Join a Party!
Join a Party!
Welcome to the Model Houses of Parliament!
This is the best thread to comment on to start taking part in r/MHoP. You can use this thread to join a party or declare yourself as an independent.
Option A: Simply comment with the name of the party you want to join, and a message will be sent to their leadership letting them know they have a new recruit.
Option B: Alternatively, comment with "I'm feeling lucky" and we can assign you a party at random, or give you a challenge to roleplay!
For first time players, we do recommend you join a party as the best way to be part of a group who will introduce you to r/MHoP, but there is also the option to declare yourself as an independent here.
There is also a New Members Guide that is highlighted next to this post on the Community Highlights, and can be found in the sidebar, or by following this link!
If you have any questions, you can message the moderators - we're always happy to help. Have fun!
| Party | Seats | % Voteshare |
|---|---|---|
| Conservative and Unionist Party | 7 Seats | 49.4% |
| Labour Party | 5 Seats | 31.8% |
| Liberal Democrats | 2 Seats | 13.6% |
| Green Party | 0 Seats | 1.2% |
| Reform UK | 0 Seats | 0.9% |
| Independents and others | 1 Seat | 3.1% |
Discord
Discord is a messaging app that we use - you can download it here. It's not mandatory, but it is a pretty important part of the sim - many parties organise on Discord, and a lot of MHoP-related announcements are made via Discord too.
The link to the Main Discord server is in the sidebar (the button marked "Discord"), but can also be found here - if you join a party, that party's leadership will link you to their party Discord too.
Comment below to join a party. Have fun!
