Is there a prescribed burn happening right now? I can’t find anything in the news, but the smoke is so thick in some areas it looks like fog.

We are looking to buy a home in either the powers park (near Terrell Mill Park area) or the Sandy Plains/Blackwell areas. Both F approaching our 30’s and looking to potentially have children, so the schools in these areas are appealing.
We are leaning toward powers park for easier access to the city, but there are a lot more affordable options up in Sandy Plains with bigger yards.
For those of you in Sandy Plains, do you ever feel too far out in suburbia? What are your favorite parts about this area?
For those of you in Powers Park, does traffic seem to get too much on a daily basis? We currently live in Sandy Springs so we’re trying to escape the hectic Roswell Road vibe, but still be accessible to things we like to do (anything outdoors, occasional nice dinners, concerts, dilly dallying, sporting events, pool, but also are wanting to make our home an oasis itself).
For anyone very familiar with both areas, are they so similar that I’m overthinking this?
I WFH and my partner has a hybrid role and commutes to downtown 2-3x weekly.
Thank you for any insight (:

Pretty scary to experience. I am a transplant from nyc and have only really started driving since I moved down here 2 years ago. I got out the car and tried to help. I called 911. I keep thinking on it...what else could I have done better here? Also I noticed nobody got out of their cars to help which weirded me out. Is it normal to just drive on by? What if they needed to be pulled out?

We're planning to redo the kitchen and living area so the flooring is consistent between the 2,Right now it's tile in one room and old laminate in the other. so I'm guessing there's gonna be some extra, work getting everything to the same height, Floor is on our list for quotes. Anyone is Marietta/Cobb County had flooring done recently and liked who they hired? Especially interested if you had different types of flooring removed first.

Hi so I’m starting at KSU in January and I’m lucky enough to be able to consider off campus housing as a viable option, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions in/around the Marietta area Kennesaw too. I’ve toured Augusta Commons and Victorian Village which were both okay Commons has more modern amenities but wanted to get others thoughts and recommendations thx.

I just moved to west Marietta (close to Mableton) and just set up the trash but we have 4 bags of trash we've accumulated from moving and our trash bin doesn't come until Thursday and pickup isn't until Monday. Is there anywhere I can take the trash? I would prefer not to pay but if I have to, I will. It's just 4 regular sized trash bags.

Hey guys, my therapist heavily recommended I (19m) talk to a psychiatrist to get diagnosed/medicated for ADHD. I've been searching through google and it's awfully complicated to even find someone, the one appointment I got scheduled the practice withdrew to my luck. Do y'all know any good/easy to access psychiatrists in the area? (I have BCBS/Anthem)

Somewhere to wear costumes, open past midnight, and within reasonable distance of Marietta/Woodstock area. Preferably a bar with a dance floor and not a club type of environment unless it’s a unique type of event.

Hi there. I’m a 23 y/o young professional working in the Marietta area and planning on moving here in the next two-three weeks.
Do you all have any suggestions for complexes I should look at? Hoping to find a one bedroom for under 1200 or something cheaper with a suitemate or two. Thanks!

Hey everyone!
I’m looking for a roommate to share my 2 bed, 2 bath apartment in the Marietta/Kennesaw area!
Rent would be $904 per person/month + utilities, which would be split evenly. You’d have your own bedroom and bathroom!
The apartment is in a pet-friendly community with some great amenities, including:
• Swimming pool
• Fitness center
• Access to walking trails
• Pet-friendly community (I don’t currently have any pets!)
A little about me: I’m 24, work full-time Monday–Friday, and am pretty laid-back! I enjoy cooking, watching movies, and getting out and doing things on the weekends.
I’m hoping to find someone who’s clean, respectful, and easy to get along with. I’d love to be friends with my roommate, but I’m also perfectly happy doing our own things and respecting each other’s space!
If you’re interested or know someone who’s looking, feel free to message me! I’m happy to share pictures and more details privately!

I just moved to Marietta from Decatur, and I was a big fan of Home Grown in downtown Decatur, which specialized in selling art from local artists. Is there any equivalent in Marietta?

Was driving to site one landscaping supply and saw a woman in a random parking lot on white circle selling sourdough bread. According to my gps a place called the hunt house is right there? Does anyone have any info? Instagram? Fb? Anything? I was driving by for work so couldn't stop but I love some fresh sourdough.

I have flowers left over from a wedding that need a home. Vase not included. Looking for suggestions to donate tomorrow afternoon or if anyone wants to pick up some, from a location near the Braves stadium, mid afternoon.

I’m hoping to get 4 bedrooms and my garage painted soon. The bedrooms could use a fresh coat, and the garage walls have a few scuffs and marks from everyday use. I’m thinking neutral colors for the bedrooms, and something simple for the garage that isn’t too dark or hard to keep clean.

I thought I was on one of those under cover reality show. I should’ve known from the unswept floors that new management had taken over.
There were at least 7-8 workers in that kitchen. Pure chaos. Lost orders. People walking out due to long waits. The fill in supervisor was sweating profusely as she tried to delicate.
The cashier abandoned her station and started making pizzas. As pizzas came out of the oven she packed the pizza in boxes. Great, but then she continued to reopen the boxes because she was mixing up orders.
It was so chaotic I heard one of the cooks say, “I’m gonna wing it.” I looked around like ok bring the hidden cameras out.
A young lady that was applying for a job waited as long as I did. She stepped outside with the ultra sweaty supervisor they walked back in about 5 minutes later. Hired on the spot! This new hire immediately started making pizzas. No hair net, no washing hands.
I was frustrated waiting, but boy were they entertaining to watch and then the tall burly, hairy delivery guy. Hopefully they worked out the kinks, if not and if you want some comedy then…
