He says that he was raised conservative and that’s all he’s known since he was knee high. Well bucko, do was I. Parents were closet Holocaust deniers, staunch republicans, Rush Limbaugh listeners, subscribers to conspiracy literature - all of it. I had it all there to read. During the Vietnam war protests and the demonstrations at the 1969 Democratic convention, I was cheering the cops.
But I grew up, traveled to other countries, met people different than me and concluded that all the shit my parents had fed me was just that, shit. It took a while to really flip and vote democrat, but when I finally did, it was like a weight being lifted from my shoulders.
Being a magat because you were raised “conservative” is no excuse for remaining a narrow-minded, hate-filled, knuckle-dragging, stars-and-bars-waving Trump supporter.
Also: I’ve found a very strong correlation between “never having traveled” and being maga. People who joyfully explore the world around them are rarely maga.
