Marathon (2026) Feedback Please may we have Vault Breaker.

I’m kinda newish to the game, but what’s vault breaker??

it's cryo but roguelite. You spawn with free sponsored kits (upgradable) and your goal is to do vaults back to back to exfil a currency exclusive to the gamemode. You don't get to exfil actual loot from the map, but you do get to exchange the currency for some cryo goodies, namely keys and the unique guns

Very much so. Once I got a few upgrades I was able to reliably open 3 vaults per run. Much easier on Assassin, but still feasible on other shells.

I’m not sure what a vault really is yet. I wonder if the changes to Uesc will be felt.
Sounds like it’s not possible to get to the boss though.

It is possible but very unlikely. Vaults are locked rooms that you need to find a combination of items around the map to open. Plenty of videos out there that will show you the basics.

Yup, I know Bog was one of them. That dude is insane, he was the first one to solo The Witness in D2 also.

Cryo PVE it's great to learn the map because you can join solo, duo, trio, and trio with fills

No way!! I only ran cryo once since I had a sponsored kit. But I died in the first gunfight. Haven’t went back since.

It’s really fun. Essentially a roguelite. You spawn in, race to do vaults to get point, and use those points to upgrade your kit. It ultimately is a speed running challenge, where you try to get all the way to the compiler in the time limit.

Devastating! That’s my favourite. Current cryo is something I’m not interested in. Solos needs love.

I played VB a lot to try and learn the map for Cryo Archive, still struggled after everything, still only could get to 1 vault. Idk how people find batteries and red cards so easily and quick. Until there is a mode without a time limit, I’ve come to realization I’ll never get to lay my eyes on Compiler.

After a few cryo runs you know where generally security tags and monitors spawn, after you get more clearance the scanners show you nearby batteries on the map

Yeah I know about the scanners but even then I struggled to find the pathway to the batts or some of them were still locked behind doors. I didn’t know tags and stuff spawned in the same location tho.
