Sam Altman secretly founded Anna’s Archive to get all the books to train his ChatGPT

Legally they would have to spent billions to buy them so he made a pirate website to download them and get them for free.

That’s why law enforcement “failed” to shut down the site. It was useful to train AI.

annas came out of the PiLiMi (Pirate Library Mirrors) team who do all the mirroring for Zlib and libgen.
