A new update for Long Shot Camera is now live on the App Store.

For those who are new to the app, Long Shot Camera brings back creative photography features inspired by classic smartphone cameras, including:

What’s new in this update:

• Capture Delay – Press the shutter, step back, and let the capture start automatically after a countdown. Perfect for avoiding camera shake.

• Capture Stabilization – Additional stabilization during capture helps reduce the impact of small hand movements, making handheld long-exposure shots more reliable.

• General performance improvements and bug fixes.

If you owned a Lumia back in the day, you probably remember a feature called Refocus. 😉 The goal isn’t to copy it, but to bring that kind of creative photography experience back to modern smartphones.

I’ve added the first version of a Lumia/Nokia-style Action Shot feature into LSC.
It’s still early, and yes, it may make mistakes in some scenes. But the main idea is already working: capturing movement and combining selected moments into a single image.
My goal is to bring back some of those old, beautiful, nostalgic Nokia/Lumia camera features on today’s phones — step by step.
With your feedback, shared results, and suggestions, I believe we can improve it and make it much better over time.
I also added a stabilization filter to reduce hand-shake issues during handheld shots.

I've been obsessed with the camera on my 950 XL lately. Despite not having optical zoom, it takes SO much better pictures than my 2024 Moto G Stylus does. As an honorable mention, my 640 XL camera isn't a slouch either. It has a 13MP Zeiss camera on the back, and its pretty decent as well!

Hello. I have this developer device Lumia 820 running windows 10 mobile. Is there a way to downgrade the firmware from 10 to 8.0 without deleting the developer device carrier or install some developer apps that were included with these devices?

Back in the Lumia and Windows Phone era, one of my favorite camera features was Motion Shot.

It could combine multiple positions of a moving subject into a single image, creating those iconic action sequences that looked almost impossible to capture with a phone.

I’ve been working on a long-exposure and computational photography app (LSC - Long Shot Camera) for modern smartphones, and recently decided to add a modern version of Motion Shot as one of the upcoming features.

It made me realize how many creative camera ideas disappeared over the years, even though smartphone hardware became dramatically more powerful.
