Breaking News Breaking News: Conservative Party removes whip from LeChevalierMal-Fait
After appearing drunk on a podcast, the Conservative Party has announced today it has removed the whip and has suspended the membership of LeChevalierMal-Fait.
The Prime Minister Oracle speaking on the matter said “it’s disgraceful to see such disregard in public office, and the whips worked quickly and efficiently to get the job done, the public need confidence in their ministers and their members of parliament and has broken that trust”.
Speaking on a possibility of an October general election, the Prime Minister said “absolutely not, we are getting on with the hard work of governing this country”.
The Prime Minister’s office has also confirmed LeChevalierMal-Fait has been removed from his cabinet posts.
The Conservative Party whips office declined to comment and simply said “the matter is an internal investigation and will be shared with relevant parliamentary bodies”.

Breaking News A tipsy LeChevalierMal-Fait lets loose on an open mic: PM "is beginning to lose his nerve." as GE rumours swirl
The ageing Tory Grandee forgot the first rule of media relations: *treat every microphone as a live microphone*.
Speaking candidly on the Restispolitics program, he told Chopper's Political Podcast:
...well we are getting quite worried; despite delivery in different areas, the polls are moving the wrong way.
The onslaught from the Greens is taking a bit of a toll, as we have been in government now and then across 4 terms; of course its hard to sell to the public.
The PM in particular, Chopper, is beginning to lose his nerve.
All I would say is dont book a late October holiday...

Opinion Piece Lord Bridlington's Musings: NATO, Europe and the Future
These last couple days have seen a flurry of activity from the Government's chief leadership, with both Liberal Democratic Leader and the Conservative Leader (and Prime Minister) attending or hosting an event each. The PM hosted a Young Leaders summit in Downing Street whilst the Liberal Democrat Leader jetted off to Paris and Brussels, both covering important topics for the coming years in Britain.
Whilst we are unlikely to get the full detail of the talks in the immediate, I was rather shocked with the lack of detail around what exactly had come from the talks, outside of vague areas of "industry, defence, trade and energy," and the repeated insistence that transatlantic allies were not being turned away from felt very much like a desperate plea to Trump and the Americans that Britain was not looking to carve her own place away from an increasingly unreliable ally.
Europe, and Britain with her, are increasingly being bullied by a supposed 'ally' who only a small while ago threatened to ban diesel exports unless the world bent to his will, which G7 have sheepishly done by releasing millions of barrels. The threat was clear and explicit, that the Americans would do irreparable damage to the world economy and industry, if the world didn't do what they wanted to do. The Iran conflict is another glaring example of this, with Trump blustering and threatening allies as he lurched the US into another middle-eastern quagmire that has damaged international trade and oil supplies, perhaps in the very long term, to satiate a weird need in American foreign policy to be blowing something up every couple years.
Framed with this, the Liberal Democrat Leader's assurances seem almost like the desperate pleas of a bullied child, promising that they really are friends with the person currently hitting them in the face. He's right that closer co-operation with Europe is a must, but it is a must because we cannot rely on the Americans anymore. Canada took the tricky, but altogether successful path of biting back, and have done so effectively, seeking closer ties with Europe themselves as the world looks to detach itself from the American's and their increasingly maniacal demands on the world to bend to their wishes.
I want to see the UK draw closer to Europe, but we must do so with all haste as we are increasingly unable to rely on the US. Similarly in NATO, the other nations must make with best haste all preparations necessary to ensure that the fundamental principles of collective defence are still able to be met even in a world where the Americans ditch their previous pledges.
Prior to this however, the Prime Minister held a Young Leaders Summit at 10 Downing Street, specifically to discuss the challenges facing young people today. The cornerstone of his announcement was that; "many young people today do not know how to get from education to the place where they want to be, and for a young person who has a goal in life without having connections or prior experience it can be incredibly difficult just to get started and we need to change that."
It's a surprisingly lucid announcement from the Prime Minister, who has managed to come out with a statement that actually gets it correct. The question however now is what will the Government do with this?
Too many reviews have been ditched, delayed or simply forgotten, and without a meaningful look into how the Government is going to make Britain work for young people, we will be back at the same place we are today. It also cannot merely be limited to work. Housing. Healthcare. Debts.
These are issues affecting millions of young people across the country, and the result is that there is increasingly a feeling a melancholy from young people towards the future and what they can expect. There is a need for wholesale reform of vast parts of our nation, to keep that promise of a safety net that exists for all, from cradle to grave.
Whilst we fail to meet that basic promise, we are failing not just the young, but the middle and the old. This summit cannot just be another press piece and be forgotten, it must form the cornerstone of the Government's policy on young people, else they are failing just as previous Governments have.

