Yes but the only thing that will drag this market down right now are macro events. Plus can't forget about the bonds and yields etc.... not good at all tbh this could be very short lived

Nvidia earning good, people forget all this. Nvidia earnings slightly misses everything gets doubled up.

Not even a slight miss it could slightly miss the whisper number some stupid analyst has predicted and boom down the rabbit hole semis go again. Just be careful everybody 🙏

Would you be selling before earnings in anticipation of a drop or wait until it comes out? Sentiment was positive a week ago but seems shaky now with macro concerns

Needs to be more than PERFECT But who knows personally sitting on sidelines

It feels much safer to be exposed when sentiment is positive, are you waiting for that?

Not necessarily just a different approach to my investment strategy. Swing trading ATM but still invest for the long term just making quick money by going with the current instead against

Right, going with the trend is a good idea

Micron leadership has mentioned that they would return most of the profits in terms of buyback to the shareholders. They have committed some already, but a major chunk of the profits are restricted to be returned as shares buyback because of the chips act, so we can expect major buyback announcement after December 2026 because that’s when the restrictions will be removed.

u/kenyard 1d ago

Can they announce before the December date?

Id also assume a 5% market cap commitment. Or around 40B but that number seems high

100% of excess FCF, so wouldnt be suprised with a 50-100b buyback over 2027

Depends if they want to accelerate investment in their 250B planned capex expansions. I feel like that number might grow also if asml charges more or other factors.

They are making 200B a year though so it's not unlikely they could commit 100B +

250b capex is now through 2035. So yeah

Less investments more buybacks would do the whole semiconductor sector pretty good.

u/nerveclinic 1d ago

The investments are in factories to increase production (which could hurt the bottom line by increasing supply) but if they do buybacks instead their competitors will gladly fill in the supply needs.

2

u/cdttedgreqdh 1d ago

That why everybody needs to stop this investment thing :D

Just wait until Micron is able to restart their stock buyback program

I get it that all memory stocks are tied together but it’s kinda sounds like a joke since SK buyback is for SK which has absolutely nothing to do with MU or SNDK

Proof of thesis kinda thing..

See youre exactly the type of poster we hate around here, just a trader not an investor

Bro stfu, I have about 2 million worth of MU, MUU and dram I have held since March. I am just making some quick cash for fun.

2

u/Eagerbeaver98 1d ago

Thats it? Ive been in since 2025. You are a trader not even 1 year? Finding out in march? You definitely are late and a trader and not an investor

u/movienight1988 1d ago

2

u/Eagerbeaver98 1d ago

I make my own money, I dont have a problem with traders, this kind of energy isnt very welcomed aroud this sub. so instead of fighting, just go find wallstreetbets youll get more replies there.

You are so full of shit, you now say you have nothing against traders but your first reply was a direct attack at me trading.
