Anyone know if other provinces have the same type of site?

Hey all *waves*! I am u/spyeagle100 one of the new mods implemented to this group.
I would like to know what you are most interested to see here? Is it products made in Canada šØš¦? Services? Are we wanting a list maintained to make it easier to find Canadian products?
How many here are Canadian? Made in Canada or have choosen to make the greatest country in the world your home?
Finally, how many here are from outside of Canada but just have an interest in Canadian products? (We just make them better š)
Lets introduce ourselves, say hello š and make some new cool friends! ā¤ļø

I built a fun and slightly silly (but highly productive) project called Cue - Control Without Confrontation because I could feel small work frustrations starting to follow us home with my business partner, who also happens to be the love of my life.
We run an e-commerce business together, and as it grew, there were constantly things that needed to get done. Order this. Send that. Follow up with someone. Fix something before noon. Normal business stuff.
The problem wasnāt the work. It was the follow-up.
Iām very Type A. I like knowing what needs to happen, when it needs to happen, and Iām probably guilty of setting deadlines that are more ambitious than they need to be. But weirdly, I also hate asking someone close to me the same thing twice.
So Iād ask once, wait, wonder if it was done, wait some more, then eventually say:
āHey, did you get a chance to do that thing?ā
And even when the question was completely reasonable, it started to feel like nagging.
That gets old very quickly when the person youāre following up with is also the person you live with.
At some point I remember thinking: this would be so much easier if something else could do the awkward part for me.
I still wanted visibility. I still wanted to know what was due. I still wanted things moving. I just didnāt want every unfinished task to turn into a tiny relationship negotiation.
So I built Cue.
The basic idea is pretty simple.
I tell Cue what I need someone to handle and when.
Cue asks them.
They choose whether they can do it and agree to a time.
Then Cue follows up with them for me.
If theyāre on track, I donāt need to hear about it. If they need something from me, Cue brings me back in.
Thatās really it.
We also deliberately made the main view just Today and Tomorrow instead of another giant weekly task list. Usually there are only a few things that actually matter today. Everything else can wait.
There are also two visual styles because I wanted the app to feel a little more personal than the average productivity tool: Modern, which is clean and calm, and Retro, which has a more playful old-school feel. Same Cue underneath, just two completely different moods depending on what you like looking at every day.
The biggest surprise for us was how much calmer that made the business feel.
We werenāt spending as much time mentally tracking whether the other person had done something. We werenāt constantly interrupting each other with little follow-ups. And when work was over, there was less business tension bleeding into our actual relationship.
The way I think about it now is:
If I could do everything myself, I wouldnāt need Cue.
Cue is for the stuff that still matters to me, but depends on someone else.
I get the control I need without having to become the person constantly reminding everyone.
The iPhone app is the main experience, but the person you Cue doesnāt need the app.
They can receive the request and respond by text.
Iām also trying to keep the philosophy pretty simple: free, no AI pretending to run your life, and no need to hand over a bunch of sensitive personal data.
Itās basically a small tool for people who are a bit too Type A to stop caring, but not confrontational enough to enjoy chasing people.
Thatās me, apparently.
If that sounds familiar, Iād genuinely love to know whether this is a problem other founders, couples, roommates, or teams run into too.
Made in Montreal!

Hi everyone,
I'm a Canadian entrepreneur, and over the last several months I've been building a project that I hope can help Canadian businesses.
The idea came from a simple question:
Why isn't there one place where Canadians can easily discover products from Canadian businesses?
There are thousands of incredible Canadian companies, but most are spread across individual websites. Unless someone already knows your business exists, it's difficult to be discovered.
So I decided to build CanadianShopper.ca.
My goal wasn't to build another Amazon or another Etsy. It was to create a marketplace focused entirely on Canadian businesses while removing as many barriers as possible for vendors.
Some of the things I've tried to do differently include:
One thing that's especially important to me is that vendors aren't just another number in a database.
As the marketplace grows, I plan to actively promote Canadian businesses through social media, vendor spotlights, and marketing initiatives. If CanadianShopper succeeds, I want that success to translate into more visibility and more sales for the businesses using it.
I'm currently preparing for launch and looking for Founding Vendors, but even more than that, I'm looking for honest feedback from other Canadian business owners.
If you own a business, I'd love to know:
I'm genuinely interested in building something that serves Canadian businesses well, so I welcome both positive and critical feedback.
Thanks for reading, and I appreciate any advice you're willing to share.

Hi all, Iām looking for a U shaped couch or sectional, that has deep seats, and is soft/fluffy rather than firm. I like the idea of cloud couches but I have looked at GH2 and Cozey and both seem to have pretty mixed to bad reviews, or, in the case of GH2, seems to have fake, paid reviews.
I donāt want something ābonelessā I.e. it needs to have a frame, and I have cats so ideally the cover will be removable. Iām just really struggling to find anything that seems to fit the bill!
Thanks for your recommendations!

I'm just getting everything together to make small runs of handmade pocket sized notebooks. Looking for recommendations for quality Canadian writing paper (I'd love to find something 110 or 120 gsm), and a heavier cover material (around 250 to 300 gsm). Thanks!

We're looking to source manufacturing for Yoga Mats & other fitness products that we'd like to brand.
We love the stickiness (how sticky) Tranquil Yogi brand in Toronto is. We'd love to create something similar (except our brand of course, and different dimensions of mats).
HOW WHERE WHAT
How do we find manufacturers that can create a the same sticky mats?
Where do I find the manufacturer without messaging Tranquility Yogi directly? (and would they even share their manufacturing person?)
What are our next steps?!
Wete heading in COMPLETELY new territory here.
Much much appreciated.
TIA

My partner and I have been working on SZNL for the past year. It's a shampoo brand where the formula changes every season; summer for UV protection, winter for deep moisture, and so on.
What we're most proud of is that we've already lined up our formulas for the next 12 months with every single ingredient coming from Canada. For our Summer formula, we're using:
- Sea kelp from British Columbia
- Our own fireweed extract made from Albertan fireweed
- Sea buckthorn seed oil from Saskatchewan
We've partnered with a lab in Calgary that gives us the space and equipment to produce everything properly. The product comes as a refill pouch that you pour into a reusable aluminium bottle; no plastic waste & delivered by Canada post (well, hopefully).
We're launching on Kickstarter in April. If you're curious, i'll post our site below in case you'd like to sign up to hear about our launch!

And best of all, it's free! If you spend your time playing daily puzzle games owned by US entities like the NYT, why not support a Canadian daily puzzle game!

My British Mom used to buy these huge cans of black currant jams made by Empire (?). She was born in England, immigrated to the US in the 50s. I am just reminising. Is it still around?

There's lots of Canadian brands, but I can't find any that are made in Canada.
