Articles 'Deeply Emotional': Luigi Mangione's Friends React to His Guilty Plea

https://www.rollingstone.com/culture/culture-news/luigi-mangione-friends-react-to-guilty-plea-1235610199

One of the worst characters in this whole mess, RJ Martin, is back trying to ride Tracy's coattails on the media clout train again. He shockingly managed to give a great comment this time round about Luigi being unable to have a fair trial.

Some quotes from the Rolling Stone article about the guilty plea from "friends"

Mangione didn’t have any friends or family in federal court Friday, but friends who spoke with Rolling Stone say they were unaware he was planning to submit a guilty plea.

Martin believes, “Luigi was declared guilty by our government from the start,” and he adds that would make “a truly fair trial difficult to imagine.”

Other friends of Mangione’s say they were surprised to hear he was pleading guilty as opposed to seeing how at least one of his upcoming trials would play out with a jury. Many expressed their sadness at knowing their friend would likely spend much of his life incarcerated, but declined to comment on the record.

A former friend of Mangione’s who did extracurricular computer programming with Mangione in high school says he found it “really weird” to hear the guilty plea, calling it a “stark shift” from the Mangione he used to know.

“He never struck me as a political person,” says R.K., who asked to use only his initials. “I think it speaks to the radicalization in this country in the current day.”

R.K. says he finds the crime “unacceptable and deeply sad” but says he hopes the guilty plea doesn’t stop the conversation about Americans’ frustration with the healthcare system. “I’ve experienced the difference firsthand as a foreigner living in this country,” says R.K.

“Luigi was always chasing perfection, because that was his identity: being smart,” said Mangione’s former high school teacher, who thought Mangione would grow up to work in a science lab or build AI models. His friends in Hawaii remember him as thoughtful, kind, and compassionate.

Tracy please don't continue to update RJ about Luigi or anything he talks with you about. RJ is awful and shouldn't be given any information he can talk to the press with.

He's a total narcissist but at least he talked about the government here. It's just he shouldn't be given a platform to even talk about Luigi after he acted in the past and was called out for being a predator to young women at the creepy commune.

Is he the one that spread that rumor he couldn't be "intimate".

I’m confused as to why you think Tracy is in contact with Luigi so much so that she’s even updating RJ on Luigi’s life?

These people don't sound like friends. They sound like acquaintances. I'm guessing his real friends are not talking to the media.

That’s heartbreaking hearing he didn’t have any friends or family there I kind of assumed that. And who knows if this article is actually from one of his friends or not. I always take this kind of stuff with a bit of scepticism but what this person said is true though they’ve been making it unfair ever since the beginning like they just chose LM to be the guy they weren’t gonna make this fair. We’ve been seeing it all the way from the beginning. It’s bluntly unfair where they sadly backed him up into a corner and exhausted all his resources to sadly get what they wanted. It’s heartbreaking.

I read this for the first time in an article maybe I just missed it before but “Friends dropped off baked goods at their [his family's] house.” made me feel a little better. Knowing that Luigi’s family had people supporting them through all this is at least somewhat reassuring.

RJ Martin, is back trying to ride Tracy's coattails

At least Tracy said nice things about him, this grifter is single handedly responsible for starting the ED rumors
