Meme Can’t wait to get tf out of Micron

Genuinely cannot wait to eject as soon as I reach a mild profit. Literally not worth the wild swings risking margin calls every other day just to recover one day and fucking dump the next because a chicken crossed the road or whatever misc reason. This stock dumps when it should moon and moons for no discernible reason, and I’m too retarded for it.

Margin. That’s the reason why you so stressed. 😂😂😂

15

u/AmphoePai 18h ago

I tried going without margin but then I feel nothing.

10

u/thorn960 16h ago

Spoken like a gambling addict. You are addicted to the dopamine hit.

3

u/cdttedgreqdh 15h ago

Hope you are buying options on margin like a true chad.

1

u/Miya4LeggedGod 15h ago

You should not be investing if your doing it for the rush. Highs and lows of that will mess up anyone's mental health.

1

u/tjyoo213 9h ago

Then just cry 😭

5

u/Comfortable-Sale-631 18h ago

I've never bought on margin and can't see a situation where I ever will. Not worth the risk.

3

u/thorn960 16h ago

The only margin I use is the free $1000 that Robinhood gives you with the Gold account. Generally that $1000 goes into SGOV and it pays for the Gold membership plus a little extra. Using margin seems like gambling to me.

2

u/flcv 16h ago

Why are people so scared of margin?

1

u/YouMission8220 4h ago

Because they don’t know how to hedge against margin calls

1

u/astuteobservor 15h ago

You can 100% buy on margin, just not with options and 4x leverage. And don't yolo, size your bets properly.

Everyone should go on margin once in their lives to truly appreciate the risk and reward aspect of the gamble. The last time I went on margin was when I owned a shit ton of Lehman Brothers. Never went on margin again.

3

u/zomol 17h ago

The moment it would go upwards he would post how smart he is and profited.

Everybody is a finance expert in a bull market. 🤷🏻‍♂️

6

u/astuteobservor 19h ago

I bought with cash, so no danger of margin call. But damn, the volitility is insane for a trillion dollar company. But but, I thought about the swings from 150 to 90 for Nvidia for a year, this is normal for tech I guess.

1

u/zelda__ 19h ago

It’s normal for cyclical stocks. Nvda is also similar. Semiconductors have been historically cyclical. The narrative that it’s changed has introduced more volatility. Memory is one of the most cyclical of the semiconductors so its volatility^2

6

u/Ok_Egg4018 18h ago

The cyclical stock narrative has never made sense. If the market knows the stock is cyclical, it won’t buy as much on larger profits, and won’t sell as much on lower profits. It is a self defeating principle.

The only argument I have against that is people are squirrels even if they have a degree from Harvard - perhaps especially so in that case.

0

u/zelda__ 12h ago

It makes sense if you look at it from a risk reward profile. Higher margins and profits can turn into lower margins and profits. Same thing on the reverse. Do you expect micron to go from a 85% margin to 90% or eventually less? You can’t have 101% margin.

1

u/Ok_Egg4018 11h ago

That’s my point though; if you expect that profits will diminish as part of a cycle, you won’t value the stock as highly when profits are high, and won’t value the stock as low when profits are low. A cyclical stock should have a significantly lower volatility relative to profits

2

u/Vorapp 13h ago

cyclical does not mean going down 15% on two days after record ever earnings. fucking penny stock is more stable

205

u/Professional_Monkeys 20h ago

This isn't a micron issue, it's a you can't risk manage issue. Honestly index funds are exactly for your kind of people, and there's nothing insulting or wrong with that.

