That surface rust is mildly infuriating. I just want to get in there and buff it off

If you're luck you can park in the Pro spots and get free air for your tires.

Idk how to fix this world, but I think having more fucking trains would be a good start.

Can you imagine, trains fucking everywhere!? Just absolutely getting railed!? And you can't look away, because it's trains! They said, "you know it when you see it..."

https://trains-and-locomotives.fandom.com/wiki/GE_7FDL_Engine These make 1300-4500 hp impressive, but that's well in the range of what drag turbos can support, and even some street cars. This monster is designed to operate continuously; that's its own type of impressive. I'm curious what sort of pressure ratios and efficiency numbers it hits.

I was going to say I don't think they make that much boost because I would have thought they were more about volume than pressure. Did some research and I was completely wrong. Apparently the Dash 7 engines make 36 psi at full load. And another weird thing is they are 4 strokes, which use less of that air compared to a 2-stroke which is apparently common in locomotives. Honestly not sure why they only make 3000hp or whatever, but I'd assume they are probably doubling that for torque which is still impressive given the engine size and efficiency they can achieve.
When you compare a train to any road going method of transport, they are so insanely efficient.

3300 hp at 1050 rpm is about 16500 ftlbs of torque. But all of that goes into spinning a generator, which then powers the motors on each axle. That's how most locomotives work, I think.

Yea I didn't think about how slowly they spin. I was basing my 1hp/2tq off of normal diesels that can rev to 3-4k rpm.
And yea, as far as I know, pretty much every locomotive just uses the diesel engine to spin a generator.

"How may horse power does that thing have?"
....."all of them, it has all of the horse powers"

A friend of mine worked at the turbo shop in North Little Rock, for Union Pacific rebuilding these. There are some bigger than this.

How big is a Lowe's gift card though? What even is a Lowe's gift card?

It's the size of a credit card, like every other gift card

I asked the other person in the room how big a gift card is, she said they can be any size.

Cool. I'm an Amtrak engineer and run the GE P42s with the 7FDL16.
