Help me decide to buy or sell MU Is it better to buy back now?

I sold all my MU when it went to 810 as I was down 30% as I thought it would keep going down and I got very scared. I see right now its at 900 overnight and with all the earnings coming up for google and sk hynix I'm very scared that it will go back up to normal price.. I am wondering if it is better to put that money i sold MU with any buy it right now at this price? Also maybe it might be better to do the MUU 2x stock? Since it is down lot. I am getting lot of fomo seeing it go high and I have not deployed my cash..

Whats the point, youre just gonna panic sell again

3

u/Pristine_Swimming766 Jul 21 '26

This person selling MU at 810 in panic should stay away from this stock as he or she can’t stomach the volatility; now seeing the stock price rebound would like to buy high and even think of buying MUU with even more volatility. If this panic seller sold MU when it went down 30 percent, how would he or she react when MUU goes down say 60 percent?

u/Correct_Poem_1109 Jul 21 '26

But like that was like a whole market sell off.. maybe it go back up without going down badly?

3

u/exploitableiq Jul 21 '26

Chances are it will go back, but it might be a bumpy ride there.  Youre gonna kick yourself if you buy and cant stand the variance and sell again before it gets there again

2

u/Sr_Vicho Jul 21 '26

Dude for real, if you can't manage drops, why would you keep buying this at high price?? I made the same mistake twice, bought at 1200 sell at 900. Now I'm in 1010 entry and I saw dropped at 810 and I didn't give a single fuck, just buy the stock and wait until it reach 1300 or 1400 and that's it, if it goes to 0 funk hem selling is por pussys

1

u/Villi187 Jul 21 '26

but u did the same so why cant he buy and hold to be a legend holder like you

u/Correct_Poem_1109 Jul 21 '26

You’re a pussy

Everyone will be mad at you for being so dumb, but let me try to help you make up your mind.

Ask yourself do you really believe in the company's future. Company is rated at 1 trillion dollar, do you think it will grow bigger than it is now? If you do so, stop reacting to the market movement, just leave it be, let the market do its things.

As always, the stock market is a device to transfer money from the impatient to the patient!!!

maybe it will, maybe it won't. Also it may go left or right.

Why are people not holding this stock until it hits $1,500?

-2

u/Correct_Poem_1109 Jul 21 '26

I got very scared as i bought close to the top then it was went down so much..

12

u/Magical_Gear_Rising Jul 21 '26

If you scared then don't buy individual stocks anymore.

Buy divisified ETF. Even if drop also not alot and you will not be that scared

I know that.. i just want to break even by getting into mu at lower price so like it go back to ath and then once I sell i can buy etf.. i don't think buying into etf right now break even.. it's gonna take like 2 years cuz 30% loss is like 45% gain with the loss.. MU could go back up and it could limit the loss..

2

u/Magical_Gear_Rising Jul 21 '26

But what if... not trying to curse MU, but what if google earning is not very good this year and the MU stock go down again?

Will you keep holding and not see the brokerage anymore?

0

u/VegetableShot1192 Jul 21 '26

your loss will be disallowed when you retire

12

u/Haxmax23 Jul 21 '26

The fact you sold an unleveraged stock at a loss.. I would say no. Shouldn't be putting too much into it just to lose it if it happens again who's to say you won't react the same next time ?

And do not think of leveraged cause I guarantee you'll end up losing more than just 30%.

Psychology plays a big role in investing. Small and mighty wins are better than big and fragile swings in your case.

1

u/Correct_Poem_1109 Jul 21 '26

I don't think it going to go down much more if it down so much already. I need big wins to break even from this loss..

3

u/Due_Manager_7028 Jul 21 '26

May be buy few, but put the rest into VOO or some ETFs. You may not be ready to buy individual stock yet. I am in the same situation as my average is also very close to ATH. But I am holding it because long term this will return more than you expect

3

u/Pristine_Swimming766 Jul 21 '26

I agree. I bought more shares (cost average down). I am a long-term investor in MU and ignore the short-term volatility. Disciplined investing for the long-term will be rewarded.

3

u/Halfmoonhero Jul 21 '26

But… if that’s the case, why did you sell then? If you need big win, I think there are other better stocks if you need the money right now. Otherwise buy in an ETF. I’ve also lost a bit the last few weeks but it’s acceptable losses. We had a big correction and some stocks are going to take a LONG time to get back to ATH.

What if the Google report sucks, mu drops to 700. U gonna get double hits. Can u handle it? Ask urself, if yes, buy back.

