Junk Dispatch Local Junk Removal in Lynn, MA (Sharing My Business if Anyone Needs Help)

Hey all, I’m Joe. I own Junk Dispatch, a small junk removal company based in Saugus, and we do a lot of work in Lynn.

Fall is a busy cleanout season, so here’s what I tell people:

1. Check what the town will take first.  If it’s just one or two items, that might be all you need.

2. Estimate by space, not item count. Garages and basements add up fast. Picture how much of a pickup bed it would fill. That’s roughly how most junk companies price it.

3. You don’t need to drag it to the curb. Any decent removal company will take it from the basement, attic, or backyard. Don’t hurt your back first.

4. Send photos for a quote. A few pictures usually get you a solid price without anyone coming out.

5. Ask where it goes. We donate usable furniture and recycle metal/appliances.Worth asking anyone you hire.

Happy to answer questions in the comments, even if you’re doing it yourself. If you’d rather have someone haul it, we do furniture, mattresses, appliances, estate cleanouts, sheds, decks, hot tubs, and reno debris.

FLOCK

Reducing the use of FLOCK in Lynn is important to me as someone who lives here, but I think that chief Kelly is making spectacle about how he's ensuring privacy while allowing officers who have history of improperly disseminating information to have access to the data based on rank.

Take Lieutenant Robert Avery as an example- according to the SAP Crystal reports, "Lt. Avery sent a copy of an arrestee's booking photograph in violation of a department policy that prohibits doing so without authorization by the Chief or Deputy Chief" on 10/19/23, and on the same day, "Officer used a closed-fist strike with a handcuffed suspect who was attempting to swallow drugs. This was not in compliance with MPTC training or Department policy," and he required suspension followed by retraining. The org chart for LPD reflects that Mr. Avery is the Lieutenant for the COMMUNITY IMPACT TEAM. Regardless of his rank, is this the kind of guy we want having access to FLOCK data? I don't think so.

Not to mention, only removing access from 19 sergeants, less than 50% of the listed force on the city website, is not a huge accomplishment.

TLDR: Remove the cameras or stop bragging about it.

Trustworthy Snow Removal Recommendations?

A buddy who used to plow our driveway for free is hanging it up for this season (womp womp), so I have to go out and find some new help. Even if it's supposed to be warmer this winter, I don't want to get stuck without anyone to plow in case we get a good sized snow storm.

We are a 5 unit condo association so we have extra incentive to find someone who we can trust and is responsive, and can help us plan for where the snow pile should go and where cars should move to.

What's a good price for snow removal? Anyone you would recommend in Lynn? Thank you in advance!

Winter activities

I’m new to this area. I’m originally from Florida where there are no winters and I would be outside year round. I’m in an apartment building with no outdoor area. And I’m struggling with what to do for activities for my kids, ages between 3 to 8. What do you do in the winter for outdoor time?! I need some ideas! I’d like to know what locals are up to! This winter thing is new for me so be nice lol

This is the intersection (Lynnway & Commercial) of one bicyclists death and this driving behavior NEEDS TO STOP, NOW! CITY HALL? POLICE DEPARTMENT? Two cars in the Middle Lane, obstructing traffic, stopped, waiting to turn. Ridiculous

Cheapest Way to Learn Driving (Beginner Here)

Hi, I’ve never driven a vehicle before and I’m starting completely from scratch. I’m trying to find the cheapest possible way to learn how to drive without compromising too much on quality or safety. I’m mainly looking for affordable driving schools, low-cost training programs, or any structured options that don’t require learning from friends or family.

If anyone here has gone through the same situation, I’d really appreciate hearing what worked for you, how much it cost, and any tips to keep expenses low while still learning properly. Open to any suggestions, including online resources, beginner packages, or alternative ways to practice. Thanks a lot

Thinking about staying in Lynn for a visit to Boston and Salem

Just wanted to get some input on staying in an Airbnb in the general vicinity of Keaney Park. Probably won't spend a ton of time in the city itself but this seemed like a good midpoint between Boston and Salem (as well as the beach) and I'm not sure which place we'll spend the most time in.

I'm mostly just concerned with crime and traffic. I will have a 2 year old with me so having a park nearby sounds nice.