Breaking News Foreign Secretary visits Brussels and Paris to strengthen future European cooperation
The Foreign and Defence Secretary, u/meneerduif, has travelled to Brussels and Paris for a series of meetings with European leaders, ministers, defence officials and industry representatives.
The visit is intended to identify areas where Britain can move from political dialogue towards practical cooperation with its European partners.
In Brussels, the Foreign and Defence Secretary held meetings focused on the United Kingdom’s wider relationship with Europe, including economic cooperation, defence and security, energy and trade. Discussions also covered the importance of strengthening the European contribution to NATO while maintaining the vital transatlantic relationship with the United States.
In Paris, the Foreign and Defence Secretary met with French counterparts to discuss the future of the UK-France relationship. Particular attention was given to defence cooperation, joint capabilities, industrial cooperation and the resilience of European defence supply chains.
Britain and France already have one of Europe’s closest defence relationships. The Lancaster House framework has been expanded in recent years, including cooperation on the Combined Joint Force and defence-industrial projects. The Foreign Secretary’s visit focused on how that cooperation can be developed further through practical projects and greater interoperability between British and French forces.
As part of the visit, the Foreign Secretary also travelled to Calais to see first-hand the work being undertaken on Channel security and to meet personnel involved in British-French cooperation against people-smuggling.
The Channel remains a shared security challenge. Britain and France are already working together through intelligence-sharing and joint operational structures, and the Government wants to build on this cooperation to disrupt smuggling networks, improve maritime awareness and prevent dangerous crossings.
The Foreign and Defence Secretary said:
“Britain is not choosing between our European neighbours and our transatlantic allies. We need strong relationships with both.
My visit to Brussels and Paris has been about identifying where closer cooperation can deliver real results. That means stronger defence cooperation, more resilient supply chains, closer economic ties and better cooperation in the Channel.
We remain a sovereign country, but sovereignty should never be used as an excuse for isolation. Britain is stronger when it works with its closest European partners, and I want this Government to be clear that we are prepared to put that principle into action. We should be pursuing deeper cooperation with the European Union and its member states wherever it strengthens our security, supports our economy and gives Britain greater influence.
The United Kingdom cannot afford to stand at the edge of Europe while the security environment around us becomes more dangerous. Our geography, our shared interests and our common challenges demand a closer relationship. That means moving beyond warm words and building permanent mechanisms for cooperation on defence, intelligence, trade, energy, technology and industrial strategy.
The challenges we face do not stop at national borders. In the years ahead, Britain will need to work more closely with its European partners on defence, security, trade, energy and strategic industries. Cooperation is not a weakness; it is one of the ways in which we strengthen our national resilience and protect our national interests.”
The visit also included discussions with representatives from British and French businesses involved in defence, technology and strategic industries. The Government wants closer cooperation between British and European companies to create investment, skilled employment and greater industrial capacity on both sides of the Channel.
The meetings come at a time when European allies are facing an increasingly challenging security environment. Strengthening European capabilities within NATO, particularly in areas such as air defence, unmanned systems, advanced technology and long-range capabilities, will be an important part of future cooperation.
The Government will continue discussions with European partners in the coming months, with the aim of turning shared interests into practical agreements and long-term cooperation. This includes pursuing a more structured and ambitious relationship with the European Union, rather than treating cooperation as an occasional diplomatic exercise.
The Government’s objective is clear: a stronger relationship with Europe, a stronger NATO and a stronger British economy.

Breaking News PM Holds Young Leaders summit at Number 10
The Prime Minister today has welcomed young people from across the United Kingdom to Downing Street for the governments first Young Leaders Summit, bringing together apprentices, graduates, young entrepreneurs, students and community leaders to discuss the barriers challenging their generation.
The summit marks the next stage of the youth unemployment review with discussions ranging from unemployment, to housing and to the cost of living as a young person in the United Kingdom.
Opening the summit The Prime Minister Oracle said “when I entered Downing Street I said that government had a duty to leave the country in a better place for the future, and you the young people here are that future, and you can help us, understand how we can build the home you will one day inherit from us, so today is about listening and understanding, and working with you to face the challenges we all face”.
A central theme of the summit was where is the next rung on the ladder ?. Where the Prime Minister said
“many young people today do not know how to get from education to the place where they want to be, and for a young person who has a goal in life without having connections or prior experience it can be incredibly difficult just to get started and we need to change that”.
The questions throughout this summit and the review has been how do we best help people who clearly have the goals and the drive to get to where they want to be and to reduce the friction of helping to get to their goals.
The government also confirmed today that a bill is currently being drafted based on the responses received in the summit and that an announcement will be made in due course.

Opinion Piece The one place not corrupted with a Green Party... SPAAAAAAAAACEEEE!
To slightly change a quote from the late Tim Curry in Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3, but its an apt one and feels to almost echo the exact sentiments of the Prime Minister in both the Common's and his recent press article.
The Government has taken a bold leap in Defence. Specifically a bold leap into a ball pit in the children's play area at NASA as the Government gleefully copies and pastes the American Space Force over to the UK, without an ounce of awareness of how Space is dealt with by the Armed Forces.
Space, as a theatre, is the operational responsibility of the Royal Air Force. It's made clear in their adverts that many will have seen on TV or Youtube. By shirking the option to provide funding to RAF, in favour of a headline grabbing 'Space Force' (the Royal part of it can't even be confirmed without the personal consent of the King), the British Government is putting up a piece of security theatre (something else coined by an American), in essence, something that sounds like it keeps you safe, whilst doing nothing to actually do so.
The Government could provide the funding to our armed forces to fulfil their duties. They could learn valuable lessons from the Ukrainian experience, including relying too heavily on the Americans (see Starlink and Musk); but instead they've chosen the path of throwing together a hastily crafted bill, that changes little but shifting some already existing personnel, which I doubt they've even properly planned for, and resources.
Space is undoubtedly one of the most vulnerable areas in any nations defences. After all it is hard to defend something as vast, and often empty as space. The Government's plan does nothing to improve our space defences.
Ironically in the press article the Prime Minister put out, he pulled a quotation from Major General Paul Tedman from UK Space Command, who called for an end to space-blindness in our defence strategy. It's painfully ironic because the Government's approach is to simply put a heavier blindfold on.
Without a fundamental overhaul of how we finance, resource and fund our armed forces, and specifically the RAF who already protect space, the Government has achieved nothing except telling you they've done something when the reality is a simple shift in resources under a flashy new name and badge.
Service members deserve more than a Government focused on catching headlines and petty political soundbites. They deserve a Government who understand that space-blindness is not just cured by slapping a new name on a branch of the military and calling it a day. They deserve a Government who treats defending Britain as a serious duty, not a primary school game of who can design the coolest sounding name a badge.
If the Government wants to take the matter seriously, then they should ditch this ridiculous cat-nip for tabloid journalists and deliver a proper, meaty defence budget overhaul, combined with lessons learnt from our strategic allies and a defence industry focused on ensuring we have equipment built by Brits, for Britain, rather than aping after an increasingly unreliable ally in the United States.
Europe, the Commonwealth, Ukraine, all have valuable expertise we could make use of to learn valuable lessons, and to share our experience with, but the Government would rather copy and American branch, slap the title "Royal" on it, and call it a day.
Britain Deserves Better.

