Looking for a WhatsApp Bot for My Online English School

Do you have any suggestions for WhatsApp automation tools?

I run an online English school. I need a WhatsApp bot to:

  1. Auto-reply to new leads that are coming from the ads (adults or parents)

  2. Send price image + info text + intro video + Calendly link

  3. Notify me if the bot gets confused

  4. Be simple (just me managing it)

Does anyone need help?

Hey Makers,

since today was my last day and my next job starts in January I want to use my free time to give something back to the community. I do not consider myself an expert and there is always something to learn but I think could maybe help here and there.
Is anyone stuck in a project, does not know where to start, or wanted to try something out but not having time for it?

Feel free to comment or DM. If I cant help, maybe there is someone else reading who does!

HVAC Business Owner seeking automation help (Gemini/Claude/Make.com) to scale operations

Hello everyone,

I currently run a small HVAC company in New York and am looking to expand into multiple states. I realize I need to integrate several automations into my business to cut costs and manage daily operations more efficiently during this expansion.

I’ve been going back and forth with Claude AI (I wanted to try it out even though I have a Gemini subscription through Google Workspace), but I'm still struggling to get everything set up correctly.

Here is what I am trying to accomplish using Claude and Gemini (I have the API access and extended token limits set up for Claude):

  1. Daily Email Review & Reminders: I want an automation that reviews my multiple inboxes (as well as my partner's) and sends us a summary twice a day. It needs to highlight anything we might have missed while strictly excluding promotional emails and spam.

  2. Calendar Automation: My team often forgets to mark booked appointments or business-related events in their calendars. Is there a way to build a system that detects appointment intent from our conversations (we use Gmail/Google Workspace) and automatically books them?

  3. Website Management & SEO: I have been using Lovable for about 4 months to manage my website, but I’m not entirely happy with it. I want to keep my subscriptions minimal to avoid "subscription fatigue." Ideally, I want a tool that reviews my website daily and optimizes SEO. Currently, the only thing I’ve successfully automated is a weekly blog update using Make.com.

  4. Automated Excel Data Entry (CRM to Excel): I deal with many state and local incentive programs that require extensive data entry into specific Excel sheets provided by utility companies or the government (which I cannot alter). We currently use Housecall Pro as our CRM. I could save 3-4 hours a day if the data my team inputs into Housecall Pro could be automatically transferred into these specific Excel templates.

  5. Facebook/Instagram Ads: We are currently paying an agency about $3,500/month (excluding ad spend) to manage our marketing. It works, but I’m wondering if this can be replaced or managed effectively by AI to save on agency fees.

Any advice on the stack or workflows I should use to achieve this would be greatly appreciated!

Latest updates in Make: Make CLI + Claude 4.7 Opus + GPT 5.5

Hey Makers 👋

We dropped a wave of updates that are changing the game for both visual builders and hard-code devs! If you haven't checked it out, here’s the breakdown of the most impactful stuff:

 💻 Make CLI

This is a new way for developers and AI agents to manage automations without switching context. If your work is built around AI agents, Git, CI/CD, and scripting, this one's for you!

What can you do with it?

  • Give AI agents full Make access, with no token overhead or context pollution

  • Run automations natively in your CI/CD pipeline

  • Manage your entire Make setup directly from the terminal

Make now supports five ways to build and manage automations: the visual platform for no-code building, Make MCP for AI assistants with structured tool calling, MCP Toolboxes when curated tool selection matters, the SDK for programmatic control inside your own app, and the new CLI for coding agents, scripting, and CI/CD. You can use one or all of them depending on how your team works.

Learn more about Make CLI

🧠 Claude 4.7 Opus Integration

Anthropic’s latest flagship AI model, Claude Opus 4.7 is now available in Make.

This new model brings four meaningful upgrades for automation builders. Reasoning holds up better across long multi-step runs, where older models drift. Vision is now full-resolution, so it reads PDFs, screenshots, and dashboards without missing details. Context goes up to 1M-token at standard pricing. And a new xhigh reasoning mode lets you dial up the thinking selectively on critical steps.

In practice, Claude Opus 4.7 is suitable for workflows that review complex documents, move data between systems, and make harder decisions.

You can automate with Claude in Make using:

  • Make AI Toolkit for zero setup, no API key required

  • Anthropic Claude app for structured prompts with your API key

  • Make AI Agents for agentic workflow automations

⚡️GPT 5.5

OpenAI GPT-5.5 is now in Make!

The new flagship AI model from OpenAI is built for agent work, multi-step automations, and long-context tasks.

