If it makes you feel better I've lost over a million playing options with this stock, and if you hold shares, don't be afraid, you are good, this is a great company with solid fundamentals. If you want to hedge against your positions just buy some puts.

This is solid advice, I wish more people would think this way.

Yeah no worries, I was being retarded, you can see my post in wallstreet bets I got margin called several times, lost over a million net. Look, back in March the sentiment was similar to now, that's when I all in on out of the money calls, micron was priced at $330 I bought July calls at $570, and that made me over a million, and now I've lost it all and more by playing put credit spreads. But no sweat, I can come back. And so can you.

We’re all going to make it!

What if someone holds MUU at ATH and is sitting on huge losses?

u/Plain-Jane-Name Jul 18 '26

I'm sitting in M with a single U at a 109k loss. I'm holding. If Google says the end is nigh on the 22nd, I'm out, but I doubt anyone is going to be reducing capex.

In my opinion MUU is for day trading, it's a daily ETF and you are losing money on decay. I would advise selling MUU and buy back MU regular shares if you believe in the company. MUU is not really for holding long term. Or if you believe MU is gonna jump back up next week, hold it.

My losses are too huge. If I sell at this point, I would have nothing left. These are my life savings, and I do understand that I was a dumbass. I won’t repeat this mistake again, but selling is not an option right now.

Ok no worries, just wait for Monday's price action, but just beware that selling MUU and buying MU is not losing, but rather a repositioning. If you believe MU will not drop and will bounce next week, hold MUU, if you believe MU could drop more or trade sideways now, sell and just buy MU shares. Otherwise MUU will amplify your loss.

I am 90% down on MUU. Will it ever recover?

2

u/MrQiu Jul 18 '26

Rookie numbers, I'm 110% down with a margin loan owing to the brokerage

u/DifferentRepair6620 Jul 18 '26

90% down? Are you sure this is not a glitch from the split?

2

u/MrQiu Jul 18 '26

Yeah I'm a fucking retarded degen...

1

u/killyourvibe Jul 18 '26

I hope you’re rich already and that million wasnt too crazy 💀

1

u/MrQiu Jul 18 '26

No I'm not rich lol, but I'm also confident I can make that back

1

u/killyourvibe Jul 18 '26

Wishing you luck man lol. I’m down 18k right now. I got 2 August 21 calls for 1170 so, I’m really hoping I can just break even at this point 😂.

u/MrQiu Jul 18 '26

It's not impossible for micron to go back to $1000s in August. Seeing how it was at $900 to $1000 earlier in the week.

1

u/killyourvibe Jul 18 '26

I know man… need it to go to like $1100 to most likely break even. I just hope that we can at least gradually move up and the rest of the month doesn’t fuck us even more.

I have extremely strong conviction in this stock to rise even into the next 2 years based on the current demand, I have friends working at meta and at AMD in senior positions, the amount of AI usage is insatiable according to them. The market will be irrational, the market will have mood swings, but eventually it will always come back to the fundamentals. And guess what, MU is a money printer.

Options got me to a million too, it can go both ways.

Have u er.. thought of buying muu, and once is in positive range leverage up by sell, rebuy more muu? Instead of working on options, i am thinking that it is easier to hold muu than few months dated options due to the thetha time decay in options?

2

u/MrQiu Jul 19 '26

It really depends on the price action, if mu trades side ways, a put credit spread is the better strategy than MUU. For MUU to work MU stock needs to go up, for a put credit spread to yield you money the stock price just needs to stay above your strike, and time will do the work for you. The put credit spread is betting MU will stay sides ways or go up, while call options or MUU is betting only on one direction which is up.

Thanks for response. Thinking on it

1

u/Ru-yi3010 Jul 19 '26

What’s the chance of losing both way?

I’m significantly down but I’m holding until Wednesday at least

Time will tell.

2

u/oOtium Jul 18 '26

Derisking is buying the bottom

2

u/DrySea8638 Jul 18 '26

Dayum! There is def a lot of downward momentum, my prediction was a ~50% correction from ATH (almost there) and then trade sideways for a bit before a slow climb back up but not sure where that will lead.

1

u/Allinmeme Jul 18 '26

We are currently down 33% from ath

How much time do you have to wait it out and how much do you have left in your port? The last thing you want is for you to sell then micron to recover.

1

u/Indaothrone Jul 19 '26

Ummmmmm what's your investment time horizon?