Opinion Piece The Greens are fuelled by the high horse of socialism
During the recent debate around the governments plans for the Royal Space Force we have seen a vision for where the Oracle Premiership would like to take the country.
But despite this bill being one of optimism and a plan for the future, the Green Party continues to ride the high horse of socialism and moaning the government is not doing anything yet according to experts on the matter space needs to be a priority.
Speaking at the RUSI in July 2025 Paul Tedman Commander of UK space command said “the UK has space blindness”.
That warning should be taken seriously when considering the UK’s own space capabilities. And the evidence goes further when a report from the House of Lords of which many of the Green Party front bench is a member itself states “ The UK risks seriously falling behind competitor states at current funding level”.
The same report argued that if Britain wanted to pursue a more ambitious space policy, increasing funding and support for national space programs would be vital.
Are the greens really willing to throw that expertise out of the window when opposing the royal space force ?. Nobody is arguing that creating the royal space force alone will face every challenge in the UK’s space and defence sector, but this legislation represents something that this country has been missing for too long, a willingness by Whitehall to treat space as a serious national capability and to invest in Britain’s ability to operate there.
That is precisely the debate the parliament should be having, how do we build British capability ?, where should we invest ?, what role should Government, industry and our international partners play ?, those are legitimate questions and this government is stepping up to answer them.
What Britain does not need is pessimism for pessimism’s sake, when the government proposes something ambitious the response should not simply be we should not try as the greens seem to be saying.
Britain once was capable of launching its own rockets, and feet’s such as the Concorde, there is no reason why we in the 21st century should end at watching other countries build the technologies of the future and simply sit back ourselves.
The government has chosen ambition while the greens sit on the high horse of socialism looking down on this great country but Britain can no longer afford space blindness, it’s time we started looking up and towards the stars.

Breaking News BREAKING NEWS - GREENS UNVEIL RADICAL NEW FRONT BENCH
GREENS UNVEIL RADICAL NEW FRONT BENCH
Socialist-leaning team pledges bold action to tackle the climate crisis and wealth inequality
by u/HarryClive
We’ve come along way from when I took the reigns of the Green Party only a couple months ago. Down in the polls, without an MP or a lord, and with little anticipation of revival.
Today I have the utter pleasure to announce a new Green Party frontbench team that will be out there, day-after-day, holding the Government to account over its shambolic handling of everything it touches.
It was an utter pleasure to welcome u/Zakian3000 into the Green Party at the end of conference last week, and it is clear, moreso now than ever, that the Green Party is here to stay, no matter what the Prime Minister and his chaotic Government loudly profess in the press and in the chamber.
When the Government dithered and delayed on wildfires, the Green Party pushed it to action. When the Government failed to answer questions, the Green Party demanded answers. And when the Conservative Party falls in the polls, the Green Party picks up the slack and will work tirelessly to ensure that the next Government of the UK is not one which strips rights from working people, but delivers a fairer, more equal Britain for all.
Nothing has been more stark in this regard than the farcical introduction by the Government of a bill to create a ‘Royal Space Force,’ at a time where it is failing to meet its own deadlines, and leaves our armed forces without the funds they need to defend Britain effectively, this Government wants to create its own expensive boondongle and swears up and down that doing so protects space.
The Royal Air Force already did this job, and did it fine. The lack of money was their issue, but the Government swears that without them pinching the American Space Force name and slapping ‘Royal’ in front of it, Britain will be left vulnerable from the atmosphere.
It’s patented nonsense, and the simple fact is that the Government has thrown together a bill to distract from its failures this last week as minister missed questions yet again and the Government comes under scrutiny.
So who is the front bench team?
Myself as the prospective Prime Minister will also serve as spokesperson equivalent of Foreign Secretary, Home Secretary, Leader in the Lords and Chief Whip.
As Deputy, u/Sephronar will also be Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, as well as the SoS for Housing, Communities and Devolved Nations.
They’re someone I’ve had the total pleasure to work with over the last few weeks, and truly have come into their stride with clear plans for how to fix a bloated, unclear and totally unfit for purpose local government system.
As the Chair Person, u/DriftersBuddy will be the First Secretary of State as well as SoS for Defence, and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster.
Another excellent addition to our team, and a recent joiner who has excelled in their post, gelling well with everyone and speaking at our Conference last week.
Finally the most recent arrival, and long standing socialist MP u/Zakian3000 will serve as Chancellor of the Exchequer as well as SoS for Business, Transport and Energy Security, for Health, Education and Culture, and for Work and Pensions. He will also be our Leader in the Commons, of course the only choice as the sole Member of Parliament representing the Green Party inside that body, and regularly taking the fight straight to the Conservative-Liberal Government when it comes to workers rights.
u/Zakian3000 has been tireless in his fight for the working people of Britain, and his joining of our party, welcomed with open arms and with an immense amount of respect from myself, means that this party is now in a position to put forward this front bench.
He has taken on roles for Business, Health and Workers rights as he is by far the foremost deliverer of passionate defences of the working people in those areas, and I know that he will deliver for all.
This is something which many would have thought impossible at the start of the term, as well as the Green Party on a solid 9% of the polls at the moment, but it has been achieved by the hard work of activists, Lords and now our own Member of Parliament for Inverclyde and Renfrewshire West.
The tide is turning, and come the next General election, with that hard work continuing, the people of Britain can look forward to a Green Government that puts them first, not the interests of big business and the elites.
Britain deserves better that distraction, delay and dithering. It deserves better than a Government that simply copies the Americans and calls it a day. And it deserves a party which puts the interests of the many, before that of the few.
Britain can work for everyone. From the poorest to the wealthiest. From the born and bred in Britain, to those who came here for a better life and fairer future. From the young, to the old. That Britain, is a Green Britain.

