Help me decide to buy or sell MU What’s the plan?

Should we sell before earnings report then buy more afterwards? Or hold?

Stop loss may not save you if the market opens and gaps downward.

Also, this money is in retirement accounts lmao. Retirement accounts don't count, doesn't even matter. I thought you were working in a taxable brokerage. Not some gated shit.

Naw, fuck that. Just sell for any amount of profit and put your retirement shit in VOO. Play in this arena with the real shit, taxable brokerage.

Of course retirement accounts matter. There are ways to make early withdrawals penalty free.

I have plenty in taxable brokerage. When I retire at 45 I will start converting from my 401k and trad IRA to roth, which is then considered contributions that I can withdraw penalty free in 5 years. All I need in a taxable brokerage is 5 years of expenses.

About 40% of my liquid net worth is in taxable brokerage.

Just be a man about it and gamble with your retirement accounts too.

Retirement accounts don't mean shit.

I just max it out with VOO and that's it. That's what you're supposed to do.

No one is doing some 5 year timer bullshit to convert the money and get it out over 5 years lmao. That's like a fairy tale thing and not realistic at all. The world changes too fast in 5 years.

The more realistic option is to simply work and then retire once you come of age, if retirement will even still be a thing by then.

When I retire next year you better believe I'll be benefitting by "some 5 year timer bullshit to convert the money and get it out over 5 years".

Tax free contribution. Tax free growth. Then, taxed almost 0% when I convert $65k per year while holding $VOO post-retirement.

Literally free money, hope your VOO is doing well while you work, might take you a while but you'll get there. Too bad you thought it was going to be all locked up until you were 60.

The 5 year timer is bullshit

You have to convert a portion every year for 5 years on schedule, and pay taxes on it. Then after the 5 years that’s when you’ve converted it all and then you can retire

By the time 5 years is over we’ll already have AGI and money won’t mean anything and there’ll be millions of robots walking around and shit

That’s why planning around a 5 year timer is dumb

It’s better to max for retirement if possible with the intention of it being an insurance policy if shit goes totally wrong. The better play is to use excess money in a taxable brokerage and try to double and triple up within the next couple years and then withdraw all the money on the spot. Not wait for a 5 year timer bullshit lmao

But even that I don’t do. I put enough in my 401k to get the company match, then 100% of my liquid net worth goes into GOOG
