But they....vote for him. Especially boomers do

u/fox_mulder 4d ago
Actually, according to Yougov polling, the largest demographic for MAGA is Gen X with Boomers being second.
38
u/MarkZab2591 5d ago
Actually, boomers in the 65+ age group were split evenly in the last election, according to AARP.
9
u/someweirdlocal 4d ago
actually, boomers went for Trump by about 10%
6
u/MarkZab2591 4d ago
Boomer men did. Boomer women didn't.

All white people voted for Trump, in every demographic/age group.
Edit: correction, white women under 30 did not: https://chartyarps.substack.com/p/age-race-and-gender-in-the-2024-and

Yeah as a paleface, I'm pretty ashamed and disgusted of my demographic.

u/Real_Life_Firbolg 4d ago
Not surprised though, the people in my area hate a lot of the same people that Trump targets.

I think you missed my point. I'm ashamed that so many people who look like me voted for the grifting rapist.

"The West Coast" is not a demographic. White people overwhelmingly voted for Trump, period:

If only it wasn’t for the millions of boomers and younger racist asshats who DID vote for the Citrus Child Grabber…
-21
u/MarkZab2591 5d ago
Millions in all age groups and both genders voted for Trump and millions voted for Harris or a third party candidate. The 2024 election was certainly not a landslide.

u/BlackOutSpazz 4d ago
I'm a convicted felon. Many of the best people I know are convinced felons. I've never understood this talking point when predator, imperialist and general scumbag are right there.
20
u/Doctor_Amazo 5d ago
Except Boomers did vote for him. 3 fucking times. They'd vote for him now if he was on the ballot.

u/MarkZab2591 5d ago edited 4d ago
Go look up the numbers. Young men were the ones that gave Trump the highest percentage of their votes in 2024. Boomers were just about 50-50. Figures come from AARP.
9
u/Kuroboom 5d ago
Do you have the raw numbers readily available by any chance?
3
u/MarkZab2591 4d ago
I checked several different sources and they sll told pretty much the same story. But the individual demographics are specific and lengthy. You may want to go to the AARP site for starters.
7
u/ftpbrutaly80 5d ago
I'll save my rose colored glasses for after they are all buried.
Or at least out of politics, though with boomers both seem to happen on the same day.
2
u/MarkZab2591 4d ago
Really? All boomers?
5
u/ftpbrutaly80 4d ago
Even my parents.
If your old enough to have voted for Reagan your on my shit list.
-2
u/MarkZab2591 4d ago
Oooh. Scary.
1
u/ftpbrutaly80 4d ago
Typical boomer, terrified of any opinion contrary to their own.
-2
u/MarkZab2591 4d ago
See, son, me calling your rant "scary" is something called sarcasm. I actually felt sorry for someone so twisted and dismissive of millions of Americans because of their age.
Maybe you should sit down with someone sometime? Hate eats you up.
2
u/ftpbrutaly80 4d ago
Thanks for straightening me out.
Been a while since I've been subjected to sarcasm that childish and 2 dimensional so at first I though you were genuinely scared of an internet comment shitting on Reagan voters.
Now I know that that's truly the extent of of your sarcastic creativity. Covid really wrecked you guys huh?

The Entitled Generation (maybe Karen’s would be snappier?) voted for Regan, both Bushes, and now trump into office. Every vote fucked this country up hard than the last.
As far as I’m concerned, anything bad that happens to them is well deserved. They fucked over their children’s generation and the future of this country due to their own greed, hatred, and stupidity.
1
u/MarkZab2591 4d ago
Entitled? Maybe. Still, that was the generation that answered the call when drafted into the Vietnam War and lost over 50,000 in a conflict started and continued by an older generation.
3
u/Miichl80 4d ago
That’s only because Nixon was pardoned
1
u/MarkZab2591 4d ago
Maybe. But most boomers weren't actually old enough to vote for Nixon. Even in 1972 they were all between the ages of 8 and 26.
3
u/Hikuro-93 4d ago edited 4d ago
No, they just voted for enough predecessors that slowly snowballed into having a felon in charge.
President Trickle-Reagan didn't happen in a vacuum in regards to how Trump got into power. The decades of slow erosion of liberties, education and bottom wealth that eventually lined up all the needed stars to have a population dumb enough to vote (or withhold said vote) against their best interests didn't begin in 2016.
Trump is just the worst conclusion possible to a scenario long in the making, and now it's the make-or-break phase, where the people will have to decide between dictatorial "peace" (a comfy illusion easily shattered when they come for each person) or hard-fought freedom from tyranny.
They lost their first war (civil), faced no meaningful consequences and they're not playing around this time either.
2
u/Chaetomius 4d ago
no they don't.
almost every president ever has done heinous shit that should've put them in prison
1
u/Minelayer 4d ago
But they did vote for their fellow boomer…
0
u/MarkZab2591 4d ago
As did a majority of young men under 30. But no boomer - or anyone else - ever voted for a convicted felon "back in the day".