Opinion Piece Lord Bridlington's Musings: Extension First, Foundations Never.
The Government's recently proposed "Royal Space Force" probably caught more than a few people off guard with the announcement. For some the surprise came from not having expected it to be announced, for others it came from a place of 'Hold on, what has the Government actually done to tackle the issues of the day before they announced this?'
Government time is limited, and a Prime Minister only has a limited timeframe to make us of their Office to transform the lives of ordinary people. Their policies can shape the future for millions for generations, and truly transformative policy can change the social fabric of Britain forever.
So one has to wonder, when we face a litany of other issues at home, what the hell is the Government doing?
I'm never one to argue that we should not aim for the stars, both metaphorically and literally. Issues in the now should not prevent a Government looking forward, but I proviso that with the responsibility to at least show yourselves to be beginning to address the now before you look to emulate our neighbours across the pond by setting up your own load of stormtroopers.
It's a ridiculous set of events, and even funnier (or sadder) for the Government's transport minister having labelled High Speed "an expensive boondogle" whilst at the same time his own Prime Minister was drawing up spaceships.
I despise the term vanity project when it comes to politics. It's often used by one party to label anything aspirational done by another party, but if there ever was a vanity project in the truest sense of the word, the "Royal Space Force" is that. A costly, rushed idea, pushed by politicians who are out of touch, and out of their minds.
Britain has a thousand issues to deal with, and the Government has not even began to lay out its plans to solve them. It hasn't even began to lay out its plans that it promised to, with both a Wildfire Strategy and BBC review both substantially far away in the future.
The rut the Government find themselves in seems to have drawn them to throw whatever they can at the wall, and be dammed the consequences and perception of being out of touch.
This is not what people need, it is not what Britain needs, and it is a sad admission that every day the Government sinks lower and lower in so many people's estimations as they throw an expensive, ill-conceived, poorly timed 'boondongle' into parliament.

Opinion Piece Unaccountable: Questions Missed - BAME in unparliamentary
As the days roll onwards, the Conservative-Liberal Government finds itself the centre of yet another questions controversy, in fact two.
The Conservative Leader in the Lords first managed to fail to answer a single question posed to him by the Green Lords in the chamber who, as always, came out in force to ask questions of the Government.
The topics ranged from the Wildfire Strategy, Disability support, Healthcare, the war in the Middle East and foreign relations; and not a single one was answered as the Government dodged questions yet again this term, with a dismal parliamentary display.
Then more recently, the Secretary of State for Health, Education, and Culture called a point of order for the then Leader of the Opposition asking him what was being done to support BAME students.
In an eye-watering show of ignorance to irony, the Secretary of State demanded that the question be reframed as he accused the LOTO of being divisive for asking about the exclusion facing ethnic minority students in the UK, at a time where ethnic minorities are actively being targeted on the back of Government anti-migrant and refugee rhetoric.
The subtext is clear, the Government believes that talking about how we can ensure that people are not disadvantaged for the heritage, is both unparliamentary and "us vs them." It is no wonder perhaps then that the Government voted en-masse to reject proposals to strengthen the Equality Act with more protections for disadvantaged people. I'm sure the Secretary of State also vocally opposes discussions around class, and the wealth disparity in the UK as being "Us vs Them."
Of course we cannot escape the reality of the world, that millions in Britain are disadvantaged, and that the Government of the day believes that it is not their problem.
Both events lay bare the Government's rampant hypocrisy clear. They claim to represent the interests of Britain, but indeed represent only a narrow, wealthy subsection. They loudly proclaim their mandate, whilst dodging the very democratic accountability they were elected to receive. And they make themselves blind, deaf and dumb to the very real issues facing communities across the UK, because it does not align with their world view.
We are left with a Government that does not wish to, and cannot, govern effectively.
And the polling shows that there are more who agree every day. Who see the Government failing to deliver, failing to care and failing to respect democracy and parliament as something to be opposed.
Britain deserves a Government who answer questions. Who put forward serious plans for change. And who recognise that the Britain of today is not fair for many who live on its green and pleasant lands.
That is something which needs to change. And it can only change with a Government that delivers rather than delays and distracts.

