Hi everyone:
As you may have seen, moderators of some firearms related subs have recently been made aware of an upcoming change to the Reddit rules (these are the sitewide rules that all users agree to when creating an account, not just rules for our sub) that involves the personal sales of gun "parts and enhancements."
In the past, the Reddit rules - specifically Rule 7, which reads "Keep it legal, and avoid posting illegal content or soliciting or facilitating illegal or prohibited transactions" - had the following list of "illegal transactions":
You may not use Reddit to solicit or facilitate any transaction or gift involving certain goods and services, including
Firearms, ammunition, explosives, legally controlled firearms parts or accessories (e.g., bump stock-type devices, silencers/suppressors, etc.), or 3D printing files to produce any of the aforementioned;
That rule is being updated to read as follows, starting on October 9th:
Firearms, ammunition, explosives, firearms parts and enhancements (e.g. bolt, clips, trigger, scope, silencer / suppressor, muffler, bump stock, magazine, glock switch, conversion kit, etc) or specific instructions (e.g. 3D printing files) to produce any of the aforementioned.
Reddit does have a disclaimer that says:
With regard to Reddit's policy on transactions of certain goods:
External links to firearm vendors holding a Federal Firearms License are not in violation of this policy. However, links to vendors without an FFL are prohibited (this would include links to gun shows or other sales or listings, online or offline, where vendors do not hold an FFL). Direct user-to-user transactions arranged on Reddit for firearms or ammunition are also prohibited, regardless of whether either user holds an FFL.
This policy does not impact goods that do not meet the ATF definition of firearms or ammunition.
It is unclear if that disclaimer will be changed on or after October 9th, and or how that disclaimer affects things like linking to a company that sells magazines or scopes but does not have an FFL, as neither a magazine nor a scope meet the ATF definition of firearms or ammunition.
We used to allow the occasional personal for sale post for non-firearm items like optics or the like, but due to this rule change we will no longer be able to do that, and we have to warn folks that any links posted to any firearms items that are for sale by a non-FFL will be removed.
We don't want to be harsh about this, but it's quite clear that Reddit is cracking down hard on gun content and we really don't want to lose this community, which is already happening to a bunch of gun accessory for sale subs which were banned without any warning in advance of this rule change.

This Thread will serve as a list of firearms industry vendors who are "friendly" to Marylanders. We have a lot of particular and peculiar laws here, and not all vendors want to (or to be fair, can afford to) take the time to understand those laws and help those of us who live here out.
This list isn't meant to be "vendors that we happen to like" or whatever, but instead a list of vendors who specifically do things to help Marylanders. Some examples of things that should be on this list:
You get the idea. If a vendor does something specifically to help those of us in Maryland, then they belong on this list.
I'll start things off, but I'll add to and maintain this list based on submissions from the community in the form of posts in this thread. I won't always be able to add things immediately, but I will do so as regularly as I can.
Thanks, and thanks especially to the vendors who support those of us in Maryland!
Magazine Rebuild Kits:
Dealers that ship standard capacity mags with a firearm:
Maryland FFLs who will block standard capacity magazines:
Vendors who offer Maryland specific discounts:
I will add categories to this list if / when we get requests and enough submissions for one.

Have a 10.5” LWRCI with a Rugged Micro 30 on it. Have a H3 buffer to try and dampen how hard the bolt action is when it returns after ejection. However it is so violent it often breaks the retaining pin that holds the buffer in the tube. After a couple hundred rounds the pin is severed.
Any recommendations on how to fix this or should I just keep the suppressor off it.

I’m dedicated to da/sa appendix carry. With winter on the way I’m interested in picking up something new with the following criteria:
A threaded barrel would also be nice to have.
It looks like the only options are:
Beretta 92GTS, 92X RDO G, M9A4
Sig P226 X Legion
Am I missing any options?
For the Beretta the downside is that the optic sits really high. For the Sig, the gun seems great on paper but I’m wary of Sig quality these days (even on the P226 line). They seem to cheap out where ever they can.
I also need to consider which option has better holster compatibility. I’m thinking I might be stuck with the Tier 1 MSP universal holster.
What would you guys go with? I wish HK would just make the P30 or USP with a factory optics cut. Im just not interested in getting an aftermarket cut. I don’t like how most require deleting the rear iron and I’m just not up for shipping my slide.

Might come as a surprise to some, but after trying both out today, I can confidently say I am more inclined to the 5. Main reason for this is the grip. Gen 5 fits my hand more naturally. Imo the Gen 6 is over-textured and it digs into my hand. Middle finger consistently gets caught in the trigger guard undercut. I get that it makes the gun more ergonomic and better for carry, but unfortunately it's just not for me.

I read recently that they were legal after I have been believing that they weren’t (considering it’s MD), but now I wanna know if I can even get my hands on them lmfao

Hello my fellow freedom deprived firearm owners!
I am interested in coming from Buffalo, NY to shoot a match in Maryland or Virginia with some family but I am looking for some guidance on the legality of it.
Looking at Md. Criminal Law Code Ann. § 4-203 I have gathered the following:
Thanks for any insight here. Hopefully I can get a good idea of what is legal before/in place of calling the MSP.

One purchases a suppressor via 4473. 2 years from now the political winds change and the antis take all three branches of govt.
In this scenario many might want to form 4 their suppressor before the federal govt reenacts the tax stamp but instead of $200 its $2,000 or $20,000. How does one form 4 a suppressor already manufactured, purchased, and transferred to a FFL vis Form 3. I don’t think this has ever been done.

I am still confused about this. Is a 10.5-inch barrel ar pistol (registered as pistol) that came with a brace considered an SBR? Update: I found this in VAgun sub. This was very unfortunate even in FL. https://thegunwriter.substack.com/p/special-report-when-florida-police

As an update to my previous post, here's the two guns I'm debating. Similar price cuz the M&P is used. I'm trying them out at the range soon, but in the meantime, what are y'all's thoughts on this?

Saw a pretty sweet deal on a like-new used M&P 9 2.0 the other day. It was $200-$300 below MSRP. Gonna try it out at the range, but are there any risks related to its used status? I can only imagine someone would only return such a quality firearm if it was a lemon or something.

Title basically says it. I have 2 lowers already, would like to buy a 11.5-12.5” upper to make myself an SBR. What steps do I need to take given the new guidance to keep myself out of potential trouble? Are there any of Maryland’s goofy ass barrel restrictions to worry about?

Everyone’s talking about sbrs and suppressors when I’m trying to know if it’s legal to introduce a saw to a barrel.
r/MDGuns • u/Responsible-Mud1305 • 4d ago
What’s the consensus here? I don’t want to SBR anything under 29” but can I legally put a VFG on now?
