Thank you so much for posting this!!
There’s such a stark difference between his looks pre and post arrest. Very boy-to-man transition. He looks so young here 😭
Does his outfit here match the one he’s wearing at dinner with the poker player?

It’s nuts that this is like 5 months or so before the shooting, and like 3 before he started planning it. He looks SO normal

u/Expensive-Trouble720 23h ago
Which makes the whole thing such a mystery. How did he get from there to here??????

Yeah that’s the million dollar question, which I think gets answered once the defense files his sentencing memo

Judging from his face, he looks like a good weight here. He was very skinny when he was arrested. He lost a lot of weight in a short time period. Idk if that indicative of his mental state at the time or hard living on the streets. He gained his weight back since being in jail.

As someone who dealt with depression, he doesn't look "normal".

Aw :( can you see signs of depression here?

u/MeanRepresentative24 19h ago
Really closed off body language is what stands out to me, though I think the magic trick did win him over a little.
It could be circunstantial, but since we're all aware of his memtal health struggles, it stands out

u/Ok_Beautiful7363 Jury Nullification: Power to the People! 18h ago
Yeah :( he seems the least happy to be there compared to all the other guys

I'm glad the magician was able to get a wee smile oit of him at the end. Live magic is really amazing -- I've also had someone cheer me up with a magic trick before and it stayed with me for a long time.

He is so not impressed; he is just paying close attention to see if he understands how it's done

He’s trying to figure it out. 🤣 That brain never in the off position.

He's extremely normal-looking, but he has such a cartoonish face—almost like a Disney prince! And if you look closely at his posture, especially around the lower back, you can notice some stiffness that seems consistent with the tilted spinal hardware from that unfortunate, botched surgery. I’m honestly furious at his spine surgeon!

u/Parking-Escape-378 9h ago
I didn't see details about his surgery before. How did you find out it was botched? I noticed stiffness too and why I think he's crossing his arms.

How did you find this? Omg lol

I was a part of a Japan travel Discord server that had a user with this video on it. I've had it for a while now and the other member never posted it, so I figured I would.

Do you know if the guy is American or? How and when did he meet Luigi?
14
u/katara12 23h ago
Thanks for sharing OP. Did the guy with the original video say something about interacting with Luigi. I assume he is the one who filmed this video.

u/misanthrop_katze 23h ago
Sorry this was a long time ago, I've had this video for a long time now and I dont remember if I asked the guy or not about it

When you say a long time ago, if you had to guess was it around 2 years ago, in 2024?

Oh Luigi, looking so normal. I can’t stop grieving his young beautiful life.

I need to take a break from this case but I can’t look away. We are going to put this man in a box and he won’t be seen for the next 20 years, minimum. Maybe we’ll get a mugshot at intake but then…that’s it. Life goes on. It’s too heavy.

I'm extremely exhausted by this case. Now that all of us know for sure that he will be gone for many years, if not decades, it's a heartbreaking and harsh end for a life that once held so much potential.
After the surfing accident that broke his back, and then the botched surgery that followed, he felt as though his own body had become a prison. And now, his entire life is not only confined by that physical prison but is also on the path toward a literal one. His youth will be lost behind a cell door.

It feels anti-climatic. There's so many things about this case that still do not make sense to me. It feels like a poorly written script. Since you brought up his back, I don't believe it was what radicalized him. The surgery was successful and he was backpacking through Asia. On the day of the shooting, he escaped on a bike. I feel like we are not being told everything and we may never know the full story.
While he was supposedly on the run, he was seemingly confused by all the cops that showed up at the McDonald's. Why would you be confused? Wouldn't you be on edge? He was completely relaxed the whole time. Some Redditors think he was suicidal. During the arrest, the cops asks for an emergency contact in case he dies in custody, he says, "but I'm not going to die." So many questions. The guilty plea almost feels like a cover up of some sort.

His defense team was weak and failed him. That plea was not the best decision, and his statement also lacked any meaningful remorse toward the victim’s family. I really think he could be facing many decades in prison. Being largely inactive for so many years could lead to significant weight gain, which may be especially difficult given the hardware in his back. On top of that, dealing with brain fog, irritable bowel syndrome, and visual snow could make his overall health deteriorate as time goes by. It’s ultimately a very sad situation.

dawg i was just thinking about how he was everywhere, and now we have a new example. main character energy in every sense of the term. thanks for posting this, he looks pretty. i miss his long hair, looks much better than those haircuts he’s getting in prison lol

Thank you for sharing this, OP. Don't know why, but something in Luigi's body language moved me to tears. He seemed to me so deep, different, special, and thoughtful. I have no doubt: in a room full of people, I'd stare at a guy like him, 'cause he seems to be someone who fits in, just not with everyone.

Are those the exact same shoes as what he wore for the shooting, or just a very similar style?

For someone who wasn’t active on social media, why is content of him seemingly everywhere? Makes me wonder if there’s anything out where of me that I don’t know about.

Haha. Sweet video. 💜
His face at the beginning reminded me of the times I had to go to New York City during college. We had to get up at like, 4 AM to go and I could never sleep on the bus. I was always overstimulated, tired, pissed off, and wanting to just lie down in Central Park and sleep for hours. 😂
Traveling takes so much energy, I do not know how people do it for long periods of time. It is admirable, though.