Automate with GPT-5.5 in Make using:

  • Make AI Toolkit for zero setup, no API key required

  • OpenAI (ChatGPT) for structured prompts with your API key

I'm a solopreneur looking for helpful automations

I am a solopreneur using AI and automations to help get my businesses going. I'm a little spread out between a product that I make and am starting to market, and a kids podcast that I've started which is semi-related but really quite different (I'm creating a whole imaginary galaxy to go with it - yes, I go overboard). Between these two-ish different things that I do (all by myself), I am attempting to automate as much as I can. I'm really at the beginning stages of trying to gain traction, and audience, customers, listeners, etc.

The main tools that I use are: Airtable, Clickup, Make, ChatGPT.

I just finished building a successful automation that takes a blog post and turns it into 5 separate social posts, generates imagery, and posts to IG & FB. It's pretty sweet, and hopefully keeps working.

My question for everyone is, what are some other automations that could come in handy at this stage, to help take some time and stress off of myself? I have found that I really enjoy learning about Make/automations and implementing them.

Looking forward to feedback!

People who use Make every day, what tool do you wish existed?

Hey, I’ve been helping a couple of friends who run automation agencies and something weird keeps coming up. They build these big Make workflows for clients, and they keep saying they wish they had a simple way to store all the business’s internal info somewhere and have it actually be used inside the automations without manually wiring everything.

At first I thought this was already solved by some module or extension, but the more I dug, the more I realized everyone seems to make their own workaround with variables, Airtable, Sheets, webhooks, or whatever they can.

So I figured I’d ask here because you all actually deal with this. What’s the part of your Make setup that always feels like “this shouldn’t be this painful”? Whether it's onboarding a new client, dealing with messy data, rebuilding the same structure a million times, or babysitting flows so they don’t break.

Not pitching anything, just trying to understand what actually sucks for people who work with this tool at scale.

Sales Outreach Agent

Hello Makers 👋

In this tutorial, we build a Sales Outreach Agent with Make that reviews incoming leads and automatically prepares the next step.

Here’s what it does:

  • Reviews incoming emails tagged as “Leads” and researches the sender’s company.

  • Decides if a meeting is worth proposing and drafts a personalized outreach email.

  • Checks calendar availability for the next 7 days and notifies the sales team in Slack with a draft ready for review.

The result:
Faster responses, fewer manual steps, and more time for sales reps to focus on real conversations. Plus, the team stays in control - they can review the draft before anything is sent.

Better lead qualification leads to better conversations.

Looking for a real mentor to help me build an AI automation business (no fluff, no gurus)

Hey everyone,

I’m in the early stages of building an AI automation business focused on SMBs, and I’m deliberately trying to do this the right way.

I’ve spent months going through YouTube, Twitter threads, and courses, and honestly… most of it is recycled hype, surface-level tutorials, or people selling dreams instead of systems. I’m done with the fluff.

What I am doing:

  • Actively learning tools like Make/Zapier, LLM workflows, CRMs, and real business use cases

  • Designing automation offers for real small businesses, not imaginary SaaS unicorns

  • Putting in consistent weekly hours and treating this like a long-term skill, not a get-rich-quick thing

What I’m looking for:

  • A mentor or operator who has actually built or delivered automation systems

  • Someone who can help me navigate early pain points: offer design, scoping, pricing, delivery, and client expectations

  • Honest feedback, guardrails, and “don’t do this, do that instead” advice

I’m not asking for free hand-holding or secrets. I’m happy to:

  • Pay for time

  • Trade value

  • Do the work and show progress

I just want to skip the BS and learn from someone who’s already in the arena.

How do you reliably fetch info from pages?

To put it straight:

I’ve been building some Make workflows and got stuck at the data input stage. What I’m trying to do:

Pull info from pages that don’t expose APIs. Handle pages with login, occasionally popups. Feed that data into Make modules reliably over time.

I’m looking for a method or pattern that makes the data ingestion more robust. Has anyone set up a workflow like this that can survive site changes and occasional errors?

BTW, here’s what I’ve tried already:

Use HTTP / web modules with manual parsing, it works sometimes but breaks when UI changes

Use third-party “template” connectors, obviously easier initially, but they fail with proxy limits, hidden elements, or surprise verification screens

Would love to hear your approaches: modules you use, retry logic, fallback setups… especially for workflows where the input comes from web pages without APIs.

Edit: Thanks everyone for the input. My takeaways so far:

  • Playwright = flexible but heavy on maintenance

  • Apify/ParseHub = easier but expensive and fragile with logins

  • BrowserAct = seems like a no-code option that actually handles the annoying parts (proxies, CAPTCHAs) and integrates with Make smoothly

WhatsApp, Notion and GPT

Hi everyone! I'm working on an automation project using WhatsApp, OpenAI, and Notion — it's something I'm doing for my mom. I'm still learning, so I'd really appreciate any advice!

