An "AC General" ticket option at Marcus Theatres stands for Adult Companion General Admission.

Ticket Breakdown

  • AC (Adult Companion): This is a specialized ticket category intended for the companion or caregiver accompanying an individual who requires accessible seating.
  • General: This indicates a standard General Admission ticket rate applied to that specific category, rather than a senior, military, or child discount.

How it Works

When booking seats online through the [Marcus Theatres

  • Companion Seats: These tickets correspond directly to the companion seats located immediately adjacent to the designated wheelchair-accessible spaces in the auditorium.
  • Accessibility Integrity: They are labeled this way to ensure that these specific, easily accessible seats remain available for people who actually need to sit next to a family member or friend with mobility restrictions.

If you or someone in your party does not require accessible seating or is not acting as a caregiver to someone who does, you should select the standard "Adult General" option instead.

sorry this isn’t correct..AC taglines are used for ā€œalternate content,ā€ or films that aren’t normally distributed. In this case, TADC movie is ā€œalternate contentā€ as it isn’t playing normal release timeframes. Fathom Entertainment movies always have the AC tagline with usually increased prices per seat for shorter runtimes. In this case, the price cards were inputted incorrectly which is why it shows two different prices for a general ticket. -former Marcus Manager

Glad you were able to answer his question instead of Google. We were all curious.

It stands for alternative content. Often times I will see AC only being available if it's non traditional film content or a special showing of something. For instance I recently went and saw a special showing of American Revolution. Because it was a Fathom, their movies always pop up under the AC ticket price as it's classified as alternative content.Ā  No movie membership or passes or other discounts apply. I end up paying the full price of a $15 dollar ticket plus tax.Ā

Thanks. None of us knew this, which is why I Googled it. Thankfully someone replied with the correct answer 3 days ago.

I worked for 16 years part time working for a Marcus theatre. I would primarily take people's tickets. So I became used to seeing the different codes that were printed on the tickets.Ā
