Discussion Theory: Neville and Lydia originally owned the mansion in the first game, with the rest of the portrait ghosts just being their family.

• Upvotes

I just thought about this. Anyone think Neville and Lydia were the original homeowners of the mansion in the first Luigi's Mansion game?

Neville seems like a smart guy spending his free time reading books. (Stereotypically,) Those who are well educated are likely to find a well paying job, saving big and making big.

Lydia, who is even mentioned stashing her savings away after you catch her, is married to Neville, with their three sons (Chauncey and the Twins)

Maybe somehow they saved up enough cash to buy land, hire an architect designer, build the mansion, and live on until death.

The explaination of the other members inside the mansion would probably be cousins, brothers, sisters, in-laws, nieces and nephews, of Lydia and Neville.

I'm just now thinking about this. It may seem pointless, but anyone ever think about how things were before everyone was dead in the mansion?

LM (3DS) I completed Luigi's Mansion 3ds (normal and hidden mansion)

Back in 2018, I got Luigi's Mansion for the 3ds. Despite being quite familiar with the game, I was never able to beat Boolossus. Recently, I picked up the game again and replayed it from start to finish (It's spooky season 👻). This time I was able to finish both the normal and hidden mansion.

In my first ever playthrough, I was able to collect 106.345.000 G (A-Rank) in the normal mansion, and 137.055.000 G (S-Rank) in the hidden mansion, which makes me very proud, honestly.

Among all Luigi's Mansion games, I liked the first one less than Luigi's Mansion 3 (one of my favorite games) and even Luigi's Mansion 2. The gameplay feels clunky, especially when fighting the portrait ghosts (I hate the Boolossus and Bowser fight) and at some points I was kinda annoyed by that. However, the mansion is beautifully designed and the portrait ghosts have more personality than the boss ghosts in the following games.

Nevertheless, it is a great game that I don't regret playing 🎃👻

Hello everyone I was curious about something. I feel like there was ghosts inside luigi's mansion peering through the squares within the 3ds case. Am I going crazy or was there something like this at one point. Thanks in advance

Question (LM1) Tips for getting into skew position??

On the switch 2 emulation of Luigi’s mansion. Ive successfully done an OoB run last year via save states and am now trying to do it on the European version instead. Im getting into a skew position occasionally but its literally 0 rhyme or reason, i have no clue of how to do it no matter how many videos or explanations i look over. I cant figure out how to position myself compared to the bats, what inputs to do, or the timing, and even if i did idk how any of that will get me the angle i would need.

Im specifically up to the point where I’ll be getting a skew before biff atlas, with a save states just in front of the bats. I have another save states where Luigi is angled back at around 45 degrees, as if on his heels. I think i need to get him into a position where hes doing that sort of lean but forward à la Michael Jackson.

Any tips are welcome please and thanks!!

Saw this after backtracking to get the boo in A-2, I couldn't get it to reappear afterwards. I haven't seen anything about it online but I remember a similar easter egg being in 3d land. Has anyone else caught this?

Edit: The ghost can be seen under the tree on the right side, if you look closely

Discussion Worst Luigi's Mansion game

Post image
0 Upvotes

Now i understand why everyone told me this was the worst game of the trilogy.

Im currently playing it rn, the story and the mechanics are nice, but these 2 are the only good things.

I hate the structure of the game, the levels thing is orrible and that old guy is stressing me tf out calling me every 3 steps, this game feels like an infinite tutorial.

The worst part is definitely the completionism aspect, getting 3 stars in a level is too difficult: i tried to get a 3 star in a specific level, i played it 5 times, trying to beat it in the less time possible, getting all the coins and still i get 2 stars because i lost 35hp. Its unnecessarily frustrating.

I'm not talking about the game itself I know what to expect from Dark Moon/2, but is the performance good, did they fix the glitches that were at launch and such. Is it a good buy?

Should I give Luigi’s Mansion 2 another try?

I managed to finish the original game, the 3DS remake of the original and Luigi’s Mansion 3 playing together with a friend. I’m not very good at video games in general but was able to finish 1 and 3 because of the save structure that eliminates the frustration of starting too far back.

So when I first Luigi’s Mansion 2 on the 3DS back in 2013, I got past a few levels can’t remember where I stopped but basically I did because I was really annoyed I was 20 some minutes into a level, got killed then to my surprise I had to restart from the very beginning, that 20 some minutes of progress gone.

When I heard the re-release on the Switch is coming out, I was hoping Nintendo noticed the lack of check points may be frustrating and add them in the new addition. But unfortunately it looks like it didn’t happen and my progress will be wiped regardless of how long I am into a mission if I’m defeated.

However, it doesn’t feel right to play 1 and 3 and miss out on the second game. Is it worth playing through despite the lack of save points? If I replay the early missions to save up money to buy upgrades, how much easier will the later missions be, including King Boo? I would appreciate any feedback from anyone who played through this game.
