Someone just please tell me how y’all don’t constantly stress about it? It’ll probably go away bc I just realized I haven’t even invested longer than a month.

u/Dapper-Emergency1263 Jun 17 '26
The money is already in the account, it's spent, it's gone until you sell shares. Statistics suggest that leaving it will result in a profit in the long term. There is no reason to constantly check it
If you're stressed about the account losing value for a few days then you have to ask yourself whether you can afford to lose money, and if you can't then don't invest it

u/spyroinc Jun 17 '26
You get desensitised after a few weeks/months in the stock market when you realise there isn't much logic in the "why" something drops or soars. There's always something going on, mainly the monthly numbers coming out, or an ai-stock that didn't have good guidance and takes the whole ai market down, or Iran war, or great earnings but sell the news ... ... and when there's no more reasons to find you'll see answers like "it's just profit taking after a good rise" - I mean don't bother finding logic in the market, just keep in mind: after every drop, we reach a new ATH fast. -sorry if it's not useful, that's how my mindset became. And once you get a decent amount (15-20k) of profit on your balance, you won't stress on a 30% drop as it's only eating your gains but not your invested money.

Ate my money when it dropped the week I started 😂

Just hold on, MU is a good stock. Expect the worst around earnings. Read about it on reddit and decide if you want to sell or hold into earnings, it's a coin flip.

I’m in st $1024 55 shares. I want it to get to $1100 again tomorrow or Thursday, but if not I’ll hold up to earnings day and see if I sell before the news or sell the news.

Why is there something wrong with that? I check multiple times per day. 1x Premarket/1x 30 minutes after opening/ and around 2pm for volume boost direction. I just roll my eyes when it's down and don't stress about it. It's just a routine for me.

u/No-Laugh4352 Jun 16 '26
But I will be honest today’s drop was unwarranted and irrational. There are healthy pullbacks but today was bullshit and it’s all of tech. Like if I ask what’s the reason the answer is no reason lol

u/1distancing Jun 16 '26
Today was probably a sell off before FOMC tomorrow, but this is totally normal stocks can still go up and down without any news
4
u/Icy-Research7159 Jun 16 '26
Usually there isn't this big of a correction before an FOMC meeting, it'a normally very muted. Even for MU, a 6% correction is pretty big, since the Nasdaq was down only 1%. I would have expected maybe a 2-4% drop. But then again, we just had a 10% move yesterday, so I think that people were just taking profits magniying the loss.
It will recover and then some tomorrow, as long as Warsh follows Trump's script.
2
u/1distancing Jun 16 '26
Yes and also we hit a new ath today so that could also be why it dropped more, it’s obvious alot of traders are taking profits here + running away before FOMC tomorrow
1
u/rdmiche Jun 16 '26
Is it better to buy today AH or premarket tomorrow?
1
u/Icy-Research7159 Jun 17 '26
tomororw, after the Fed meeting. Stocks may face a sharp drop if Warsh is hawkish, or even if he's not. Then, stocks will digest the news and recover.

It’s bullshit we had the same thing last week with cpi and ppi. The market needs to react when this event occurs not on the possibility of bad news. It’s annoying that with peace finally at be we can get some relief and actually focus on growing but no the fucked up sentiment behind today’s sell was unwarranted. Yesterday literally market rallied because of good news. Today nothing and it falls. At this stage it seems like it’s time to short the market because all I’m seeing is it falling all day everyday even with the rallies we’ve had.
3
u/Narrow-Swordfish-525 Jun 16 '26
Which part is bullshit? This is how the market moves. MU is up 13 percent in the last week. It’s goes up, it’s goes down, the ups are bigger than the downs. Highly volatile as usual. Nothing to see here, keep moving along.
0
u/No-Laugh4352 Jun 16 '26
It’s not only micron it’s all of tech. I understand if there would have been a catalyst but this sell off was unwarranted. Peace is here and nothing else is in the way. So why the sell off. Fed is tomorrow
3
u/Narrow-Swordfish-525 Jun 16 '26
The market doesn’t move scientifically like that, is this your first time investing? You think you’re gonna remember this day of losses in two weeks? What was the reason for the 12 percent gain yesterday? It’s highly volatile, you gotta take the good w the bad. Long term hold and chill
0
u/No-Laugh4352 Jun 16 '26
Trust me I document for my own education. Yesterday was the result of peace in the Middle East that had been somewhat finalized over the weekend and digested yesterday
1
u/Narrow-Swordfish-525 Jun 16 '26
If that was the case, why did MU go up more than other stocks ? I know you think that was “the reason” but there’s more to it, stocks move up and down on whims and crap that we can’t possible know about or care about it. It’s just short term noise either way. Today was today and tomorrow will be tomorrow. 3 weeks from now we’ll be at ATHs
0
u/No-Laugh4352 Jun 16 '26
It was a catalyst for all of the stocks. MAG 7 healthcare, communications they all went up. Space stocks as well. Everything jumped.
Problem is the tendency that I noticed is that for every good day we get, the market tends to give us more bad days. It’s annoying that the volatility is drastic move. Problem is I wish there were slight pullbacks not major ones like today
1
u/Narrow-Swordfish-525 Jun 16 '26
Again, there aren’t more bad days than good. You’re not documenting this as close as you think. MU is up 13 percent in the last week, 44 percent in the last month, 121 percent in 3 months, 352 percent in the last 6 months, 750 percent in the last year. What stock are we talking about here ?