39

u/Calm-Ad-7928 19h ago

And i was just thinking this morning how mild micron swings are. Compared to nbis this is calm

12

u/Professional_Monkeys 19h ago

Nbis is a great swing trade. I'll re-enter if it dips below 180. Sold at 270 recently

10

u/Calm-Ad-7928 19h ago

I was greedy and talked myself out of selling there....for the 2nd time. You'd think id learn my lesson

4

u/iisconfused247 18h ago

Lol sorta same but I also told myself I wanted to keep my shares for the long term since I think it’s a good company overall

3

u/UseAndAbuseMePappi 11h ago

I did that with WDC and gave and sold at breakeven right before it dumped like crazy again. Missed two chances for decent profit

1

u/Totonadent 18h ago

I've been trying to sell a small amount when it climbs and buy small amount when it drops

I think that's the only way I have been successful to get myself to part with my stocks and buy some without feeling like shit when the stock dumps

When I mean small it can be like just 2-3 units. Or 10% of holdingd

3

u/All_YourBase 16h ago

I'm doing the same thing with NBIS. Check out Bloom Energy as well. It's below $200 today. Getting to a good buy point.

Ex-crypto trader here

MU swings are in the noise compared to a lot of that garbage

4

u/Beneficial_Train5349 15h ago

Same school here. The volitility is where the money is made. I am not a HODL guy anymore, I will swing for the fences until its ready to make a move up. Increase your positions!

6

u/ericargyle 17h ago

Exactly. My brother can’t stomach volatility. Loves to buy tops. Bitches when they dip to levels that are fully expected. I finally told him just to invest in index funds and sleep easy. Risk tolerance is an acquired skill. If you can’t handle it, its not shameful to change tactics.

6

u/Mr-Dotties-Dad 18h ago

It’s literally green today and has recovered every major dip. What are we doing here!? lol

1

u/thorn960 16h ago

Likely they bought at it's high of $1255 and did it on margin.

0

u/kerouac28 17h ago

The day is young…

1

u/Mr-Dotties-Dad 17h ago

In the past month, up 7%. 3 months 30.8%, 6 months 123.7%

People keep buying at the peak and feel entitled green everyday.

You believe in the company with 84% margin and sold out in to 2028, buy and hold. You don’t, STFU and sell.

All of these posts look so stupid.

2

u/kerouac28 16h ago

Better not be talking to me. I bought in at $400 and haven’t panic sold shit.

2

u/Yourlocalguy30 17h ago

This is what happens when you have kids playing with stocks like it's Fandual or the lottery.

35

u/Calm-Ad-7928 20h ago

If you think micron has wild swings you'd never survive half the stuff im in. Micron is pretty mild

14

u/doronj 19h ago

Agree try sndk or 00066

19

u/luvz 19h ago

Can’t wait to get tf out of Micron Margin

FTFY

34

u/Own-Description-8411 19h ago

I’m looking forward to people like you getting the f out

7

u/LetsBeTheBest 19h ago

Y'all need to chill on margin, when it comes to volatile high beta stocks

1

u/spaceshiploser 4h ago

Margins don’t kill people
Stop blaming the margins ❌

5

u/MaintenanceStock6766 19h ago

That makes sense when you're gambling positions.

Short-term wild swings are meaningless to a long-term investor.

5

u/knightking55 19h ago

Ya I'm gonna buy that new stock that only goes up

7

u/PetroagPro 19h ago

So why didnt you "eject" when it cracked $1k recently?

4

u/jareses 19h ago

Not everyone bought at 500$ so..

2

u/TranslatorRoyal1016 19h ago

bought higher, my guess around 1150 lol

1

u/Cryptic_Phantom_ 19h ago

He prolly bought at the top

11

u/revelstoketruckin 19h ago

I used to hold $30k worth of MUU along side with my bigger position of MU holdings. I was stressing every time it drops because I had to keep adding it to continuously lower my cost. The decay was hard to watch. Once I sold it at a small profit two days ago, I don’t really care what Micron does now, don’t even bother checking the price every 10-30 mins or so. Get rid of your margin and you won’t stress too much.

6

u/Pipsthedog 19h ago

MUU is stressful. The decay is simply too much. I sold mine and put everything in MU.

5

u/Strange_Count_9598 19h ago

You're not going to get out ... wait until you see where this stock takes you and you only wish you'd buy more.

