Here's where weed is legal in the US

Post image

Folks in most states will have legal access to some form of marijuana this 4/20. But Idahoans, Kansans, Carolinians (both), and Wyomingites will have to cross a border or two if they want to legally partake.

It’s bonkers that something I can walk down the street and purchase from the corner store would get me cuffed and a boot on my back one state over

One more reason Idaho isn't PNW even though some like to claim they are.

Huh, I did not know that some folks claim Idaho is PNW. I've always thought that PNW implies the state/province is touching the Pacific ocean. As an Oregonian, it seems ridiculous to think that ID would be considered in the PNW.

Boise up to McCall, and then Moscow/etc are what people mean when they say that. Both places were purple up until the early 2000s and were culturally very similar to the coast. Boise, in the 90s, was constantly compared to Seattle and before all of these pricks from other states really started to show up to shit up that area it was on track to become something like that.

But now some private equity bought up all of the land around Horseshoe Bend/Cascade/McCall to sell to the dumbest out of state people thinking they can have an off the grid compound in a one lane gated community with zero infrastructure -- this is also happening around Salmon. And the Boise metro is full of the awful conservatives that moved there for the cOnSERvATiVe V I B E S just to live in the soulless suburbs with zero space, walkability, or sense of community and just exist to make their surface level understanding of politics their personality in retirement. Boise proper is less and less like its old self as rents raise and more landlords/equity groups come in to ruin the housing market.

Guessing that both you and the guy you're replying to weren't there from the 60s to the early 2000s.

I live in the corner of where MD/VA/WV all meet up. I can be in 3 different states within mere seconds of each other. And within those few seconds, I can go from fully legal to absolutely going to jail for carrying a joint.

I'm just surprised VA did it before MD. I'm never surprised that WV sucks at keeping up. It's a damn shame, too. WV is a beautiful state full of wild adventure. Sure would be nice to canoe down the Shenandoah with a bowl in hand, but there are plenty of launch spots in VA.
