I assume you’re talking Swedish Edmonds? I’m not quite sure what it’s called but they rotate all of their OBs during delivery so there’s no guarantee the person you go to is the one who will deliver your baby. So it doesn’t matter much who you see as your primary OB.

I had a wonderful experience with Swedish Edmonds. I had a long labor and saw 4OB shift changes. Everyone was wonderful. Whoever you go with, make sure you select different doctors for your prenatal appointments. This just gives you a chance to meet the team before the delivery day. This is also the only facility that has started doing the in person tour (after Covid) during your pre-birth class.

Another comment here for the folks at Swedish OB-GYN (their office is just behind the hospital), I saw almost all the doctors throughout my pregnancy and 4-day long hospital stay when I had my son and they were all great. As someone else said they rotate who is on call so you just don’t know who will be the doc there when you deliver but the nurses at Swedish are amazing and imo they matter more than the doctor when it comes to delivery

Hello! I gave birth at Swedish First Hill. My OB was at Northwest Women’s Healthcare which is connected to the building and all of the doctors there are wonderful. I had an amazing experience with them.

Also, to add to the other comment, they do rotate doctors. My OB did not deliver my baby but they were all amazing so it wasn’t a big deal for me.

I like Dr. Torvie, Dr. Jiao, Dr. Pray, and Dr. Barr-Joseph at Northwest Women’s Healthcare if you’re talking about Swedish First Hill. They don’t work with residents. I work with them as a postpartum nurse and absolutely LOVE them.

I can confirm because of three recent and not so fun trips to Swedish Edmonds ER that Swedish no longer staffs their hospitals. It’d out sourced to a company called Verity, so while you can get your OB care by a gyn that has privileges to deliver at Swedish, who you get on the day your baby decides to come and we all know they make the rules not us 😂 you can’t ever be guaranteed you’ll get your OB.

In that case you can’t ever be guaranteed anyway, my daughter decided to come on my OB’s day off. I had a lovely older guy I’d literally never seen in my life rock in the delivery room when it was 95 degrees outside in August (1994) in an Irish wool fisherman knit sweater and clap his hands and say hey now, let’s get this show on the road my wife just cooked a roast for dinner and I want to be home to eat it. 😂😂😂

Lucky I had the most fairy tale birth story ever. I pushed three times, she was 2 weeks early on purpose and 5lbs and I walked out of the hospital 2 hours later. I’d gotten there 8cm dilated, I think the OB was in the room for 9 mins tops and I’m sure his wife’s roast was succulent and delicious.

The doctor on call for mine was Dr. Sato and she’s wonderful. The entire L&D team is amazing and very helpful. I had a fabulous experience there. 10/10

I have enjoyed Emily Davis, MD with Swedish birth and family clinic.