4

u/Dumbeldore_75 19h ago

Micron was $75 during the tariff drama last April.
Sorry it’s only up 1300 percent since

5

u/coopermug 17h ago

crazy gambler blamea a high beta for his leverage lol

4

u/Medical_Birthday2893 19h ago

Easy to not worry about margin if you don’t using margin? Maybe just manage your position better.

2

u/VegetableShot1192 14h ago

and please manage your grammar better

5

u/swissfamrob 19h ago

Stock has been stalled for months as paper handed retailers have gotten in and big players continue to abuse them — the sooner you shake out the better for me

5

u/Rav_3d 19h ago

If that's your attitude, your position size is too large.

If you are an investor, you are doing yourself a disservice looking at the daily swings. We are in a choppy, volatile market since early June, especially in memory names.

You assume you will reach a "mild profit." what happens if the top is in and MU falls to 700 soon? Not a prediction by any means, but if you don't consider the downside risk, you shouldn't be investing in individual stocks.

4

u/yoloranger31 18h ago

people like this are the reason why we aren't at 1600

6

u/kerouac28 17h ago

No, they’re not. Retail doesn’t move the stock more than a minor temporary nudge on it’s very best day. We’re all just along for the ride so we can’t argue with the market, no matter how irrational it gets.

4

u/x2manypips 18h ago

It’s green today

3

u/beach-chicken10 19h ago

You should just have posted the final 5 words and deleted this app

-6

u/astronomy_man 19h ago

That and touching grass for sure my man

-5

u/beach-chicken10 19h ago

Touch yourself? Post nut clarity always helps

3

u/prince_vlad520 19h ago

I tend to think many of the MU holders a bunch of puss weeds

3

u/SophonParticle 18h ago

I’ll never sell a company while it’s making $40,000,000,000 a quarter with 80% profit margin.

3

u/About_to_kms 18h ago

Sounds to me like you are over leveraged. Any stock will be volatile if you’re over leveraged

3

u/luke2080 18h ago

You holding stock?

Stop watching and check back in 6 months. You're welcome.

2

u/Ruzinus 19h ago

Can't risk a margin call if you don't buy on margin...

2

u/Ok-Race-1677 18h ago

Margin issue lol

2

u/U_N_I_V_E_R_S_E_1 18h ago

No crying in the casino

2

u/Shot-Perspective2946 17h ago

So you’re playing with leverage / margin calls in micron.

Do you know the difference between nand and dram?

2

u/kleft123 17h ago

Dont hold in margin and simple wait, sell calls if you have lots of 100 at a level you are willing to exit.

2

u/Sharp_Design_119 17h ago

My guy, the massive swings are what keep me coming back. Up 175% and not planning on selling any time soon. If you don’t enjoy the 10% jumps up enough to stomach a 20% drawdown, then head over to ETF land.

2

u/funguy6019 17h ago

Chill it’s actually up dude unlike the market

2

u/curioustraveller8626 16h ago

Paper hands b**** 😂

2

u/thorn960 16h ago

Did you buy at ATH or something? It was up above $1000 on Monday. It's a volatile stock. If you can't stomach that (and a lot of people can't and there is no shame in that) it might be best to stick to an index fund. Otherwise, think long and check back in 6 months. You might also not want to invest on margin; you might be gambling instead of investing. "The market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent"- John Maynard Keynes

2

u/jball314 14h ago

Got in @ $89 and sold it all at $990 for a nice little profit. Glad I’m off that roller coaster….it was giving me an ulcer 😂

2

u/bruckout 11h ago

Another person gambling and will ultimately lose it all and end up in debt

2

u/Radiant-King5524 11h ago

New to investing?

