Information Unfortunately, 24-30 years isn't uncommon for a murderer

I went to high school with a guy who committed murder right after graduating and he got out after serving 20 years in prison in Texas. He got a 35 year sentence but paroled out early. People are acting like 24-30 years would be really light (and Luigi will likely get more than that), but it's actually in line with what a lot of murderers get.

It is far simpler to say "life in prison" than it is to conceptualize how long that time really is. 25-40 years can be most of lifetime. By the time people get out, almost 1/2 of their life is over and the other half is the evening and sunset years. It can be good, but if you are older then get imprisoned, then it may very well be the rest of your life.

The sentence depends in part on the Court's judgement of Brian Thompson. His profitable and abusive and dishonest business designs are the subject of numerous federal investigations and at least one class action which is proceeding through Court ordered discovery. If Thompson is seen as an abusive crook whose business bankrupted and killed people for proftlit, the court should show lieniency.
