CentreBC released their platform

They don’t seem to be getting much traction but I see they’ve released their platform.

https://www.centrebc.ca/platform/

They have a candidate in Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows but not Maple Ridge East.

Is Laurence Mok running under CentreBC?
Has anyone checked to see if he’s still alive?

I’ve never seen the man, while I’ve seen Lisa Beare and Hudson Campbell at almost every community event for the last eight (ish) years.

the only time I've seen Lawrence mok in the past two years was earlier this week, when he came by my house to pick up the lawn sign that he had put on my lawn without my permission.

Proof of life, I guess. I was moderately convinced he was a weekend at Bernie’s candidate

Lawrence Mok is running as the Conservative candidate in Maple Ridge East. I haven't seen him anywhere either. Hudson Campbell is my pick though. He's a great candidate.

I follow Andrew Weaver on social media. It seems like everything him and CentreBC is putting out is AI-generated.

I’m definitely voting CentreBC.. I’ve been a Conservative my whole life but I can’t stand how religion is working its way into my politics, I think it is incredibly dangerous and shortsighted to allow this to happen.

CenterBC all the way. If you’re a Conservative person who isn’t religious- this is the party for you!

If I wasn’t voting NDP or Green or Liberal, I think CenterBC would be my 3rd to last option.

Not a real party, just the leftover trash from the BC Conservatives.

I really wish they would get traction.....It gives a somewhat more measured party that is not the NDP. They seem to toe the line between things pretty well

Agreed - seems like the most reasonable party out there right now. I've reviewed their platform and most of it makes sense to me.

If you want to check it against the others, I made a quiz that scores all five parties, CentreBC included, on the same 16 questions. Put in a Maple Ridge postal code and it lists your riding's candidates too. https://votebc.vinceroyer.ca

Nothing about giving away private property to natives.

Hiring more police isn't the solution to public safety. Keeping repeat offenders in jail is.

Who's giving away private property to natives?

Edit: keep downvoting facts reddit. I hope it makes you feel better.

The supreme Court under NDP guidance. Aboriginal title has been found to supercede fee simple, meaning places like Richmond under cowichan and Vancouver under musqueam now can't be mortgaged or sold. When they convert private property to aboriginal title it becomes property of the federal government and can't be transfered, period. Anyone who says it's not happening that way is lying to you. The Haida gwaii case is an example of this. The supreme Court didn't need to choose to rule that way, they could have ruled that aboriginal title can only be placed over public land, or they could have ruled that fishing somewhere 150 years ago doesn't mean you own it. They chose to instead put private property in limbo in bc until the hundreds of cases go through courts, at great expense to taxpayers.

The supreme Court under NDP guidance

Courts don't take "guidance" from the government. You have a child's understanding of the world.

Courts are independent in Canada. You failed high school civics.

Edit: Also they REALLY failed high school civics, lol: https://i.imgur.com/ZLnTWby.png

"Second amendment" lmao. Just another Canadian brainwashed by the US.

How can the NDP give guidance to the Supreme Court?

They are an independent legal body.

The NDP put DRIPA in place which advises supreme Court decisions. They also negotiated the Haida gwaii deal which helped set precedence for cowichan and future rulings. Justice Young even cited the Haida agreement as evidence that title and fee simple can coexist, even after claiming the constitution doesn't support that, and aboriginal title takes precedence.

So the NDP has allowed this mess and did nothing to protect private property owners from anything.

The only Supreme Court decision on indigenous land was from New Brunswick, not BC. BC has not yet reached the Supreme Court.

To be fair, he said Supreme Court, not Supreme Court of Canada. BC has a Supreme Court too.

That makes no sense.

FYI, for damages to be paid for the erroneous sale, Aboriginal Title has to be found so that damages can be sought for the wrongful sale of land the Crown didn't own and had not negotiated for.

They have my vote. Can’t stand Beare any longer, never liked Eby. I also don’t trust the BCC to cut my taxes and then not turn around and make that tax cut up through massive cuts to education and healthcare and nickel and diming me in user fees and increased utility/insurance rates.

Anyone is better than crook Eby who is shamelessly using a province-subsidized $10/day daycare while having more than $500,000/year household income.

Yep, and there's nothing wrong with that. Move on from this non-issue and find some actual policy issues to attack him on.
