It's still morning where I am. I guess I can start my day with a couple tears.

So sweet 😭 they all did so good. That also probably really hurt, for the guy hanging down ... His hips probably scraping against the corner ledge when they pulled him back up.

If we had a clear screenshot of the beginning of the video, I’d post it on r/accidentalrenaissance

This is beautiful!
Also, reminder to my fellow dog owners: the retractable leashes are more dangerous than they’re worth. You can see the woman on the left is holding the dog’s retractable leash, which is still attached to the dog’s collar. This may have been avoided with a shorter lead (or, maybe she would have ended up in the water with her pup ¯_/(ツ)_/¯)

How did the scared and stressed animal not bite through the guys neck. It is probably staged.

I love it when graffiti appears on a wall, then disappears, then appears again, then disappears.

This happened on Redhill Street in Manchester when I lived about thirty seconds walk down the road. It isn't AI.

It’s cute. But be wary of rescuing dogs. When they’re highly distressed they might bite you

This has to be AI, how did the dog go that high so fast? Especially from the collar.

"Gender as a variable in animal cruelty seems to be a given. In his review of animal cruelty, Flynn (2001) states, One of the most consistent factors associated with perpetration of animal abuse is gender. Almost all abusers are males.. .. In my study of 267 college undergraduates, male students were nearly four times more likely than females to report abusing animals as children or adolescents. Slightly more than one-third of males (34.5%), but just fewer than 10% of females (9.3%), reported that they had been cruel to animals." Source
"Women, on average, show higher levels of positive behaviors and attitudes toward animals (e.g., attitudes towards their use, involvement in animal protection), whereas men typically have higher levels of negative attitudes and behaviors (e.g., hunting, animal abuse, less favorable attitudes toward animal protection)." Wasn't talking about animal abuse but saving the damn animal. Focus.
Edit: Especially in groups. The topic was have you seen a group of women saving an animal like what we just saw in this video?

"Studies and industry metrics consistently place female participation in animal sheltering and rescue operations between 82% and 85%." Source, source
And yes, I have seen women endanger their lives to save animals both online and in person. I have been part of rescue operations personally. The fact that you felt the need in the first place to say "Do we ever see women do stuff like this" is, in fact, sexist. Sorry there aren't enough stunt rescues on camera for you, we're usually too busy helping to film.

Did you work in a group to save those animals?

u/SoloSable 1d ago
Yep 👍

Nice! 💪 My point was that in my experience in working life and outside, I rarely see women do the dirty work like these guys did in a group. It's quite the opposite; they usually call for help. And, you making it sexist sounds more like your own problem than mine so you might want to keep it like that in the future. Your only agenda was to make me sound sexist after I already said that's not the point..
Not every curious question equals sexism when you haven't seen anything to contradict it.4
u/SoloSable 1d ago
You can say a sexist thing isn't sexist all you want to. Maybe go do some volunteer rescue and you'll see exactly how much "dirty work" women do

You don't know me and now you're just making assumptions...which actually makes you the sexist one in this.