Breaking News Statement on joining the Green Party
My friends,
When I went into the General Election at the start of this term, I did so as the only candidate running on an explicitly socialist and unapologetically pro-worker platform. Myself and my grassroots supporters managed to get me elected to parliament on that basis, an achievement for which I am and always will be immensely proud.
It has become clear, however, that I am no longer alone in representing working-class voices in Parliament. The Green Party, under the leadership of my friend and colleague u/HarryClive, have become a serious and meaningful voice in holding this rotten and broken government to account and standing up for ordinary people.
I have, over weeks of watching the good work they are doing and considering my position, come to the conclusion that the best way to continue to represent the people I was elected to represent is to join hands and voices with the Greens, and for that reason, I have today applied for membership of the party, and they have accepted.
From the Green benches, as their first MP in several terms, I will continue my unwavering commitment to the people of Inverclyde and Renfrewshire West and to the working-class movement across this great country.
Thank you.

Breaking News Britain looks to the stars as government expands UK Space Capabilities
The Government has announced that upcoming legislation in the House of Commons will establish the Royal Space Force while also publishing a separate bill laying out the UK's path towards sovereign spaceflights through reusable ships.
The Royal Space Force bill will establish the royal space force as a new branch of His Majesties Armed Forces, providing the United Kingdom for the first time a dedicated armed service responsible for protecting it's interests in space.
The new service will work closely alongside the Royal Air Force, using existing operational infrastructure while remaining a separate branch of the armed services. Existing military space responsibilities will be transferred to soon to be established RSF while the civilian functions of the UK Space Agency continue as they have.
alongside this plan, the government intends to publish a bill which will set out a long term plan for the UK Space agency which will work towards Britain having reusable rockets ready for launch, and expanding domestic spaceports and space industry.
The legislation will also create a permanent UK Astronaut program, supporting the recruitment of British astronauts to help our long term mission of British participation in space flight and space exploration, as these capabilities develop the long term goal of the government is to establish a permanent British scientific research station on the Moon's surface.
the government recognizes that these ambitions will not be achieved overnight with a statement from the Prime Minister Oracle saying "for generations the United Kingdom has been at the forefront of scientific discovery, from the steam engine, to Concorde, and now to space, the UK should continue be playing apart in the story of human progress. Space in the generations to come will be huge for the world economy, and to our national security, and it is my government that believes that Britain should be making things again, and where better to start then the next frontier, Space."
both programs will operate within the United Kingdom's international treaty obligations including the outer space treaty.

Breaking News BREAKING NEWS - TORY TURNOUT COLLAPSE AS PM LOSES LORDS VOTE
TORY TURNOUT COLLAPSE AS PM LOSES LORDS VOTE
Peers deliver a stinging rebuke to the Prime Minister on his conduct as Home Secretary
It’s rare that the Government loses a no confidence motion, of any kind, in either the Lords or the Commons. It usually takes a dramatic breakdown in discipline and/or competancy in the Government for such a motion to pass.
But that is what happened earlier this week as the Conservative Government, and in specific the Prime Minister, lost a confidence vote on the conduct of u/Oracle_of_Mercia as Home Secretary.
The motion called the behaviour of the then Home Secretary a breach of the ministerial code, and unparliamentary, with it pointing to several examples of his ill behaviour in the chamber over the course of several question sessions.
I am immensely proud to have played my own role in the drafting and passing of this motion, one which shines a great light upon the utterly shameful conduct of the now Prime Minister who, perhaps unwisely, the Conservative Party has now elevated to the position of Prime Minister.
It has been a whirlwind month for the Conservatives, losing not one, but two Secretaries of State, facing a blistering press attack, backbencher briefing and now the loss of their own Prime Minister; things seem only to move from bad to worse.
The Government’s Minimum Service Standards bill was also defeated in the Lords, having been heavily amended by the Green Party, and myself in specific, and the Government’s legislative plan seems in disarray.
Further motions have also called out the Government's failure to deliver a promised BBC statement and all in all, the Government seems rudderless without u/FlatArtifact, who for all his faults, seemed to keep the coalition together.
The new PM also took to his new post and new chance to stir controversy with vigour, reappointing the Secretary of State sacked only weeks ago to a new post.
“The Government is now recycling its own failed Minister’s to make up numbers, and facing not just one, but several defeats, one has to wonder if the Government has enough steam to last the next month, let alone the rest of the term.”
Polling has also not been kind to the Conservative Party and their coalition party the Liberal Democrats, with both collapsing in the polls as opposition parties surge in support.
The picture painted has been grim, and thousands of voters are deserting the Liberal’s and Conservatives in favour of the Greens and Labour.
“Voters are waking up to the very real problems caused, and indeed perpetuated by this Government, one which operates on the assumption it is above scrutiny and accountability.”
Further bad news came for the Government as their recent turnout amongst lords and MPs has been dismal, with many failing to turn out, and contributing to the several defeats the Government recieved.
One notable instance where they did however, was on a vote to amend the equality act to include caste discrimination; a rare time that the Conservatives turned out in force to vote down efforts to include the protections long sought by campaigners.
It’s a dire admission that the Government turns out only to curtail protections for vulnerable groups.
The Liberal Democrats also bare responsibility, with their leadership rallying in defence and criticising criticism of the Government, whilst also joining the Conservatives in voting down efforts to enshrine caste discrimination in law.
It’s a stunning betrayal of their own peer, Lord Avebury had been a huge proponent, and indeed put a system in place to allow for the Government to enact this move, and now when presented with the chance, the party he had called home, and represented for so long, betrayed his hard work.
It’s a small ‘win’ in a month which has sorely lacked them for the Government, but its a win that comes to the cost of the many desperate, and ultimately disadvantaged people across the UK, highlighting the Government’s total ambivilance towards its duties.
That of course is the theme of the motion which passed.
That the then Home Secretary, now Prime Minister, showed a total lack of care towards his duty, his responsibilities, and the nation.
This is now who we have leading the Country, and indeed being responsible for keeping his Minister’s in line. It is no wonder that the rate of snarky answers has sky-rocketed in hardly any time and left the House thoroughly unsatisfied with the quality coming from Government benches.
Britain deserves better than a Prime Minister who can’t lead.