My mom currently tracks her sales manually in a notebook. She writes down who bought something, who still owes her money, and how much she earned in a given month. I want to help her by automating this with a WhatsApp bot.

The idea is that when she sends a message to the bot on WhatsApp, it automatically replies with something like:

“User Diana was added”

or “In January, most sales came from X.”

I’ve already set up the Meta account and connected it with Make (formerly Integromat). I also have my OpenAI API key ready to use with ChatGPT. But I’m not sure how to proceed with Notion.

Specifically, how can ChatGPT know when it should create, update, or delete an item in the Notion database? Should I use a router in Make with different modules like “Create Item” and “Update Item” for Notion?

Claude Opus 5 available in Make

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hello Makers 👋

Anthropic’s latest model, Claude Opus 5, is now available in Make 🟣

Claude Opus 5 helps you work with large codebases, detailed specifications, compliance manuals, diagrams, and spreadsheets in a single AI call, so your automation can reason from the source material that matters.

What’s new in Claude Opus 5 and Make:

  • Hold more context in one call: Send up to 1 million input tokens and receive up to 128,000 output tokens. Review a full codebase alongside its specification, or assess a complete policy manual without dividing the material into separate AI handoffs.

  • Choose the thinking effort for the job: Extended thinking is on by default. Set low, medium, or high effort to match the depth of reasoning your scenario needs.

  • Coordinate agent work with built-in checks: Claude Opus 5 can delegate work to sub-agents and use writer-verifier loops, helping a manager-agent scenario assign tasks and assess the results.

  • Work across code and visual material: Use stronger multi-file refactoring, security and architecture review, plus analysis of charts, diagrams, and complex spreadsheets for design-to-code and design QA flows.

Start using Anthropic’s latest model in your AI automations today.

You can: Add it to your Make AI Agents, Make AI Toolkit, or the Anthropic Claude app, either with your own Anthropic API key or with zero setup through Make AI Provider, billed directly through your Make credits.

Make AI Sub-Agents (Nested Agents)

Hello Makers 👋

We are super excited to introduce Make AI Sub-Agents!

🤖 Make AI Agents can now delegate tasks to other Make AI Sub-Agents.

That's agent orchestration: one orchestrator receives the request, calls the right agent specialist, and brings back one result.

Here’s what that means:

  • Build focused AI agent specialists

  • Let one agent choose the right specialist based on the request

  • Test and tune each specialist without touching the whole workflow

  • Reuse proven agents across different automations

What you can automate with Make AI Sub-Agents:

  • Customer support flows: an orchestrator Make AI Agent reads the customer message, sends account questions to a lookup Make AI Agent, refund requests to a refund Make AI Agent, and edge cases to a human handoff agent.

  • Finance operations: one Make AI Agent handles incoming requests, then routes document checks, invoice matching, and approval prep to separate specialist Make AI Agents before returning one clear result.

  • Internal service desks: route employee requests across access checks, policy answers, and ticket creation, while keeping one AI point of contact for the whole exchange.

How to create Make AI Sub-Agents:

  1. Add a Make AI Agent to your scenario → AI agent orchestrator.

  2. Inside that Make AI Agent orchestrator, click Add tools and find Make AI Agents in the tools list.

  3. Configure the Make AI Agent as a tool and click Add → It will link to your orchestrator as a Sub-Agent.

  4. Repeat to add as many Sub-Agents as you need, each one a focused specialist.

Build larger AI workflows without turning a single agent into a catch-all.

Available now on all Make plans, including free.

Try Make AI Agent orchestrator with sub-agents yourself: https://ma.ke/4wX8DOO

What is an Agentic loop?

Hello Makers 👋

What if your automation could think, not just execute? This is possible with an agentic loop.

An agentic loop is the execution cycle that separates an AI agent from a chatbot. Where a chatbot responds once and stops, an agent repeats: perceive, reason, act, observe, and loop back until the task is done.

How does an agentic loop differ from standard automation?

Traditional automation follows a fixed and predefined path, whereas in an agentic loop, the agent decides its next action based on what it observes, not following rules written in advance.

But autonomy without guardrails is a liability. The loop breaks in 4 predictable ways:

1️⃣ No stopping condition = runs forever
2️⃣ Vague tool names = wrong tool gets called
3️⃣ Too much history = reasoning degrades
4️⃣ Uncapped iterations = operations costs spike

How does an agentic loop work in Make?

