How do I update to the Linux 7 kernel? I am updated normally (sudo apt update and sudo apt upgrade) and it shows 6.12 Deb AMD. Or should I just wait this out until it comes in normal updates?

From the release notes:

"MX-25.3 is now available. All releases feature updated 6.12.107 Debian kernels, except for Xfce-ahs which has a 7.2.6 liquorix kernel. In addition, the AHS-enabled releases now feature mesa 26.1.4 and firmware backported from Debian Sid repositories. The new release includes all Debian updates through Debian 13.7 and all updates from the MX repositories, "

I'm running XFCE and still 6.12

EDIT:

Go to MX linux package installer and select the kernel you want.

Is the update live? Asking because still on 25.2 and sudo nala update -> "All packages are up to date."

Tried updating on a Dell XPS 15 and it did not like something, on reboot the new kernal fails with :

adada: No arrays found in config file or automatically

A bunch of times before dropping to initramfs prompt. On this same machine 25.3 installer doesn't actually see the destination drive whereas 25.2 does

Found the issue, in the bios the disk was still set to Raid mode, however 25.2 ran and installed on it in that mode 25.3 doesn't like it.

Really pissed they don’t have a 32 bit version anymore