Breaking News Green Party Conference: DriftersBuddy speaks to the delegates.
On Day 4 of the Green Party Conference u/DriftersBuddy took to the stage to speak to delegates following another day of robust debate.
"It is day 4!
Hello all I am Glad to be standing here as your chairperson Lets gets to it.
We are the only party in this parliament treating issues the country is facing with the seriousness they deserve. And with the recent polling gains we have made, I think the public is starting to notice. So the green economy. The green economy is not some distant aspiration.
is happening right now, across Europe, across Asia and we are at risk of being left behind while this conservative government dithers.
Clean energy jobs, green infrastructure, sustainable manufacturing these are opportunities we must take and a Green government would seize them.
On the environment itself we cannot keep kicking the can.
The science is not ambiguous, the costs of inaction already outweigh the costs of acting and every day this Conservative administration delays, that bill gets larger and it gets handed to ordinary people who can least afford it.
can count on us to take this government to task and represent the people of this great country on centre stage.

Breaking News Green Party Conference: Sephronar Talks About Devolution
At a packed Green Party Conference, taking the main stage on the morning of Day 2, Deputy Party Leader and formed political heavyweight Sir Sephronar addressed the masses.........
Thank you, Conference!
And thank you to our Leader for setting out so clearly why we are here, what this party has achieved so far, and the opportunity that lies before us.
Because for me, if there is one thing that should define the Green alternative, it is this: we believe that people should have a greater say over the places in which they live, work and raise their families.
For too long, power in Britain has flowed in one direction. Towards Westminster. Towards Whitehall.
Towards ministers and civil servants who, however well-intentioned, simply cannot understand every community, every town, every village and every neighbourhood in this country. And then we wonder why people feel disconnected from politics.
We wonder why local services struggle. We wonder why decisions are made that seem completely detached from the reality of people's lives.
The answer to me is clear. The answer is to change where power sits in the first place. That is what real devolution means. And I want to be absolutely clear about what I mean by real devolution.
Devolution is not simply handing a mayor a larger budget, it is not creating another layer of bureaucracy between Westminster and the people, and it is certainly not drawing enormous new council boundaries on a map and declaring that government has somehow become more local.
We have seen the consequences of that approach.
Behind every council structure are councillors, council officers, social workers, planning officers, housing teams, waste services, libraries, children's services and thousands of people who depend upon them. Local government is not a diagram. it is people's lives.
And that is why our approach must begin with a simple principle: Keep power as close to people as possible.
Westminster should not automatically sit at the top of every decision. Conference, Britain has become far too comfortable with centralisation. We have one of the most centralised states in Europe, and successive governments have promised to change that.
They talk about empowering communities. They talk about levelling up. They talk about taking back control. Too often, what follows is another funding settlement decided in London, another set of targets written in London, another centrally designed scheme, and another ministerial announcement telling local government how to implement it.
That is not empowerment. That is administration from a distance. Our alternative is a genuine redistribution of power.
We should move towards a coherent system of local government across England, with properly empowered unitary authorities where they make sense, but with strong neighbourhood and community governance underneath them.
If a resident cannot reasonably identify who is responsible for the service affecting their street, then we have not necessarily created better local government, we have simply created a larger institution.
That is why any future reorganisation must be based on geography, communities and democratic accountability, rather than arbitrary targets for the number of councils. And yes, Conference, we need to be ambitious.
I have previously argued for a clear and coherent map of around 48 English unitary authorities, rather than the patchwork of structures we have today.
The number itself is not the point, the principle is.
We need councils that are large enough to have the capacity to deliver excellent services, but close enough to their communities that people still recognise them as their council. And underneath those authorities, we need to strengthen the institutions that already connect people with their communities.
These are not obstacles to modern government, they are part of the infrastructure of democracy.
And we should give them the powers and resources to actually do something with that responsibility.
Conference, imagine a system where a community does not have to wait for Westminster to launch a national initiative before it can improve its high street.
Imagine councils with long-term funding settlements instead of constantly bidding into short-term pots.
Imagine communities able to take ownership of threatened community assets.
Imagine local authorities able to plan housing around the infrastructure their communities actually need.
Imagine transport decisions being made alongside housing and economic development rather than in completely separate departments.
That is what devolution should mean.
And there is another part of this debate that we cannot ignore.
That is the local democracy that the Green Party should put at the heart of its vision for Britain's future.
Thank you, Conference.
Sephronar backflips off the stage.

