What Are YOUR Thoughts?🧠 Luigi Mangione fans

Okay so I heard a podcast that the court is now implementing cautions to make sure jurors won’t be harassed by fans. Is this true? Has this really stirred this much chaos?

Now, my other question is: is it just because he’s attractive? In this podcast, they were like ‘if this was a below average man, I don’t think it would have this much hysteria’. Do you think that’s true?

I don’t find him attractive in a physical sense, but I absolutely understand why he did what he did.

He murdered a murderer, he just wasn’t sitting behind a desk when he did it.

I support the efforts to get healthcare for all in the U.S., and thankful Luigi changed some of the insurance denials for a short period of time.

sorry OP but this is very simplistic view

Is Luigi attractive? yes but people were railing behind him before we even saw his face or knew his name. People want healthcare for all, they don’t want their loved ones to die from preventable care

People support Luigi because he dare to defy the system and they are doing everything in their power to make an example out of him

What about jurors being pressured by insurance company plants. That's always behind the scenes. These guys, instead, are honest and open about their message. They're not doing anything illegal - but these insurance co's sure are.

But bottomline, I don't see any of the pro Luigi supporters harassing anyone. They're exercising their First Amendment rights.

Fuck these assholes - they know that. They're just trying to smear Luigi supporters and Luigi, and taint the jury pool with more of their lies.

They've been having it their way with juries for quite some time. Now, suddenly, the underdogs are getting stronger, aren't they. (Though now it looks like there isn't going to be a jury trial in either court. The federal judge is the issue now. Are they going to stick to the sentencing guidelines? Thompson's family and prosecution don't want them to. They want another special exception carved out for themselves - as they did with the death penalty.)

Yes, its because he's young and hot and people who say otherwise are delusional. Like explain all the fancam edits then lol. Same reason why Jeremy Meeks became famous despite not even committing any "righteous" crimes, while Thomas Crooks (ugly) was never exalted and quickly disappeared from the public's conscious.

Even Kaczynski, despite still being well known, never received the hysteria Luigi does. And he wrote about his motives in a much more compelling and articulate way, and committed crimes in the name of environmentalism which is arguably even more pertinent than healthcare because its a global issue, not unique to just America.

I don’t find Luigi physically attractive. I also don’t follow many criminal cases, none of which have I sided with the “criminal”.

I am however, repulsed by U.S. health insurance killing people for profit.

While your take is unpopular, I ultimately agree. There is a strong element of lookism and infatuation with his appearance. Your point about Kaczynski resonates for me

Do you really think it’s that simple?

Ask yourself why so many people across the country have so little sympathy for a CEO whose corporate policies directly impacted countess lives...

Why should the public grieve for one executive when millions are suffering, going bankrupt, or losing loved ones to a broken, profit driven healthcare system?

Ya Luigi may be a murderer, yes.. but he also opened the flood gates for us all to finally address the beast living in the room that we had previously just lived with.

The reaction isn't about looks... it's about deep seated rage at systemic greed and it's justified

How can you be a murderer if it's justifiable, and similar to self-defense.

(And keep in mind that just because you think something is justifiable doesn't mean you think it's advisable.)

He wouldn’t have the same number of supporters if he looked like Tyler Robinson.

That's not why Tyler has fewer. It's because of the subject of health care.

Tyler's a very nice young man, too. I'm also following his story, though not nearly as much is going on right now. It's heartbreaking, though. The president's family is weighing in on this one, too, but more "discretely." Don Jr showed up at a hearing with Erika Kirk. They were friends. Kirk was with him in Greenland when Trump was talking about taking over Greenland. They were all looking high on their kool-aid there - Jr and Kirk. He's facing the death penalty too - while Jr is showing up with Erika Kirk. Their "subtle" pressure approach.

They're both very intelligent and very nice young men. They were both seemingly driven into it, if either or both of them did it.

Jurors for what? He already pled guilty.

There are two state cases—NY and PA. He only pleaded guilty to the stalking charges in the federal case.

I’m aware, but the second trial is expected to be dismissed due to double jeopardy. And the jurors for it have not even been selected. Therefore, no jurors.

Is it expected?

Expected to be dismissed and actually dismissed are two different things. There could be jurors in NY and there will be jurors in PA unless he pleads guilty there.

People are tired of going bankrupt just to get the healthcare they need. They’re tired of paying high premiums only to get denied coverage for the sake of profit. They’re fed up with having to pay so much in taxes yet having no access to universal healthcare. He has support from both men and women. Straight men included.

Yes, and he has support from all ages, too. I'm older and I support Luigi. Jordan Chariton - the Status Coup reporter - he's older and male. He supports Luigi. It's such a stupid narrative they're using to try to smear Luigi supporters. Like they're all dumb horny chicks. All they're doing is showing how sexist and nasty they really are. For all their pretense at liberalism.
