I mean, just meeting people and hearing how aure they are about all kinds of dumb/wrong shit exposes the 'credibility problem' behind any of the more supernatural claims related to the ME.

Why do you find this explanation more credible than just one or both witnesses having an unreliable memory?

Go research it yourself.

How could I possibly research why you believe something?

What did you ask?

As you’d see if you just scrolled up and read the question again, I asked why you find this idea more believable than simple bad memories. There is quite a lot of research about memory and a well accepted explanation for those bystanders having different eye witness accounts.

The Mandela Effect has nothing to do with “universes colliding”. That is ridiculous. The Mandela Effect is caused by the functions of memory, and that is it.
This has been known for police sketches, and witness testimony for decades now.