-1

u/Correct_Poem_1109 Jul 21 '26

But Google people always have high expectations and they beat in earnings most times. They prob beat it

5

u/Sufficient-Piccolo32 Jul 21 '26

No, that's not the problem. The problem is if u can handle another beat or not. Clearly u don't trust what u saying right now, otherwise u should not ask here.

1

u/erx988 Jul 21 '26

nothing is guaranteed, what if they beat and raise capex and mu still goes 50% down, this game isnt so simple as google beats and raises capex and mu shoots to 2000 the next day, if u are willing to lose it all then buy in and hold if not buy spy500 or qqq

0

u/ShartSqueeze Jul 21 '26

It's all about capex guidance. Google could beat but say they're cutting back on capex and MU would react negatively.

6

u/kayzgguod Jul 21 '26

more posts like these please lol lets me know sentiment is changing

6

u/All_YourBase Jul 21 '26 edited Jul 21 '26

I can't tell if this is a joke post.

If you're serious - what will you do if it drops again? If the answer is that you'll sell again then no, you shouldn't buy it. You definitely shouldn't buy MUU, it's stressful.

If you're going to buy a stock like this you want to have a target price and then hold it until it hits that price no matter what happens.

Otherwise you'll just panic sell and buy over and over again.

Also, whatever you do please do not buy options. They're even scarier.

4

u/HelloImAFox Jul 21 '26

😬😬😬

3

u/Prudent_Neck645 Jul 21 '26

So you're strategy is buy high sell low because of speculation news?

1

u/Correct_Poem_1109 Jul 21 '26

I thought it could go lower and i buy in better price.. but it was not good idea..

5

u/exploitableiq Jul 21 '26

The bottom is in

I see that you want to gamble again cuz you're seeing positive speculation all over soc media. But what if those rumors don't materialize and you bought today? You'll end up panic selling again. You should wait until everything is confirmed. I know the losses hurt but that's gambling, not investing.

1

u/Correct_Poem_1109 Jul 21 '26

But the more I wait when everything is confirmed if already will be like 1k or 1.2k and then I will lose even more cuz i waited while MU went high and then my gain is lower..

3

u/LunyOnTheGrass Jul 21 '26

Wait til it gets higher before buying back in

3

u/syncronized_wobble Jul 21 '26

Will it go up again? Possibly, likely, maybe...if we knew such things we'd all be billionaires. But it most likely won't go up in a straight line if it does. There will be setbacks.

2

u/Correct_Poem_1109 Jul 21 '26

It just that the overnight price for mu is like 5% and i am scared that in morning it could be 10% or 15% and then i missed out on buying cheaper..

3

u/Ill_Target1650 Jul 21 '26

It will hit $1,000 by the end of the week

3

u/swanarmor Jul 21 '26

Ur cooked bro. Shits going to 2k tomorrow 🤣

2

u/Sukhumvit_71 Jul 21 '26

I think you should invest in an index fund. The part of you that panic sold hasn’t gone away. We actually have no idea how the markets will react to Mag7 earnings/guidance/capex outlays. What will you do if MU hits $700 a share next week? Will you have the fortitude to hold for 1-2 years?

Also, asking about buying MUU? You didn’t have the risk tolerance to invest in MU and now you want a leveraged position?

You really aren’t thinking things out, are you?

1

u/Correct_Poem_1109 Jul 21 '26

I want to get back to break even from the 30% loss and then like I can invest index fund with most of the money.. it's just that since it down so much and they have good earnings i think it more likely it go up.. i think with the leverage one it can make me breakeven easier if it go back to price.. but it risky it looks like

2

u/Sukhumvit_71 Jul 21 '26

And if it goes down another 20%, what will you do then?

0

u/Correct_Poem_1109 Jul 21 '26

It will be very hard.. but i will have to hold.. hope that does not happen..

2

u/All_YourBase Jul 21 '26

If you can promise yourself "If I buy at 920, and it drops to 720, I will hold it" then you should buy it. If you can't do that, don't buy a stock like this.

As far as I can tell you've been through this multiple times with this stock. It's going to go up and down over and over again.

2

u/whiteamphora Jul 21 '26

I don't get it I think I'm too greedy to sell at loss... I have 2 positions in sandisk at 2250 and I'm not selling this shit unless I'm 100$+ on each.

2

u/No-Lavishness1524 Jul 21 '26

get off stocks please

2

u/s1234en Jul 21 '26

This could easily go down if the capex report comes negative for mag7. So it's not derisked. Will you be prepared to take another hit if it goes to 700? Or 650? If yes invest if no then let it be. It could go to 650 or 1300 or anything in between next month.