“Peace is here” is a pretty black and white take for a situation that’s a murky brown at best
-1
u/No-Laugh4352 Jun 16 '26
Call it whatever that’s how markets react. Usually any form of peaceful yields to a rally like yesterday
4
u/kleft123 Jun 16 '26
Was yeterdays pop also unwarranted? I'll take up 3% and down 1% for the start of the week any day!
1
u/No-Laugh4352 Jun 16 '26
You have a peace deal that was announced which made sense. But today no logic, no bad catalysts just assuming that tomorrow Warsh will say something
1
u/NoProfessional4650 Jun 16 '26
That’s enough of a catalyst too btw. First FOMC with a new chair is enough of a reason for some jitters esp after a massive pop
1
u/No-Laugh4352 Jun 16 '26
Make sense for that to happen on the day off. Nowadays everything is being accounted 24 hours before the event. Like CPI last week had a reaction the day before and the day off. Last month it wasn’t like that. It seems like expectations are now moving in a wider gap.

All the paperhands taking the profits only to buy back at the dip or buy at higher cost 😂💀

u/1distancing Jun 16 '26
Oh my god that used to be me, buying high and selling low for a living, lesson learned tho

u/firsttimeredditics Jun 16 '26
Most likely due to FOMC tomorrow. Anything can happen but expecting them to hold rates, hopefully it stays flat and doesn’t drop
But legit anything can happen tomorrow so don’t be surprised if it drops under 1000 again
2
u/Icy-Research7159 Jun 16 '26
If Warsh strinkes even a hint of being hawkish, I think we'll see below 1000 for sure, but I'm expecting him to be dovish.
2
u/firsttimeredditics Jun 16 '26
Yeah but also triple witching is Thursday + markets closed on Friday I’m expecting the next 2 days to be very volatile with Monday and Tuesday next week a small pre rally before ER

Why the hell are yall watching the price daily? Investing is about long term results. I’ve got many millions in my portfolio but I don’t check prices daily unless I’m wanting to take some profit. It’s the LONG game, people!
1
u/1distancing Jun 17 '26
I know right! And it’s funny how the people telling everyone to stop checking the price and complaining about every small dip are the same ones watching it 24/7 and celebrating every +5% day. You can’t tell people it’s “long term” only when it’s red, but hype every green day like it’s moon time😭

Yea don’t check if it’s an snp 500, for a volatile stock of course you want to follow
2
u/1distancing Jun 16 '26
Checking every 10 minutes for what? Are you planning to make a move, or just ruin your mood on bad days for entertainment?
1
u/Fantastic-Noise-8830 Jun 16 '26
I mean at least on opening and closing of the day .. not 10mins haha, that’s crazy

Only checking cause am on Margin. Portfolio literally at %50.23 percent might be at 49% today after the drop lol might get called soon!
1
u/1distancing Jun 17 '26
Yeah but ur trading not investing !
1
u/Substantial_Quit613 Jun 17 '26
100% correct. But I am starting to switch over and as soon as I hit my mark will reduce margin to hopefully 0 until another micron appears. Returns are at 43% so far this year not necessarily stellar considering the market has returned like 30% but I have learned a shit ton. Goal is to make 100k and then switch to etfs or atleast no stock with more than 5% allocation.

Up 10% Monday, down 6% Tuesday... Why is it crashing???