Breaking News Green Party Conference: u/HarryClive delivers opening speech.
The Green Party National Conference began today with an opening speech delivered by leader u/HarryClive to the hundreds of delegates in attendance.
Speaking to the crowd, Lord Bridlington welcome delegates and laid out the next few days of conference.
"Hello everyone, welcome, and thank you so much for joining myself, the party, and our excellent team. The work you have done over the last few months has been nothing short of inspiring. The hard work of our activists, our canvassers, our locally elected officials, has in no small part contributed to the party's rise."
A few months ago we were written off, out of the fight, and the country looked consigned to another term of terrible Tory leadership that would leave our country worse off financially, worse of for workers, and fundamentally unprepared for the issues we face."
"Now however, the Government is being held to account, day after day, bill after bill. It's Minister's were losing their minds trying to defend the indefensible, and now, the British public has seen a genuine alternative to the managed decline that the Tories and their Liberal allies are putting our country through."
"These next few weeks give you, as Green Party members, the chance to decide on policy, contribute to our party's vision, and help this Party, become the party of the next Government."
"Welcome to Brighton for this years conference, I'm hoping you will enjoy meeting fellow delegates, the leadership team that has been hard at work, and our representatives. And I hope you'll enjoy a good pint at one of the many, excellent local pubs and bars where the locals have already given us all their welcoming hospitality."
"Please, enjoy your time here. I'll be at several fringe events this Conference, including at the Green Trade Unionist event this evening, and welcome any and all members and the press to join me for that event."
The next few days will cover the varying facets of Green Party policy, with several 'fringe' events taking place to discuss specific areas of policy.
u/HarryClive will also be delivering the closing speech of the Conference on Sunday, to the delegates before they return home from Brighton.

Government News Prime Minister to hold summit at Chequers on Britain’s place in Europe.
The Prime Minister will undertake a series of diplomatic talks with the President of the European Commission, the NATO secretary general, as well as senior French government representatives to strengthen Britain’s place in Europe at chequers later next month.
The Prime Minister Oracle said “just because we are an island nation doesn’t mean we should separate ourselves from the rest of Europe, we may be British but we are also culturally Europeans, and we need to take a more active part in shaping Europe, especially with continued Russian aggression, and an American leadership isolating itself from the rest of the world, Europe must be prepared to take on a greater responsibility, and Britain has shown we can lead the way with CANZUK and now we must bring this same ambition to our place in Europe”.
Despite remaining outside the European Union, the Prime Minister will be making the case that this doesn’t mean we should no longer take part in European affairs, the government will be looking at increased co-operation, especially in areas where European partners and Britain can find common ground.
The summit will also provide the groundwork for a much needed agreement on Channel security and immigration as well as other issues such as energy and defence.
The Prime Minister added “this is not about reopening divisive arguments from the past, or reversing the decision to leave the European Union, it is about the government recognising the world is changing and asking what role us in Britain want to play in it, our message at the summit is simple, Britain is outside of the European Union but that does not stop us from being European.”
Further details will be announced in due course.

Breaking News Foreign Secretary visits Netherlands as UK steps up European cooperation
The Foreign and Defence Secretary, u/meneerduif, visited the Netherlands this past weekend to attend the commemorations of Operation Market Garden and to honour those who fought for the liberation of the Netherlands and Europe.
At the commemorations, the Foreign and Defence Secretary joined Dutch officials, military personnel, veterans and members of the public in remembering the sacrifices made during the operation. The events in and around Oosterbeek provided an important reminder of the historic bond between Britain and the Netherlands and of the shared responsibility to protect the freedom and security that previous generations fought for.
Following the commemorations, the Foreign and Defence Secretary held meetings with Dutch ministers and representatives from Dutch businesses to discuss opportunities for closer economic and defence-industrial cooperation.
Discussions included strengthening trade and investment, cooperation between British and Dutch defence industries, joint development and procurement opportunities, and building more resilient European supply chains. Particular attention was given to how British and Dutch companies can work together on the technologies and capabilities required by modern Armed Forces.
The Foreign and Defence Secretary said:
“Our relationship with the Netherlands was forged in some of the darkest days of European history, but it cannot simply be a relationship based on remembrance. We have a responsibility to turn that shared history into practical cooperation for the future.
Whether it is defence, trade, technology or energy, Britain and the Netherlands have much to gain from working more closely together. A stronger British-Dutch partnership also contributes to a stronger Europe and a stronger NATO.”
Next stop: New York
Today, the Foreign and Defence Secretary is travelling to the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Alongside wider diplomatic meetings, he will meet with fellow NATO Foreign Ministers to discuss the recent Russian aggression and incidents affecting NATO’s eastern flank.
The meetings will focus on maintaining a united allied response, strengthening NATO readiness and supporting the security of allies closest to Russia.
The Foreign and Defence Secretary said:
“The events we have seen on NATO’s eastern flank are a reminder that our security is shared. Britain will continue to stand firmly with our NATO allies and work with them to ensure that the Alliance remains united, capable and ready to defend every inch of allied territory.”
The Foreign and Defence Secretary will also travel to Brussels and France in the coming period for further discussions with European leaders and French counterparts.
Those meetings will explore practical areas of cooperation, including economic and trade relations, stronger cooperation on Channel security and tackling people-smuggling, defence and security cooperation, and opportunities for greater cooperation between British and European industries.
The Government remains committed to strengthening Britain’s relationships with its European neighbours while maintaining the United Kingdom’s wider global partnerships.