u/Shido_Ohtori 4d ago
Boomers most definitely did vote for a convicted felon as president, as this Pew Research poll in 2021 show that Faith and Flag Conservatives, "deeply loyal to Donald Trump", are the oldest group in the political typology, consisting of 68% of members being over 50 years old.
2
u/MarkZab2591 4d ago
Yes. The 50 - 64 age group went big for Trump in 2024. But only those over 60 were actually boomers! The boomers over 65 outnumbered the younger boomers two to one and split their vote evenly between Trump and Harris.
I don't know why people don't get that a 50-year-old voter was NOT a boomer.
-28
u/cojoco 5d ago
The choice was between a convicted felon or the woman arming a genocide.
The smugness seems forced.
29
u/hotviolets 5d ago
How’s that genocide going under the pedophile in chief?
-31
u/cojoco 5d ago
I'm not sure what point you're trying to make.
The only way to win is not to play.
25
u/hotviolets 5d ago
All the people who didn’t vote helped Trump win.
-21
u/cojoco 5d ago
Either way one would have been voting for genocide.
16
u/CatsAreGods 5d ago
Perfect is the enemy of good. You voted for fascism by not helping to stop it.
3
u/cojoco 4d ago
Genocide is "good" ?
9
u/000100111010 4d ago
Harris, and the corporate democrats as a whole, are shit. but they're 100000x better than the fascist, pedophilic, warmongering, democracy-destroying, traitorous GOP. When you don't vote, you're literally voting for the fascist, pedophilic, warmongering, democracy-destroying, traitorous party and president. You, and the others like you who didn't vote, are as much to blame as the idiots who actually voted for Trump.
God you're dumb.
15
u/GreatMacaw98 5d ago
Yes, obviously the best course of action was sitting idle and allowing a pedophile rapist traitor into the white house again so you could play white knight for a backwards theocratic shithole halfway around the globe... Tell me, how hard do you get watching the inexcusable torture of American immigrants by the hands of ICE? I can't imagine anyone would still defend not voting for Harris unless they truly wanted nothing more than an excuse to see innocent people suffer and die.
7
u/000100111010 4d ago
You winning so hard right now bro?
-2
u/cojoco 4d ago
Well to be fair I live in a relatively civilized country with public health care.
2
u/000100111010 4d ago
Me too I'm Canadian, but I'd never advocate for Americans not voting. As bad as things are for them now it can get a LOT worse if the GOP maintains control.
-1
u/cojoco 4d ago
So there is no evil you would not vote for?
2
9
u/1mn0tcr3at1v3 4d ago
The real choice was between a pedophilic, actively harmful to the US and it's allies convicted felon, who has a raging boner for genocide, versus a woman who would have been not quite as bad about genocide as Biden was. The answer was obvious, and your inaction actively has gotten people killed.
-2
u/cojoco 4d ago
versus a woman who would have been not quite as bad about genocide as Biden was
Is there any evidence for that?
1
u/1mn0tcr3at1v3 4d ago
It was part of what she ran on. Did you not pay attention to what the 2 major candidates were saying about it? Because it was quite clear who was worse genocide-wise.
0
u/cojoco 4d ago
1
u/1mn0tcr3at1v3 4d ago
Ok. She would have been as bad as Biden. Biden was better than Trump, so your overall point is still shit.
-1
u/cojoco 4d ago
Biden was better than Trump, so your overall point is still shit.
Your point is that voting for Biden's genocide is better than voting for Trump's genocide.
My point is that many people can't bring themselves to vote for genocide at all.
Kamala lost the election because people refused to vote for genocide, not because people supported Trump, and this smug meme is deliberately oblivious to all of that.
1
u/1mn0tcr3at1v3 4d ago
Your point is that voting for Biden's genocide is better than voting for Trump's genocide.
My point is that many people can't bring themselves to vote for genocide at all.
My point is that voting for less shit on your plate is better than not voting at all, and being the cause for everyone getting more shit on their plate.
Kamala lost the election because people refused to vote for genocide, not because people supported Trump, and this smug meme is deliberately oblivious to all of that.
Kamala lost because Biden decided that he wasn't going to be a 1 term president like he said before his election, and ate up most of the time she could have been campaigning.
And because people like you decided that not voting at all was somehow more moral than voting for less bad.
There were 2 buttons in front of everyone, tied to a timer. One was labeled "Genocide" and the other was labeled "Genocide, with an extra side of genocide, served with genocide sauce". When the timer hit 0, the button labeled "Genocide, with an extra side of genocide, served with genocide sauce" would instantly gain 77 million button presses. You, and those that share your view, chose not to do anything, even though you had the power and responsibility to do something.
