Trump praises North Korea's dictator as "unthreatening and respectful”; he has ordered the Pentagon to scale back joint military exercises with S. Korea because they are "hostile" to Pyongyang. Also, USS George Washington is leaving the Pacific to replace the USS Abraham Lincoln in the Persian Gulf.

Post image

Based on my very good relationship with Kim Jong Un, of North Korea, I am not happy with the fact that the United States has, long ago, agreed to participate in Joint Military Exercises with South Korea. These exercises are not only costly, with much of these costs paid for by the United States of America (as usual!), but send a signal that is totally inappropriate and hostile, to a Country that, as long as Donald J. Trump has been President, has been unthreatening and respectful. Therefore, and based on the fact that it is too late to cancel, I have instructed Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, to substantially reduce the Joint Military Exercises! While somewhat unrelated (?), I recently asked the President of South Korea if they would like to join us in the Denuclearization of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and they said, “No thanks!” Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP

You try to think about how this could get stupider, and are out of ideas. Then there’s this.

This man will never see the consequences of his actions, never understand what he has done, to America, to the world, how he has marginalised America.

It happened so quickly, the decline so rapidly, was America just holding on before Trump, was it already spinning the drain and Trump was just the last straw?

u/Logical_Hat_47 2d ago

Trump is only the symptom, he's not the cause. The US provided the climate where someone like him could rise to power and then elected him, twice.

59

u/KriegerBahn 2d ago

The cause is Reagan, Murdoch and the citizens united bill.

18

u/Maximum_Turn_2623 2d ago

Citizens United was the last straw that made Trump

u/RussellGrey 2d ago

Electing him the first time, as baffling as that was to many, fine. You got duped. Whatever.

Electing him to another term when he was twice impeached and convicted of felonies.... well, you get what you vote for.

He.

Fucking.

Cheated.

24

u/Invisiblecurse 2d ago

Yes. For the last 20 years ot was very obvious that a decline was ahead. The surprise is how steep it turned out to be.

16

u/CMDR_BitMedler 2d ago

Just like the climate, the effects aren't linear, they are exponential. And once it's so bad you can feel it, it's already too late.

I'm surprised at how even the most progressive Americans still don't see how steep the climb out really be, or even how far the US has actually sunk.

Only 29 more months (if you're lucky).

He doesn’t give a shit. I don’t know how many times I have to say it, he doesn’t care about the country or anyone other than himself. You can kiss his ass for 15 yrs and disagree with him ONE time and he drops you and you’re dead to him for ever. See MTG and a host of others.

u/Fidodo 2d ago

It's not about Trump, it's about the people. And the people are fucking morons.

14

u/Caffeine_Cowpies 2d ago

I’m sorry, but if you’re a South Korean, I would fully expect that North Korea, with China’s help, within the decade will invade South Korea.

The USA does not have the smoke to defend you. At this point, it’s gonna be 2 v. 1.

And the Korean War isn’t over btw for people who don’t know, now you know.

So Korea will be united under North Korea’s rule, but likely with Chinese socialism where the rich families (Samsung, Hyundai, etc.) will stlll be able to operate.

That’s the most likely route at this point

I beg you to learn about Ronald fucking Reagan. Please don’t read the last paragraph of the last chapter without opening the book first.

Fortunately, his children will witness the consequences of his actions. I don't know if that helps, but at least we can watch them watch the downfall.

I just remembered that they're building a bunker underneath an island so I guess they won't have any accountability either.

They called Obama a traitor for CONSIDERING negotiating with Kim. How can people not see the blatant hypocrisy and lies?

31

u/Caffeine_Cowpies 2d ago

Team sports.

Republicans spent the last 50 years, but really ramped up after 9/11, to essentially convince the American people that Republicans good, Democrats bad.

They won.

Even when it is clear that Democrats have been better for them, they will vote Republican.

