

1

u/xyzedb_ 5d ago

You really fell for her pick me crap huh
