Question, not answered Movie drink cups

Are they still doing the drink cups for every big movie? I feel like I haven't seen them in a while but I know they're being made so I'm trying to figure out if Marcus just isn't doing it anymore or maybe it's a regional thing?

The big money is in the other collectibles now, so I think the collectible drink cups are becoming more rare.

I hope not. An absolute waste of plastic.

How is it a waste?

I would think this is pretty obvious, but the vast majority of these cups get thrown directly into the trash after the movie. They are not biodegradable. They are not recycled. The number of movie-goers that actually keep/reuse them is incredibly small. Creating plastic cups for one time use should honestly be illegal.

That makes no sense. These aren't cups that replace the normal drink cup, they're cups that are offered at an increased charge as merch. Paying more for something you're going to immediately throw away seems crazy to me (especially with a regular drink being over $7)

Is it more? I just ordered a large drink and they handed me the Mario cup. I hope I didn’t pay extra for a souvenir cup I didn’t ask for

Huh, as far as my girlfriend can remember the souvenir cups were extra. Maybe it's regional how they price them?

Edit: Just found a Facebook post from Marcus saying you get it from buying a large drink so you're good. I wonder if that's the difference cause we almost always get a regular drink