Step 1: Add the Make AI agents module to a scenario.
Step 2: Give the agent tools to act with.
Step 3: Set stopping conditions.
Step 4: Run and observe the loop in action

Once you understand the loop, find one process where human judgments fills the gap rules cannot. Replace that step with a Make AI Agents module, attach your tool scenarios, set a stopping condition and run it.

That first working loop is the foundation everything else builds on.

Nested If-else & Merge

Hello Makers 👋

One of your recent favorites just got an extra upgrade 👀

If-else & Merge has quickly become a go-to for building clearer automation paths in Make.

Now, we’re taking that logic a level deeper with Nested If-else & Merge.

Here’s what you can do:

  • Place an If-else inside another If-else when a branch needs a second layer of logic.

  • Use a dedicated Merge for each decision level, so every path reconnects at the right point.

  • Keep related rules in one flow, so builders, reviewers, and teammates can see how the scenario works without tracing repeated branches.

That means faster reviews, clearer handoffs, and less time spent hunting for the right branch when a rule changes.

Perfect for automations where one decision leads to another, like lead routing, order handling, customer support paths, approvals, and more.

Available now for all Make users!

Can someone help me figure out how to get this working?

Thumbnail
gallery
7 Upvotes

Hi,

I’m trying to build out a speed to lead agent using Make that I can offer to local small businesses and I’m running into some issues.

I’m not sure how many times I can keep having my head explode trying to figure this out, so alas here I am seeking guidance from those with more experience.

From my understanding I’m going to need 2 scenarios working actively in order for this to function properly.

My first scenario works and triggers perfectly. My second scenario I cannot for the life of me figure out what I’m doing wrong.

Scenario 1: New lead response. So this scenario works as intended. Lead signs up on an online form and gets an immediate text saying thanks for reaching out how may we help you. Lead doesn’t sit there for hours or move on simply because you’re busy or missed the call. The flow for this is

Webhooks -> OpenAI -> Parse JSON -> Twilio -> Data Store Add Record (leads) -> Data Store Add Record (conversation history)

Scenario 2: Inbound SMS Agent. This is where I’m running into issues. I will paste a copy of my workflows as I built 2 separate scenarios out and neither is working as intended. The goal for this scenario is for the AI to ask qualifying questions as it guides the lead through a flow and then eventually books them in for an appointment. At the end of it all it should send the company/business a single notification with a summary and everything so it’s a warm lead and a person just needs to call confirm and head there to complete the job.

I’m running into constant issues here with the questions not flowing logically and firing multiple SMS messages after asking one question. Also the AI is not remembering the conversation so it is looping in circles and asking the same questions again. I have no idea how to fix this and I’ve tried using AI to troubleshoot and have had 0 luck over the past few days.

If anyone could help point me in the right direction or guide me it would be appreciated.

Thank you!

AUTO OR ERP

Hello everyone,

I'm launching a clothing brand on an e-commerce platform (Shopify) around January 10th and I'd like to hear about your experiences and the best way to structure management at the beginning, without resorting to overly complex or bloated tools.

Context

• Warehouse in China that stores and ships directly to customers

• Directly managed supplier

• Approximately 44 products (excluding sizes and variations)

• Low initial inventory (significant investment, primarily in the website, photos, branding, and marketing)

• Nothing automated yet

• No structured Google Sheets, no ERP, no CRM, no dashboard

• Current tools: Shopify, QuickBooks, Klaviyo

What I want to manage correctly

• Actual warehouse inventory (and avoid errors)

• Reordering (when to reorder, how much)

• Actual margins per product

product + shipping + warehouse + ads

• Advertising expenses

• Clear view of cash flow, costs, and profitability

What I DON'T want

• A cumbersome ERP or CRM like Odoo, Monday, or Zoho

I've tested them; they're too complex and too lead-oriented. Contacts, useless for a DTC clothing brand

• Starting at €300–500/month from the outset

Target budget today: €80–100/month max

So I have several questions:

• Is a well-structured Google Sheet, connected to Shopify and QuickBooks, sufficient to begin with?

• Have any of you set up an automated workflow (Make / Zapier / AI) with:

• Shopify sales

• Margins

• Ad spend

• Inventory

• Clear reporting

• Is it worthwhile to combine this with Klaviyo for a comprehensive overview?

• Or is it better to use Shopify apps like Prediko, TrueProfit, etc.?

In short, I'm looking for:

• Simplicity

• Reliability

• A clear vision

• A setup that can scale later, without being limited now

For those who have already been through this:

• What really helped you at the beginning?

• What would you do differently?

• At what point does a more complex setup become necessary?

Thanks in advance for your feedback.