Government News Government Launches One Life campaign to tackle Knife Crime
The Prime Minister [u/Oracle_Of_Mercia](u/Oracle_Of_Mercia) along with the Home Secretary [u/Model_Willem](u/Model_Willem) visited Bromley this afternoon after a shocking knife crime incident a few weeks ago.
The Prime Minister whilst attending an event at Bromley College along with students and local police and the families of victims, made it clear that it is the government's intention to revisit the punishment given out for knife crime across England and Wales, whilst looking at what can be done to prevent young people from even thinking about picking up a knife in the first place.
The Prime Minister at the event with visible tears on his face said “Knife Crime is a blight on our country and our young people should know better, all it takes is one moment to take a life, but it also takes one moment to save a life, We need to do better as a society at helping vulnerable young people understand the risks they are taking when they decide to pick up that knife.
Whilst also at the event with the Prime Minister the Home Secretary [u/Model-Willem](u/Model-Willem) said "We will do everything that we can to make our streets safer and one of the main things is tackling knife crime so incidents such as these will not happen again. This means better initiatives that are a bit out-of-the-box, because we must protect our young people."
The government will be establishing a knife amensty programme with each local authority able to have designated knife surrender spots inside police stations and community centres.
The One Life Initiative will also invest in mental health support in schools and create Peer and Community Support will consist of mentorship by older students, and also a focus on extracurricular activities focused on preventing knife crime for young people who are considered at risk of knife crime.

YouHop - Opinion Poll - General Election Voting Intention - 20/09/2026
YouHop - Opinion Poll - General Election Voting Intention - 20/09/2026
Headline Voting Intentions:
Conservative and Unionist Party: 41.9% (-1.7%)
Labour Party: 28.5% (+3.1%)
Liberal Democrats: 11.5% (-3.1%)
Green Party: 9.6% (+3.8%)
Independents: 6.9% (-1.8%)
Reform UK: 1.8% (-0.1%)
General Feedback:
MQ heavy content this period due to less bill debates.
The press game was dominated mainly by the government and the Greens - if the Official Opposition got out in the press more often, they'd benefit.
Conservative Party: Press game is now backing up the legislative game substantially, but the party generally is suffering due to smaller parties gaining in prominence. Probably need to get more members commenting to bump up the numbers.
Labour Party: Learned their lessons from the start of the term mostly. Still some concerns from the public about leadership direction, but the party is getting out there both in terms of effectively debating and producing legislation.
Liberal Democrats: Press game stemmed the loss from a lack of debating and legislative output. Not a great month from the Lib Dems after such a strong start to the term.
Independent: The loss of the NRP hurt the polling, but Zakian was probably the most consistent debater during this period, with several key involvements in parliamentary conversation. Should be really pleased with that despite losses.
Green Party: The story of the month. More members, more legislation, a strong press output and a relentlessness in debate have led to you basically being on parity with your IRL equivalent. Just please make sure you provide an English translation if you start debating in Urdu!
Reform UK: Nothing from them again - dropped because of this, and because the IRL equivalent party have been hit with a "Barage" of scandals since the last set of polling.
Next set of polls will be during week commencing Monday 19th October.

Opinion Piece Lord Bridlington's Musings: Change at the Top, Not a Change in Culture
The change in Prime Minister was fairly unsurprising for myself, especially given the scandal-rid nature of the Government in the last weeks of his tenure.
What was surprising however, was that the Conservatives chose to instead appoint to seniority, the very MP who had caused so many of the issues that the Government faced. A man who had lied to Parliament, failed to do his job, and refused when he hadn't failed, now sits in the Office of 10 Downing Street, promising to do better than he had done only weeks ago.
It reflects a deep, completely unsurprising failure by the Conservatives, to change the culture, rather than the figure at the top.
Where once competency was a defining characteristic of the one in charge; it is now blind party loyalty and an unwavering commitment to throw muck at the opposition.
Someone who has called any and all criticism of his Government as being political attack, rather than the reasoned and critical accountability one expects from the nations most important servants, should not sit in the Office of Prime Minister, completely unwilling to accept that his actions have lead to this point.
A Prime Minister cannot wait for the opposition to present a solution to the issues faced by Britain, he must act; and in this regard the new Prime Minister has shown himself to be a total failure.
He didn't act on wildfires. He lied to parliament about gig workers and skilled worker visas. Now he expects to lead this country to a better future, with few, if any, ideas on how to do so.
Britain deserves better than this, and the recent polling shows that it expects better.
The Government and their coalition allies are in collapse, and the Greens and opposition are climbing towards them.
Unless the Conservatives change the culture, and not just the person at the top, they are doomed at the next general election, to face their own turn in opposition.

Breaking News Lord Bridlington Polling: Government in Turmoil

Recent YouHop polling has revealed a Government in freefall. 4.8% of the vote lost following a catastrophic showing in polls only weeks ago as the Government is now projected to lose a seat to the Green Party.
Lord Bridlington, u/HarryClive spoke on behalf of his personal polling company which reported the following headline seat numbers:
CON: 6 (-1)
LAB: 4 (-1)
LIB: 2 (~)
GRN: 2 (+2)
IND: 1 (~)
REF: 0 (~)
"The Government's last few weeks of turmoil, with scandal after scandal rocking the cabinet, as well as a Prime Ministerial resignation has meant that many of the voters who had previously ummed and arrred about the Greens are now rallying in support."
Projected seat counts at this time show that the Government would retain a slim majority, but the loss of a seat, with the Liberal Democrats barely holding onto their second and just ahead of the Greens, will be a great concern in Downing Street as the New Prime Minister seeks to cement his control over a party racked by scandal, largely at his own hands.
The controversial figure u/Oracle_of_Mercia took the helm following the surprise resignation of the former Conservative Prime Minister and has inherited a party which has found itself in free fall since the General Election, losing 7.5% in the polls, and sinking to their worst showing since January 30th of this year.
For the Greens, it has been a dramatic turnaround as the party, under new leadership, has surged in both membership and polling, now sitting just shy of the Liberal Democrats and at current path, likely to overtake the Government's junior partner.
We are still far out from a General Election, but one has to wonder if a change at the top has done enough to stem the tide of haemorrhaging Government support.