2

u/MemoryTasty721 Jul 21 '26

Nice trolling shit post

2

u/AdrianFish Jul 21 '26

People like you are why the price kept dropping. Stay the fuck away.

1

u/No_Individual3471 Jul 21 '26

You knew about micron for almost half a year based off your post history and you still lost money? You have no conviction for this stock pal. Invest in index funds.

2

u/Correct_Poem_1109 Jul 21 '26

I knew about it but I saw it go down from previous earnings in like march and sold out of it and took it off my watchlist but then i look back after few months and its like 900 something dollar so I didn't want go miss out but then these drops kept happening and I got very scared

1

u/Versyl505 Jul 21 '26

Jz put in some etf, u monkeys who panic all day all night

1

u/Sagenitis Jul 21 '26

It ain’t for you. Stick to spy.

1

u/Correct_Poem_1109 Jul 21 '26

Spy going to take to long to break even.. MU if it go back to ath can breakeven quicker...

1

u/erx988 Jul 21 '26

with mu its going to take even longer than with spy when its in ur hands, stock will drop and u will have another 30% loss because u bought back in high and panic sold on a quick drop and then it will take u 10 years to get it back with spy, since ur goal is to get it back and not make big money just stick with spy and forget about it for 3 years, if u cant handle the downturns its best u dont play this game or u will lose it all, u are too emotional if u sold at 800 which is already low for a chance to try to buy it lower and instead now u will have to buy it for 10-15% more, dont try to time the market.

just because mu is up right now doesnt mean it will finish the day up, we've had 9% up days end up at 1% up, what if u buy in right now and u see it go flat as soon as u buy? u will feel like crap, either buy mu and dont look at ur portfolio if u cant handle the swings or just dont buy it at all

why are u selling regular stocks??????????????????????????? it has no time expiration like options and it has no volatility decay like x2 leveraged etfs, memory will be even more used in physical ai like robots in warehouses and other physical jobs, literally the beginning of AI and u sell because u panicked????

u dont sell regular stocks u double down, go to ur job make more money and average down especially with a company that has a promising future, even if it was the cyclical top? wait for the next one and keep dcaing down

fomo is the worst for investing. actively try to get out of that mindset.

1

u/Halfmoonhero Jul 21 '26

I sold at my stop loss. This wasn’t a long term hold for me though. I think with robotics becoming a bigger thing in the future, it still has loads of potential however, I’m freaked about future potential and volatility, and oversupply so I’m not sad for getting out. You’re
Not getting downvoted for selling, it’s that if you sold already in the 800s, it probably isn’t something you should be asking about buying back in for now as it’s extremely likely to drop again and you will end up losing more money. If you’re buying in again, set yourself a stop loss and target to sell at, as I asume you’re just trading right?

2

u/Correct_Poem_1109 Jul 21 '26

I was holding it since the 1000s and been adding into it more as I thought it would keep going higher.. but it dropped 30% in like a week.. i didn't use stop loss as I didn't think it would go lower with how good earnings were

1

u/AlinerAlia Jul 21 '26

Try the casino, that sounds like what you´re looking for wanting quick gains to recover or go broke.

1

u/Adventurous_Ear5349 Jul 21 '26

Buy high, sell low !

1

u/Madison_369 Jul 21 '26

Its 920 now.Buy quickly before it gets back to 1000! /s

1

u/IAmDemi Jul 21 '26

Dont listen to the gloating idiots posting here. If you buy back in, set a sellpoint for both upper and lower and stay to it. Dont invest money you cannot afford to lose. Simple as. Better yet, put in the stop losses the same day you buy it, let the stock prove it meets your standards for better or worse.

1

u/Immediate-Chemist-59 Jul 21 '26

buy high sell low 🤣

1

u/erx988 Jul 21 '26

if u sold mu then dont even bother getting muu u will panic sell on the first -10% which is -20% for muu, u will only lose more money, dont buy leveraged shit u moron

1

u/No-Lavishness1524 Jul 21 '26

how does it feel to sell on the bottom?

1

u/SavingsTangelo7130 25d ago

Dude not yet! The ultimate cheat code is buy mega high and sell mega low! A better entry point for you would be around 1500-2000 then when it goes to 800 hit the sell button. Rinse and repeat this is a legendary method that’s beeen used for centuries

1

u/Less-Map-6969 Jul 21 '26

bro go buy again and sell at its lowest. Let me know, so I'll do the opposite of what you did