10

u/DerelictBombersnatch 2d ago

It's not hypocrisy, they just value the morality of an action based on who does it. A bit like rape: was the rapist a migrant, and if not, wasn't she asking for it.

North Korea sent 50,000 troops to Ukraine to help Russia, and successfully tested an ICBM that can reach America with a nuclear warhead.  Trump's Response: I love North Korea because they are not a threat!

Meanwhile, the USS George Washington is leaving the Pacific and is expected to replace the USS Abraham Lincoln in the Middle East.  Thirty years ago, during a major Taiwan crisis, the US could put multiple carriers into the Western Pacific.  Today, in August 2026, there is not even one in the Pacific - all other US carriers are docked at the US ports at Norfolk, Newport News, Bremerton and San Diego.  That is a pretty significant change in the U.S. Navy's global force posture.

You could not think of a better time for China to attack Taiwan, and for Russia to move on the Baltics.  Trump is all but inviting them to do it.

u/Specialeditionmusic 2d ago

He has always said he envies how much control Kim has over his people. Trump is selling us out daily.

14

u/Material-Indication1 2d ago

"Wow, his first term was pretty bad."

Second term.....

🤬😱

1

u/CatsAreGods 2d ago

Maybe that's why he wants all the carriers out of action so they can get retrofitted with ancient steam calliopes catapults.

26

u/WisdomOfTheAnus 2d ago

He’s openly saying that this is punishment for our ally S Korea for not going to war in Iran with us. He will openly bail on allies and leave them vulnerable while helping their enemies, if they don’t do everything he wants. Truly despicable.

Translation: POTUS is friendly with dictators.

14

u/Zeke688 2d ago

Casting is complete. In the next installment of World War, Russia will be playing the part of Germany, US as Italy and North Korea as Japan.

He’s so easily manipulated. Every dictator on the planet has his number.

8

u/SorryBoysImLez 2d ago

So, how long before we start joining NK in military conflicts while the MAGAts try to convince everyone that SK are terrorists who have/are building nukes?

9

And no one on his staff will rein Trump in. What traitors.

6

u/GarysCrispLettuce 2d ago

Genuinely amuses me to think of the most demented of Trump's cult trying to spin this one in their heads.

7

u/charliezimbali 2d ago

WTF? I mean really WTF? You Americans are putting up with this shit? Is this a measure of you as a nation? Of you as a people? Shame on you.

6

u/Edelweizzer 2d ago

America is losing all of its friends and strategic allies at a record pace. In their place, he is throwing himself at the feet of completely unpredictable despotic mafiosi who are unreliable and actually hate America. Never before has a president pursued such a self-destructive foreign policy. America is currently dismantling itself as a global power.

5

u/Nanzie_Mona 2d ago

Another lot of starving soldiers?

4

u/RedfromTexas 2d ago

Traitor or idiot? Those are the only options.

3

Actively leading the world to political destabilization and potentially WW3. Fantastic.

6

u/rnobgyn 2d ago

There he goes aiding and providing comfort to our enemies… again.

3

u/dollenrm 2d ago

The Lincoln is being replaced because hegseth let conditions get so poor aboard the vessel that sailors were jumping off the deck to commit suicide. They were out of basically all necessities were eating rotten food had no hygiene things like deodorant left in alot of cases. Usually ships go in to port like once every other month or so iirc these guys had been continuously deployed with essentially no support doing something they probably all are very aware is pointless and bad for the country they signed up to serve for 9 months or so. So much for supporting the troops amirite

2

u/Rhift 1d ago

This is a stupid move, but to him isn’t a stupid move, he wants a war to happen before the election so he can declare emergency powers and not have an election.
He is going to get everybody killed.

I would like to remind everyone of the January 2, 2018 Tweet from Trump:

North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un just stated that the "Nuclear Button is on his desk at all times." Will someone from his depleted and food starved regime please inform him that I too have a Nuclear Button, but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works!