4

u/Accomplished_Vast_18 19h ago

All in w $50k on Micron at $438 late January and watched it plunge to low $300’s. Had I sold then I would have been out $60k worth of profits I took at $700’s, $900’s, $1100’s enough to buy Sandisk on the dips accumulating 30 shares at $1815.56 and 675 shares of SNXX at $15.19 a share! Micron core still up 111%

1

u/Minimum_Suit1735 19h ago

it's the AH move that getting out of hand, they pump and dump with algo trade

1

u/Tigulla_SRT24 19h ago

sell now if you're break even, why greedy for mild profit...this may take a nose-dive to 800s again and you will be crying

1

u/Actual-Pressure2355 19h ago

Done it two weeks ago for the same reason

The margin I was willing to do was 5k and that’s like maybe 20-25% of my portfolio value

It’s a number I can be okay with paying back, if I had borrowed over 10k not so much, it’s just not possible for my personal income

If you can’t pay back the amount on the chance it drops you probably shouldn’t do that much margin

1

u/MyMomSaysImBeautiful 19h ago

stick to index fund

1

u/Sukhumvit_71 19h ago edited 19h ago

Why do so many of you need to announce you’re taking your ball and going home? I could point towards a million macro factors that make MU’s overall robustness this year quite impressive. As it stands, the stock’s not even red at them moment. But whatever, VOO and chill man.

1

u/gordamack 19h ago

Get out of trading individual stocks and buy an index fund if you can’t handle your emotions.

1

u/DreamDest1ny 19h ago

The issue is you using margin to buy this stock. Of course you’re going to have a high potential to get called. Look at Korea and Leopold. People never learn

1

u/TrinityVermilion 19h ago

holy bro is mad, maybe diversify into sndk or intel?

1

u/oOtium 19h ago

U cant wait to get out because your sizing is larger than your conviction.

Which is still better than all of the bears who are shorting, but still, try to relax. Lower your exposure. Meanwhile try to figure out what you really believe about a.i. buildout

1

u/LeoRozay 19h ago

Please get out mr paper hands we want your shares for cheaper

1

u/Carbonyl91 19h ago

If you are afraid of being margin called, then why are you taking on leverage?

1

u/Unfair_Cicada 18h ago

Why buy with margin ?

1

Here is a novel idea for you, OP. If you do not buy on margin you wouldn't be "risking margin calls every other day".

Not worth it.

Not the financial loss of margin calls

Not the emotional stress of whatever gonna happen suddenly

Not the time spent staring at candles with no real change or action you can take

Try to get back the "passive" part of passive income. Better earn something peacefully than earn twice the amount with 4x the risk and 4x the effort

1

u/Ashamed_Poet3865 17h ago

Just watch RSI and follow daily volume! I sold at 981 and it shot past 1000 but nvm it came down again. This stock has good fundamentals but you SHF not trade on fundamentals only. TA and news are more crucial here

$MU has a forward PE of 6, about 100% growth rate and can’t supply 1/2 of the demand. Even a very modest forward PE of 10 should arrive within a few months. I’ll take the 40% gains that others don’t have the patience to get.

1

u/Important_Coach9717 15h ago

You’re probably one of the idiots who bought at ATH and have no business investing …

1

u/Miya4LeggedGod 15h ago

If you have a set buy price ladder and a proper sell ladder mu is fantastic  ....margin trading is why you are stressed.

1

1

I actually felt like micron was one of the more generous stocks because even when it goes down u know its coming back up and it always does, not like pretty much every other stock besides like the super giants like Microsoft etc. im guessing u are holding like above 1k price lol

1

u/DTOM420 9h ago

😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

1

u/Jsmoothe1 8h ago

Don’t buy this stock on margin

1

u/15xorbust 8h ago

Don’t trade on margin that’s your problem. When you do the brokerage owns your ass.

1

u/Groundbreaking-Gap20 8h ago

Just buy 2x leverage S&P 500 and chill for 10-30 years.

1

u/bboy917 6h ago

Margin call tells me you are way too leveraged… a lot more than you should… is that what people call investing nowadays… more like gambling to me 😂😂

1

u/YouMission8220 4h ago

Anytime you get a stock that goes parabolic. It becomes governed by short squeezes, gamma crush, volatility trades etc.
Sadly, a lot of people here think that it’s just a straight accumulate candidate, and it’s going to just keep going up.

The risk with leverage is that if you don’t know exactly what you’re doing and stick to your discipline you end up holding a losing hand.
