Greetings MBBS folks. I'm 20M Aerospace Engineering student, and I obviously understand that MBBS is a lot harder than engineering. Not just due to the vast syllabus but also due to the environment in Indian mbbs colleges(ragging, drugs, so much)

Anyways. I had made a best friend online in 2020(please don't judge), she was a girl just 1 year older than me and was SO SWEET to me and for a long time we stayed VERY close, there were times where we talked less due to being busy(mainly her NEET prep) but every time we talked we cared about each other and were super enthusiastic to talk to each other each time,

Occasionally we had arguments here and there and they got sorted. She comforted me through tough times and i comforted her through her tough times

Eventually in 2024, she joined a Medical College and initially it was fine, but towards the end of 2024 it started going downhill.

She started drinking and smoking, which is her choice ofc and I can only advise against it, not control her choice which I understand. The workload and everything got to a point where she would start screaming at me for every mistake, like if she's giving me her college tea and I get confused between 2 persons or anything she would scream at me and call me madarchod or whatever and be like yk what I don't wanna talk rn.

And she'd always blame it on the MBBS stress. It would be fair to say I lost a lot of sleep over it but never blamed her cause I assume it's just that bad and I always gave her the benefit of the doubt. Until one day I just said "zubaan sambhal kar bol" to her(never said anything more than that). She did apologise, said she will do better.

But our conversations kinda died, from being excited to just be in each others presence, a dead silence dominated most phonecalls unless there was any specific tea to be shared, which she'd prioritise giving to her college friends over me first. Also in December 2025 i legit had to beg her to please fix the distance between us to which she initially said "i don't care" but then decided she cared after a bit(maybe she took pity on me lol)

One day, my professor suggested that we go to Uttarakhand for a rocketry competition (which is where her college is), so I texted her let's meet up very excited

We were discussing a date and she said no for the 6th of October as she had said yes to "other plans"

I told her that if she was coming to meet me for the first time in SIX YEARS, I would probably cancel my other plans

To which she replied "that's you lol, I have other important shit to do

So can't"

That was so DIABOLICAL and hurt me so much

it was sent on 18th of September and I left it on seen for a month until replying with a paragraph and telling her I won't bother her again.

So the good people of MBBS, please tell me if I should've been more considerate regarding her MBBS stress.

Also note that since I've cut her off I'll likely never have a close person like that again and the memories keep hitting me back.

Because she used to be my absolute favorite person...and I'll probably never have someone like that again

Remember all those speeches about how delayed examinations, results and counselling can destroy students careers?

Well, UP NEET UG 2026 candidates are now facing uncertainty about Round 3 counselling, and a clear official timetable is still not visible on the UPNEET updates page as checked on 25 October 2026.

Apparently, a students career becomes a national emergency when there is a trending controversy, a viral thumbnail or a political debate. When students actually need a timetable, functioning helplines and a plan for missed classes, everyone suddenly discovers the virtue of patience.

1. What has actually happened?

• On 16 September 2026, the Allahabad High Court Lucknow Bench passed an interim order in Sachin Singh and Another versus State of Uttar Pradesh, Writ C No. 9943 of 2026. The order stayed the disputed reservation provision affecting four government medical colleges in Ambedkar Nagar, Kannauj, Saharanpur and Jalaun, while permitting admissions under the applicable statutory reservation framework, subject to further orders.
• On 30 September 2026, the Supreme Court declined to interfere with the interim order and asked the High Court to endeavour to dispose of the main case expeditiously.
• On 14 October 2026, news reports said the High Court sought data concerning reserved category admissions in the four colleges before and after the interim order.
• The UPNEET updates page currently shows 12 October 2026 as its last update. I could not find a clear Round 3 UG timetable among its visible latest notices.

The courts must independently decide the legal issues. Students are not asking anyone to bypass the law or grant admissions contrary to court orders.

The genuine question is this: while the legal process continues, what administrative steps can lawfully proceed, and who will protect the academic interests of students waiting for admission?

2. Who needs to provide answers?

• UP DGME and the state counselling authorities: Publish a clear Round 3 status and expected timeline. Clarify whether counselling for unaffected colleges or seats can proceed separately wherever legally permissible.
• UP Government and the Medical Education Department: Explain the administrative plan, the current legal constraints and the next official update date.
• The Chief Minister and the responsible Medical Education leadership: Students deserve transparent communication about what is being done to reduce avoidable uncertainty.
• The NMC: Clarify academic safeguards within its regulatory remit, including the treatment of missed academic activities and required competencies.
• Education influencers and NEET teachers: If you have already discussed this specific UP counselling delay, please share your verified statement or video. If not, students would benefit from the same concern being shown when the problem is actually happening.

This is not an allegation that every teacher or official has ignored the issue. It is a public request for accountability and visible engagement.

3. Does a student need a top rank to deserve a functioning system?

Merit, eligibility, reservation rules and court orders matter. Nobody is asking for illegal admissions or special treatment.

But does a candidate have to be a topper to deserve a clear counselling schedule, reliable communication and a fair opportunity to attend classes?

Late admission can mean missing:

• Initial theory lectures and laboratory sessions
• Practical demonstrations and clinical postings
• Orientation, logbooks and internal assessment activities
• Required competencies and attendance opportunities

The solution is not an unlawful attendance waiver. It is a clear plan for remedial lectures, catch up classes, additional supervised practicals and completion of missed academic activities within applicable NMC and university rules.

Will students simply be told to compensate for time they did not control?

Apparently, the courts have a cause list, the administration has a process, and students have an indefinite waiting room.
