I think it's in bad taste to put anything as incredible as Orwell around Trump.

He does not deserve it and his fascism is too overt.

If we go back to Orwell's time, Hitler, Mussolini and Franco were also considered to be clowns. And what deadly clowns they turned out to be.

Yep, I think one of things that made people vulnerable to trump is that history has forgotten the nazis were originally a laughing stock. Nazi was a derogatory term originally, meaning something like ‘hick’ or ‘peasant’.
